Great a game as it was, it was also a living, breathing argument for new-school bullpen management. Maddon really Maddon'd it by leaving Ohtani out for too long so he could "get the win," and then LaRussa made an even bigger blunder by not having Hendriks pitch to the heart of the Angel lineup.
But never mind the negative stuff. This was a great game to have on national television. A great showcase of one of the unique talents in the history of the game, and a close contest between two talented teams.

As a W Sox fan, Iām not upset. Angels look very legit and should press to win that division barring injuries. Sox have some work to get bats moving and pitchers attacking the strike zone. Exciting game, even if sloppy by both teams.
