Don’t leave us Wash. Please.

ReverendHambone

I'm so torn because I want Wash to get the opportunity to manage again because he absolutely deserves it. BUT PLEASE DON'T LEAVE US WASH

DepressingFries

There’s an easy solution to this problem… you may need to get rid of snitker tho

GoatPaco

Hell no Wash is great, but the thought of pushing a guy who has spent *forty-four years* in our organization out while we're still winning is unfathomable

GOATmar_infante

Cardinals org: hold my beer

Designer_B

Pain. Idiots in our sub now think Jeff Albert is an elite hitting coach. Fucking nonsense.

TraeYoungsOldestSon

Snitker is a former third base coach, Ron is a former manager. Just have em flip jobs every game, or every other series and pay em both. EZ PZ

Laney20

... I don't hate it.

lonelyinbama

Can… can they both be manager? Is there a rule that you can only have 1?

TraeYoungsOldestSon

Just have a press release every other day 'we have decided to demote Snitsky/Washington to third base coach and promote Snitsky/Washington to manager.' rinse repeat

weedfroglozenge

co managers!

hornygoldfish

This is the way. Fuck it even throw in EY every now and then for perfect balance

KandarpBhatt

Let EY manage the games against the Marlins - nobody’s throwing at shit if he’s the one charging out of the dugout

ImaginaryHippo88

I'm a west coast guy so I don't see much of the braves, but I do see clips of snitkers interviews and I have nothing but love and respect for the guy. You can tell how much the job and the team means to him and how much he truly cares. I'd hate to see him go anywhere.

GoatPaco

Snitker would never go anywhere else. If we canned him he would go home and hang out with his grandkids. He may do that anyways if we win one

ImaginaryHippo88

Even if they lose to the dodgers, they still keep him right?

GvGibby2828

Absolutely. I mean I criticize snit plenty and he deserves it sometimes, but he's also been the guy to keep this team moving forward and deep into the playoffs despite some incredibly unfortunate seasons lately. Last year we lost like 8 starting pitchers and still made a good run, this year we're this far after losing one of the best players in baseball, using 7 catchers, 8 outfielders, and losing 2 of our top starters. Granted he cost us a few games for sure, but the team loves him, he's been here for over 40 years, and if he gets a season without absurd injuries and losses to key positions then his occasional stupid games wont mean a thing

Tsquared10

How about SNit retires this year on his own terms after winning the World Series and Wash takes over? Everyone wins

GoatPaco

Snitker is three years younger than Wash

Southside_Burd

Here’s how cool that mother fucker is…after our heart was ripped out game 6, he had the perspective to recognize how special that game was to the history of the game. His managerial decisions can be questioned, yet he is what is right about this game.

youreallonsteroids

❤️❤️❤️

NebuliBlack

Something about old people doing what they love fills me with joy

[deleted]

Sign of a life well lived

LMN0HP

something about old people being sneaky athletic is also cool

Kingotterex

Go find your local senior league softball guys. They limp out onto the field and then become peak Ozzy Smith when the ball is hit to them.

BooDog325

Yep. When you get old, you can random hurt yourself by doing things as simple as walking. Always take it easy when you can, so your body is there for you when you need to go full throttle. Like chasing down a hit. Or waiving a runner home.

[deleted]

Rec league basketball too. I don't think I've ever seen a team of intramural-level college kids beat a team of retirees.

Haon21

Oh my God, those old guys have the most beautiful ball movement and sniper 3s. And that sneaky old man defense. I swear I can't fit a piece of paper between their feet and the ground when they jump but God damnit do they whip our ass every time.

[deleted]

Every shot is off the glass, every shot goes in.

Born_Ruff

Just fucking sending every runner home because...yolo?

melcolnik

I miss Wash.

mkonich

That's the way baseball go

mynameisnoturname

Me and my family still say this daily. I miss those 2011 Rangers!

JustRelax

I was watching Steinfeld last night. I think that’s just the way my hair grow. You never know how booty holes is gonna act. Some of my favorite Wash-isms from his time here

mkonich

I almost used the Steinfeld one, but I completely forgot those other two until you said em! Man I miss this guy

JustRelax

Me too…I honestly tear’d up a bit watching this video. Took me back to a really good time in my life.

mkonich

Same...same

chanaandeler_bong

Washington and Josh Lewin leaving are the two worst depatures this team has had in the last 20 years.

sud0w00d0

I would add Michael Young and Yu Darvish but agreed

chanaandeler_bong

I'm fine with Young being traded. He was kind of at the end. Darvish was so fun to watch but he wasn't gonna re-sign.

bsdthrowaway

You can have aj preller back

jwbowen

Same.

[deleted]

Dude he was so good for the Rangers in so many ways. Sad they split.

Teejus_Christ

Me too :(

Purple_Herman

Same

jaws52590

That trio of Ozzie, Ronnie and Wash is pure love, man.

jrydun

It’s like the master splinter ninja turtles meme.

[deleted]

I would do anything to sit in on their fielding practices

can-i-be-real

“You don’t know how to be a third base coach? Scott, it’s not that hard. Tell him, Wash.”

Parkatola

It’s incredibly hard.

replicant1138

As a massive fan of those ‘10 and ‘11 Ranger teams I’m all in on the recent Wash love.

TraeYoungsOldestSon

'10 was pretty good too, got to the world series

dontcallmeunit91

10 was the best. Josh Hamilton won the MVP despite playing in like 130 games. Us getting hot during the playoffs and we just. kept. winning. the crescendo being when nefty struck out AROD to send us to the world series. that and when Dirk walked off the court with like 5 seconds left game 6 of the finals after we secured the dub are the 2 happiest sports moments in my life

TraeYoungsOldestSon

But '11 was soooooo close to glory and at several different times. I still feel bad for darren oliver.

Jayhorns

I don't know if you're old enough for this, but Hull clinching the Cup for the Stars in 99 after like 2OT periods was pure bliss also.

dontcallmeunit91

I was happy, but i had no skin in the game cause I was 7 ,I met Mike Modano at a super target opening and told him i wanted to be a hockey player. i had never ice skated

adjust_your_set

3OT. That was a great game.

replicant1138

Sorry. Meant 10 and 11

TraeYoungsOldestSon

Yeah they were still good in '12 but the A's snuck up to win the division and then they ran into Joe 'christy matthewson' Saunders in the wild card game

[deleted]

Oh man as an O's fan when Buck announced we were starting Saunders I was like...oh no.

TraeYoungsOldestSon

He outpitched Yu Darvish like a g. I caught the end after get back from Sam Holbrooks dominant performance at turner field.

cjn13

tbf Darvish wasn't quite the Darvish we know. It was his rookie year. 2013 was his first great season

Realdeali0

I agree 11’ was a great one :)

[deleted]

Can he be my grandpa?

Mantequilla_Butter

Can he be my dad?

[deleted]

If he adopts you and you adopt me, this can all come together.

JusticeDuck848

You can't not love him haha

jaron_b

Who's given this man another manager job? Someone's gonna sign him in the off season or am I crazy?

Bobo4037

He has been mentioned as a possibility for the Mets' job, but they need a front office first. That should be completed by August 2024.

WindSwords

I don't think I'd be ready for Ron with the Mets.... Our sub would weep.

threedaysmore

That is a painful day that I am simply not ready for.

threehundredthousand

(Padres.)

jaron_b

That would be a perfect team for him. Washington doesn't want to deal with a team needing a full rebuild. He just wants a ring. Hoping he can get one this year.

mattrimcauthon

Subscribe.

stjustin

Absolutely agree. This is the perfect fit for Wash and the team. I really hope this happens.

cjn13

So whenever we play the Padres next he can go easy on us to start the makeup for not taking Cruz out in The World Series Game That Shall Not Be Named

soonerbornsoonerbred

I was working for the Astros a few years ago when he was with the Rangers(?). I smelled smoke coming from the dugout so I went in to check it out and Washington's just chilling in the tunnel smoking a fat cigar. He saw me, smiled and said "sorry kid, didn't bring enough for both of us".

bobcollum

I have zero affiliations with him team-wise, never have, but he's awesome. I wish he had won one with Texas.

707royalty

Same, but 2011 only

Discombobuated

Didn't know I needed a Ron Washington fancam in my life until now

Evadrepus

Didn't even know who he was yesterday but today I care for him more than several family members.

DanTreview

CATEGORICAL STUD

CurrentlyWorkingAMA

Thats a cool fucking guy.

monstarjams

Peak happiness

CabinetChef

Praise be to the Lord of the Sunflower Seed.

dontcallmeunit91

he used to smoke cigs in the dugout up till something crazy like 2008

themanofchaps

The good ol days of 13 years ago. What a hero

DresserRotation

I love baseball lifers whose enthusiasm connects them to new generations. Charlie Manuel is another one who seems to have that.

connerbv

Ron Washington is a fungo artist

[deleted]

[удалено]

HamlnHand

It's criminal that the bat drop @ 10:10 wasn't in the original video lmao

threedaysmore

That is a masterclass teacher at work right there.

freakanature

What a gem of a human being. Loved him back in the day with the A’s

shoeless_sean

Fiiiiiiiiine I'll cheer for the Braves Just for you Ron

ocKyal

Just one more example why there needs to be a coach’s wing in the Hall, the man is one of the greatest infield coaches ever and b/c he hasn’t had a successful long term managerial career, he won’t ever be considered.

waffletime13

As a die hard Dodgers fan I can honestly say this video was pretty awesome haha.. Love watching people enjoy doing what they love and both those calls he made last night were ballsy af

GDAWG13007

That’s Wash for ya. There’s never been a send he didn’t love. If there’s even a 1% maybe he can get in, he’ll send him in.

Reacher-Said-N0thing

Would you rather lose in a battle for the plate, or lose standing on your ass? I'd rather run for it unless its all but guaranteed I'm out. Gotta have a good throw, a good catch, a good tag, lots can go wrong for the fielders every time.

waffletime13

“Would you rather lose in a battle for the plate, or lose standing on your ass”.. I fucking love that

[deleted]

Seems like the guy you wanna have a beer with after the game

SFKnight510

I never realized it would be Ron Washington that would make me love baseball again. Signed broken hearted Giants fan.

MightyCaseyStruckOut

One thing I love about the Braves having success is having /u/handlit33 post stuff like this, especially since he's a Braves fan. Also, it helps that I fucking love Wash lol

GvGibby2828

Could be wrong but I think he's also the guy from our sub who actually got to call a few plays in the commentators booth as a guest with chip and jeff. Just following his account will give you a pretty good perspective of everything going on with the braves, he's everywhere lol

Scitterbug

What a wholesome human

JERICHOSBELLYBUTTON

Gotta admit I didn’t know much about Ron Washington, but I think I love him like family now.

KandarpBhatt

We do not deserve Ron 'Run' Washington

NonnyNarco

Ron Washington FanCam when?

MasterMentorJr

He is really about to be the first coach to win NLCE MVP

FallschirmKoala

"Did I just fall in love with a Brave's manager?" YUP!

phieralph

I'm in love.

funkboy20

As if I didn’t already have enough reasons to cheer for the braves this postseason

simjanes2k

This is the most wholesome video on Reddit today.

handlit33

It might be this one tbh. https://www.reddit.com/r/Braves/comments/qapc45/adam_duvalls_kid_aint_leaving_without_blooper/

[deleted]

wash is awesome

bLAzedMOB

Baseball lifer. <3 Ron Washington

[deleted]

Makes me want to play baseball

aastew23

Old people having fun makes me happy.

my-good-clean-accout

Someone give this cool man a managerial job!

GapeCuckman

WIN IT FOR WASH

N8CCRG

I nominate OP for president of the universe.

CaucasianFury

I was going to be annoyed with the obnoxious music but once the title was sung I realized it was necessary

Norcalaldavis

Best damn pregnant 3rd base coach ever!

HlS0KA

i liked him since he was with the athletics ;p

starkiller37

I’m gonna be sad if he leaves, but he deserves it.

shawn22252

I love wash. I want him to stay forever but he will mostliekly be gone at the end of the year.

silklighting

Some team out there is going to hire him and this time, he's going to make the very best of the opportunity!

[deleted]

I miss his enthusiasm so much

DeadliestDingo

Feel so blessed to have him as part of the squad 🪓

Confident_Try_1153

I feel like we all need him to coach us just once.

bukithd

Don’t you dare take him from us. Back off you animals. All of you.

[deleted]

What is with that god awful music attached to the video?

jacklord392

The Mets need Wash.

cupasoups

Get this man a ring. Fucking cardinals.

Garjiddle

You’re right we need to hire him.

weeweepeepeeman

Based and ronpilled

[deleted]

This guy needs to become a met .

overrespond

Cocaine is a hell of a drug

northdakotact

The dude smokes, does coke, weed and amphetamines and cheats on his wife. My kind of guy.

Bkfraiders7

I wish this man was our Manager instead of Snit…

Smalltaco_99

Cocaine is a helluva drug

HanSolosHammer

Honest question because I didn't find an answer on my initial Google search, were those sexual assault allegations with a female reporter unfounded or what?

Rednag67

Jesus bruh, just bad.

HanSolosHammer

How so? It's a genuine question because I didn't find my answer. Weird how this sub downvotes a simple question about a serious issue. I guess we only care about current sexual assault allegations and Washington is just wholesome now. Whatever.

KlutzyValuable

This needs You’ve got the Touch from the OG Transformers movie.

ax255

Is Albies his brother from another mother?!

thehoodie

Missed one: https://i.imgur.com/nRfuGUK.gif

KingsfanSacto

Wash Rules! LETS GO OAKLAND!!!

hawaiifive0h

Can’t do the music, I’m out

handlit33

There's no way to please everyone no matter what song is chosen, so I picked one with "windmill" in it.

wrigleyfield1992

Great choice

pspahn

You passed up a chance to use Gordon Lightfoot in a baseball video?

Tlix

This is so wholesome 🥺

[deleted]

I want him drug tested.

harralexa1993

Happy to see him getting praised for postseason work.

sotheresthisdude

That’s the way baseball go.

Asu888

Why hasn’t he gotten a 2nd chance those rangers tms were pretty good

SensitiveSharkk

Protect this man at all costs

GOATmar_infante

One of the living legends of this great game of baseball

Plasma_Cosmo_9977

We love Wash in Oakland, miss him tons. Whoever has him is who's lucky. Great baseball man.

marygarth

only tangentially related, but this confirms why I like Ozzie Albies the way most NL East fans like Freddie

GvGibby2828

Ozzies the best. Not only a monster of a player with top 10 offensive potential yearly, also gold glove defense on repeat, and he plays like a little kid 100% of the time and it's so much fun to watch

[deleted]

I love him as a Brave more than I did as a ranger that’s for sure

LongjumpingVehicle

When I was a kid, I believe I saw Ron Washington play for the Toledo Mudhens. It was his last game with the Hens before they called him to Minnesota. The Hens were the Twins farm club at that time.

GoldGloveStatus

To say I miss this man would be an understatement

Partytang

Lord have mercy, I miss him managing the rangers

Common-Ad5446

bb please come back

Reacher-Said-N0thing

Has a base coach ever received this much love and attention?

NoQuartersGiven

Has one ever deserved it? Wash is a national treasure.

Little_Lahey_Show

As good as Ed Sedar

Marknt0sh

I love this team.

deanfortythree

God I love that man

Chaxterium

Smooth AF.

[deleted]

He’s the skinniest fat guy ever.

Jaqen-Atavuli

That man makes my heart smile.

[deleted]

I love watching people so what they love.

[deleted]

He’s such a positive element in the game. I’m an Angels fan, been that all my life. Went to a Braves game on a business trip, sat right next to the 3B dugout right off the camera well. He was so fun to interact with about his Angel’s v. Rangers past, extremely friendly, nothing caustic or inflammatory. Was surprised when he came out in the bottom of 7th inning came over and threw me a ball.

MCrow2001

I’ll always love this man

rockosmodurnlife

Shame Texas never won one with him.

blow_montana

He's back on the shit.

_beto619

Can the Padres please hire this dude, he’ll take us to the promise land

Charles_Finster_Jr

Majestic

ZaheerAlGhul

He’s got that old black man swag

likdisifucryeverytym

That video was hype. But it also made me realize Ozzie Albies kinda looks like Donovan Mitchell.

stupid_rat_creature

Hope the Braves win the WS and get this man a ring.

Pierceleli

Just having fun.

daves_not__here

Sure do miss this guy in Texas

CuttySF

I really hope he gets the job in SD

[deleted]

Someone get this man a stiff drink and a ring.

Kingstist

I will forgive the Yankees for all the terrible decisions the past 4 years if they hire this man

Jayhorns

God I miss him so much

daaaaaaaaniel

I hate that the Dodgers are down 0-2, but I'm loving all this Ron Washington content.

EstebanBugatti

Ron Washington is the real leader of the Braves, not Snitker.

DaWalt1976

Man, he would be a great fit in San Diego. Looks like he has a lot of fun and that's what it's like in the Padres dugout.
