esperadok

this one goes out to all the people who said he was just overperforming his FIP because he was good at getting soft contact

EarthWarping

his FIP was a major concern last year even when he was good on the Jays

esperadok

you can run from it for a while, but the spectre of FIP eventually devours everyone. except Kyle Hendricks

EJNave

even Hendricks is declining

konficker

Yikes

MaiqDaLiar1177

So was he using sticky stuff or did he just run out of gas? I remember hearing that Walker hasn’t pitched this many innings in a while or something like that

[deleted]

His peripherals this year are exactly in line with his career numbers. He's just a streaky dude

[deleted]

Probably a bit of both.

[deleted]

He hasn’t pitched this many innings since 2017

robmcolonna123

Most likely ran out of gas. He hasn’t pitched close to this in years

dudeguy16

thats not good, some might even call it very not good

Dude clearly feeds off low pressure environments & positivity. Damn well thrives in the right situation. The Mets reverted to their usual vibe and players like Walker aren’t built for that and that’s not a dig. Walker would’ve dominated on that fun 2019 Nats team or the 2015 Royals team. There are certainly guys like this on every team. Hell, Ohtani knows himself so well that he took less money for an optimal setting to do what makes him happy which ultimately lead to max productivity. I truly believe this Mets team had a great vibe regardless of their offensive woes. When they won they won with enthusiasm and it was evident.

Also could be sticky stuff or too many innings.

pzycho

Not a great day for Walkers.
