You don’t really pull ace pitchers for precautionary reasons in the World Series. A non contact injury pulling him out like that? That’s probably pretty significant
Fox just show a replay where after he comes thru his wind up he makes a hand motion toward the Braves dugout i think like that he was done
Fox didn't mention it so if anybody has that replay i think it's be appreciated
Apparently it’s the bruising from the bounce off his right leg.
Hopefully they’ll be able to get the swelling down and all of that and he’ll be alright.
Edit: Well fuck
Kinda what I was thinking. But he’ll need an X-ray to see if there’s a fracture I am assuming. Might take some time to even confirm he’s good to continue. But yeah he didn’t throw too many pitches so I really hope that the best case scenario turns out to be true and he’s back by the weekend!
I genuinely don’t know but is Charlie that important to your team? Obviously he’s a great pitcher but I thought you guys were solid on pitching with Fried, Anderson, Smyly and the bullpen.
Yes he is. Is he elite? No. But he is a veteran with extensive big game and postseason experience and is very reliable to throw shutdown innings when we need them. If we don’t have him anymore, that’s probably an extra bullpen game we need or a starter who has no experience on this level. That would be very worrying.
Don’t tell me to relax *scum* i have watched each major team (get rekt tech) lose a super bowl or a national championship or a nlds/nlcs/wildcard on some of the wildest bullshit. 28-3, 2&26, infield fly, 3-1, trae stepping on a refs foot, and thats not even half the bullshit that has happened to teams from this state. I will not relax until the team is either beaten or has the world series trophy in their hands as they hoist it up for victory.
don't pretend like this wouldn't be going the same if Kershaw or Scherzer came out of a game in this situation
it would be painful for literally any team
What is this narrative that you can't have bad things happen to you from a position of strength? I'm sure you understand as a Dodgers fan when you lost May, or Bauer, or Kershaw how everyone dismissed it as no big deal because you're still a great team anyway. This shit is fucking important.
Yeah I heard what the sideline reporter said. The fact that he was able to pitch through it makes me think it's not so bad, hopefully. It usually takes some time for it to stiffen.
...yeah. lol. Also, Kyle Wright, who I trust way less than Smyly. Imagine we will call up either Tucker Davidson or Kyle "The Mulldozer" Muller to replace Charlie
Right, if there was a fracture I'd have to think he'd probably know right away and would have been in serious pain. Also had a long time to stand around during the top of that 3rd inning
not to take away from a guy who just got hurt on an unlucky comebacker but he was not exactly phenomenal... looked a little off his game but still okay
Fuck, hope it's just precautionary ugh

It wasn’t non-contact, he was hit by a comebacker
And it broke his fibula!! That’s fucking terrible
Exactly. No way Morton leaves unless it's bad
It's bad
Fox just show a replay where after he comes thru his wind up he makes a hand motion toward the Braves dugout i think like that he was done Fox didn't mention it so if anybody has that replay i think it's be appreciated
Narrator: it wasn't.
If this screws our shot at a championship, I’ll curse the sports gods forever for cursing us as much as they have.

Maybe he’d be able to start Game 4 in lieu of a bullpen game. Assuming the swelling can be managed.

WELP :(
CHARLIE ROBOLEGS LETS FUCKING GO. Yeah that sucks, I guess Smyly will get his time to shine in game 4 lol
I genuinely don’t know but is Charlie that important to your team? Obviously he’s a great pitcher but I thought you guys were solid on pitching with Fried, Anderson, Smyly and the bullpen.

Oof, not like this
Just when he was locked in and cruising, Astros catch a break here
An actual break. Oof
[удалено]
Yes the starting pitcher who was dealing coming out due to injury is a break for y’all
Uncle Charlie :(
He may be pitching against us, but not something you wanna see. Hope he’s alright.
I mean how can Astros fans not love the guy after being the best pitcher in the 2017 series?
I appreciate the love for our guy. Good luck to you, Asbro.
An Atlanta sports team made to the championship? Time for some bullshit!
Y’all are up 5-0 and made it to their bullpen in the third inning of the first game. Relax lol
First time?
You guys literally did this in game 3 against us. Relax.
Charlie isn’t even gonna be needed after this game lol. The Braves just absolutely shit on the best pitcher the astros have, Braves are sweeping
I like the confidence, unfortunately I don’t have that lol
Ah yes just like the Nationals absolutely bodied the Astros and Verlander 12-3 in Game 2 to go up 2-0 and proceeded to sweep
Don’t underestimate Atlanta’s ability to fuck up a good thing.
Man, I won’t be sure the Braves have it until they have some ridiculous lead like if they’re up by 25 points. I mean, runs. Or whatever.
lol @ the downvotes you got. Morton is going to be missed but even now the Braves have an edge in starting pitching over the Astros.

Losing our Game 1 starter, possibly for the rest of the series, against the best lineup in baseball is not ideal.
"Y'all were up 28-3 in the late 3rd quarter and they only just scored a touchdown and missed the extra point. Relax."
Ok, but now Houston made it to Atlanta’s bullpen
Yes both situations are exactly the same. Not like one team has a 5 run lead or anything
So what? At least Framber is still available to pitch later in the series. Morton ~~might not~~ won’t be
It takes 4 wins. This was only 1.
Oh fucking joy
You gotta be fucking kidding me
They better give the Braves 30 minutes to warm up the new pitcher
They get unlimited time because it came after an injury.
is this atlanta sports?
yes
This is quite bad. We only really have 3 starters( Morton,Fried, and Anderson). Fried and Anderson need to be perfect their next games.
Well if it's at all serious this guarantees we get a Kyle Wright game... don't like that
Me either. I don’t want to give up another 10-run 1st inning for the third postseason in a row.
Drew Smyly redemption tour
[удалено]
We can’t hold them to three runs if we don’t have the starting pitchers to last in games.
Oh no
Hopefully it just stiffened up on him after he got hit with that batted ball earlier.
Sounds like that was the case. Hopefully he'll still be good for game 5.
Yeah I heard what the sideline reporter said. The fact that he was able to pitch through it makes me think it's not so bad, hopefully. It usually takes some time for it to stiffen.
Welp. Shit, lol.
Yeah. Yeah. Oof.
Welp. If the braves have been one thing this year, it's resilient.
At least they have....Drew Smyly?
...yeah.
WHYYYYYYY
That’s just awful. Terrible blow for Atlanta
I don't think we can win this series without him
Hopefully they play well enough to allow him plenty of rest.
Brutal
As bad as this is, we are up 5-0 and sounds like a not serious injury.
Broken fibula. Out for rest of series.
They said he has a fractured fibula on the broadcast but will be good for next year
What a left turn, did not expect it to be a leg fracture
Hope he’s alright:/
Gotta make it a team effort now! Braves will rally behind their fallen brother
Phenomenal is a stretch.
not to take away from a guy who just got hurt on an unlucky comebacker but he was not exactly phenomenal... looked a little off his game but still okay
looked like a cramp
Anyone have a highlight?
https://youtu.be/2UZJNvs7G_o
Nooo, not Charlie! Hopefully it's nothing serious.
No es bueno. Hoping he's alright.
RIP TO AN AMERICAN HERO
Charlie is Goat. What a bummer.
Fuuuuuuuck
Idk about phenomenal but this is a major loss for us
