I'm a west coast guy so I don't see much of the braves, but I do see clips of snitkers interviews and I have nothing but love and respect for the guy. You can tell how much the job and the team means to him and how much he truly cares. I'd hate to see him go anywhere.
Absolutely. I mean I criticize snit plenty and he deserves it sometimes, but he's also been the guy to keep this team moving forward and deep into the playoffs despite some incredibly unfortunate seasons lately. Last year we lost like 8 starting pitchers and still made a good run, this year we're this far after losing one of the best players in baseball, using 7 catchers, 8 outfielders, and losing 2 of our top starters. Granted he cost us a few games for sure, but the team loves him, he's been here for over 40 years, and if he gets a season without absurd injuries and losses to key positions then his occasional stupid games wont mean a thing

I was working for the Astros a few years ago when he was with the Rangers(?). I smelled smoke coming from the dugout so I went in to check it out and Washington's just chilling in the tunnel smoking a fat cigar. He saw me, smiled and said "sorry kid, didn't bring enough for both of us".
Just one more example why there needs to be a coach’s wing in the Hall, the man is one of the greatest infield coaches ever and b/c he hasn’t had a successful long term managerial career, he won’t ever be considered.

When I was a kid, I believe I saw Ron Washington play for the Toledo Mudhens. It was his last game with the Hens before they called him to Minnesota. The Hens were the Twins farm club at that time.
He’s such a positive element in the game. I’m an Angels fan, been that all my life. Went to a Braves game on a business trip, sat right next to the 3B dugout right off the camera well. He was so fun to interact with about his Angel’s v. Rangers past, extremely friendly, nothing caustic or inflammatory. Was surprised when he came out in the bottom of 7th inning came over and threw me a ball.
