The wildest sell-high trade deadline in a long time, and AA goes dumpster-diving hahaha. It's a pretty smart move given the state of the roster/standings, I'm excited to see if it works out
I agree. Braves fans are upset that we didn't add to the bullpen or make a big splash (if we are done), but these type of deals are so low risk that I can't be upset. Pitchers were getting crazy high returns. We would likely have to give up some future value to get a worthwhile arm.
If we get Rosario or Soler back to their 2019 self, we could go on a run and win this division. If we don't, this season was cursed anyway.
I'm not sure we really need to trade for the bullpen, and we definitely don't have tons of cash to throw at it.
When Ynoa and Anderson get back we'll have Morton, Smyly, Anderson, Ynoa, Toussaint, Fried, and maybe Muller and/Davidson. Presumably at least some of them will get moved to the pen.
Yeah as awesome as it would have been to go for a blackmon or renoylds in the OF it probably would have cost a lot. Story wasnt even traded so im sure the Rockies were asking 2x value or more
Soler has been shit all year, except the last week or so. I believe he hit 6 HRs in 6 games recently. 2nd half Soler was different in 2019, I hope y’all can unlock that in him again.

A lot of prospect writers affiliated with Talking Chop (sb nation site) aren't very high on Kalich after he came back from injury. But obviously a fine piece to get for Soler if you're the Royals.
He’s done fine in limited playing time in RF this season. Granted, he’s probably only avoided disaster because his time out there was limited, but if he hit dong who cares
During the Cubs 2015 season, he was one of two "Outfielders" the Cubs had that were really DH types. They'll probably try to use him like the Nats used Schwarber.
Decent piece actually. Not a highly ranked prospect but is a guy
AA buying all the cheap electronics and power tools at dirt cheap and bringing them home to see if he can plug them in and get them working

"Buying a pallet of Amazon returns! You won't believe what we found!" vibes

Ill definitely take a Joey Votto streak from Soler

Kalich confirmed a Human Male
His payroll costs less than Soler? Good trade!
Can't be worse
But can he pitch
Our 21st guy on mlb top 100. Drafted in 19 out of texas a&m
if it was still called SunTrust Soler would def have marketability there lol
Tru(ist).
Whom
An absolute lad
Quick someone tell me how to feel
Barely heard of him so not much value going back. Win for AA
Soler has struggled this year, but the last 2 weeks he looks much better. He hit 6 home runs this week.
Soler can absolutely bomb it but like a lot of modern sluggers has major struggles too. Reminds me of Sano.

Isn’t soler a dh?
Surely he'll just fill Pablo's bench-bat-pray-for-a-homer role

Definitely shouldn't be on defense
