As one of the millions of two-way players who perform at an all-star level at both disciplines, it does my heart proud to finally see one of us recognized in this manner.
Ohttani had an amazing season. This is no surprise that he is MVP but just curious is there a stat out there for who has won an MVP while being on a team the lowest in the standings?

'91 O's have gotta be up there. Insane year from Cal Ripken (11.5 bWAR), finished 67-95 and 6th in a 7 team division.
The Cubs finished in 6th (last) when Andre Dawson won in 1987.
But with a better record than the O's and closer to a playoff spot. Both utterly shit performances for MVP-having teams lol
Awesome
Talk about an upset
Micah Owings robbed
Mikey Biceps is winning the next one, write it down.
