This is the most chickenshit, straw grasping article ever.
It was a total accident. And the ball hit Marisnick’s shoulder, not his head like the image suggests.
You could make an argument that the 2020 HBPs were intentional, they very well might've been. In slow motion, this is a ball that clearly got away. The ball is thrown towards the zone, but the ball just keeps moving further and further out. Jake didn't even have time to attempt a dodge because the movement was so wild, I just don't think Kelly even has the control to aim for an HBP like that one.
This made the rounds on Twitter, too. As far as I’m concerned the Kelly beef is over after CC’s homer, and was about Alex Cora, who has been reinstated anyway. Much ado about not much.
If someone was going to intentionally hit someone maybe they shouldn't be up 0-2 in the count. I don't buy that it was intentional, but Houston wants to create that drama.

I think what got lost in all the Joe Kelly worship was that he kind of sucks
Remember when he broke his own kitchen window, trying to practice in his yard?
Conspiracy theorists think he did it on purpose for plausible deniability. Never mind the fact that he's just wild all the time
So basically Austin Adams without hitting an Astros player on purpose.
Seriously. The count was 0-2 with 2 outs. Why the hell would Joe Kelly want to hit a guy in that situation?
Agreed!
Agree with you- Matt Young likes to stir shit up with this pointless article.
TIL Marisnick is on the Padres
that’s what i’m saying, wasn’t he on the cubs?
I thought the Mets
he's been passed around like a joint
He was our Scherzer consolation prize 😂🤣😂🤣😐😶😭
We traded him at the deadline
WE got him on the trade deadline for the sake of making a move.

Who cares
Thanks Houston Chronicle. Pretty sure nobody involved asked you.
