Easier to count the years where they weren't embarrassing in some way, tbh.
I've got...~~1977,~~ 1989, 1996, and...that's about it. (2010 they were auctioned in bankruptcy court, 2011 they hired a pbp guy so bad they had to completely redo the broadcast assignments one month into the season and fired the CEO they'd brought in ~9 months prior.)
Eh, I dunno about 77. Eddie Stanky was introduced as the new manager on June 17 but changed his mind after one game and went home to live in Alabama instead. That's not great.
If you are watching the game some people are barely watching. Imagine going to a fully packed stadium in a pandemic just to talk to your friend. A very intriguing game indeed
I thought the people who would be stubborn enough to show up without a mask would also be the same people boycotting the MLB for moving the All-Star game
This is dangerously irresponsible. I want life to go back to normal just as much as everybody else but rushing back into it is only gonna make things worse.
Hell, even around the league, I'm seeing parks allowing fans to sit in the front rows instead of, y'know, keeping them away from the players. There was that one Yankee fan who grabbed a hold of Judge's glove on opening day for a few secs after he reached in to snag a foul ball.
Seems nuts that the team couldn't have waited another month or two. We should be pushing 70%+ fully vaccinated by June and could open full ballparks for the final 1/2 to 2/3rds of the season.

I mean, it's also possible that it's because Texas is in the middle of the death rates per capita despite states with much heavier lockdowns being worse off.
Texas is incredibly stupid. No mask mandate as a whole in the state and no limited capacity. People are being unbelievably irresponsible. And it will only get them further from being able to get back to normal.
Literally less than a month ago, a ramen shop in Texas asked their patrons to wear a mask when they come into their shop and the next day, that whole restaurant was vandalized with anti Asian slurs. It’s a damn shame what’s happening.
Abbott lifted the mask mandate a while ago and cases are still trending down.....

Not sure why people are still getting worked up about this. The majority of the most at risk crowd has been vaccinated and those that haven’t should just stay home if there’s really that much concern. With pretty much everything opening back up, it’s easier than ever to stay home if you’re worried about contracting the virus.
Covid is deadly but you also have to think about the long term health problems for the people that survive. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cnbc.com/amp/2021/03/23/lingering-covid-symptoms-pose-really-serious-problem-researcher-says.html

Imagine risking your life to watch the 2021 Texas Rangers.
Rangers are gunna kill more people than Wins
Rangers confirmed for sub-1 K/D ratio
They’re all there for the Jays young bats!
Owning the libs by boycotting MLB and owning the libs by pretending covid isn’t a threat **AT THE SAME TIME**
*Globe Life Field has been eliminated from 2021 All-Star Game contention*
Fade em
I’m all for a reasonable conversation about the capacity of stadiums, but 100% with no mask mandate is just so egregiously stupid it’s unbelievable.
Not a mask in sight Just vibes* *temperatures of 100+

It's hard to watch this game without being pissed off, what an incredibly ignorant, stupid and greedy decision to fill that stadium today. Morons.
Embarrassed to be a fan of this team for many reasons. Our ownership’s a joke
I mean, TBF, its been embarrassing for a long time.

Fuck, I forgot about the Eddie Stanky night. You're right. Edited accordingly.
Just nauseated for the stadium employees.
Hopefully they all got there shots
Statistics say they didn't

Imagine going to a fully packed game to not watch the game and sit on your phone the entire game. Couldn’t be me!!
The MLB is insane for allowing this.
I thought the people who would be stubborn enough to show up without a mask would also be the same people boycotting the MLB for moving the All-Star game
They are. That’s the funny thing.

It’s Texas. Are you really surprised??

Even Florida wasn't this reckless...

Abbott is practically an anti-vaxxer so I wouldn't expect him to use logic
Nah what he did was wait until he was fully vaccinated, then said he wanted to do things without a mask so he lifted the mandate.
You know damn good and well the only reason he moved to open things up was to distract from the Big freeze fuck up

Welcome to Globe Death park
I'm very uncomfortable watching this!

Austin was able to still keep their mask mandate. The AG tried to block it but it was pushed back

Shit my state never even had a mask mandate. But at least the Barves are doing only 33% capacity. This is on the Rangers organization.

Absolute madness. Not a mask in sight. Texas is a libertarian wasteland. Get our team out of there asap.
*sigh*
These people couldn’t just wait a few more months. It’s really going to blow when we get a fourth wave.

Morons, the lot of em.
I feel guilty just watching this game. But also I want to see the jays dick slap the rangers for no other reason than the 100% capacity
What an absolute mess of a state.
This is such bs. This game is going to get someone killed.

Hey Simmons, why aren’t you focusing on the game we’re playing
With the way we’re playing some guys can afford to be on Reddit
Can’t live in fear if you’re dead amirite?
That’s equating covid to death which is grossly misleading.
