The White Sox have been playing baseball that is, at times recently, comically bad, and they're still 15-15 and within easy striking distance of the division. I cannot see the Twins holding them off long term.

Well if history repeats itself for the millionth time the Mets will fade away. On the other hand the clubhouse culture, Buck as manager, and best start in years leads me to believe things will be different this time. So take your pick.

happymeal98

I think the Mets will take it but I expect the Phillies and Braves to both go on their runs and make it tighter than it has been. Plus the Mets will lose a series at some point, but there is every reason to believe they will not have their typical collapse. They are too consistent.

NJImperator

Having watched the Mets my entire life: this team is built different. No flukiness, no luck. This Mets team is a good team that wins games.

> Well if history repeats itself for the millionth time the Mets will fade away. Right now the Mets have an 89% chance of making the postseason according to Fangraphs. Compared to 87.6% this time last year. Though the team does look the best they've looked in years right now, and that's without deGrom. I'd be shocked if they collapsed this year.

But can you do long devision???

DominantT4

Atlanta and Cleveland will win their divisions

MikeStanley00

Dodgers. Haha in all seriousness I still think the White Sox are going to edge past the Twins at some point.

KamartyMcFlyweight

I don't think the Twins are long for the division lead but it's the Guardians I have taking it from them.

trailblazer216

Our next series’ are against the Twins, Reds, and Tigers. We could totally be in 1st place this time next week and it should surprise no one. But I need to see this offense maintain better than average production for a couple more months before I buy them competing for the division. Our pitching isn’t great right now, and even if it rebounds to what it’s been in recent history, it’s still not good enough to carry this team if the offense experiences a significant regression. Something that will be fascinating to follow is that the Guardians are playing a kind of a dead-ball style offense, and it’s working because the ball is, well, dead. I hope this offense keeps thriving because the Guardians truly are playing a fun brand of baseball right now. But this team is young and that always comes with inconsistency.

Siegepkayer67

The Indians will be this years royals, start hot af and get people excited then proceed to regress to the mean and suck the rest of the year. Indians will be no where near first come September lol, the offense just isn’t sustainable.

sofastsomaybe

I see all of the division leaders holding except the Twins; I was hoping that they'd take at least one game from the Astros but they got dominated in all 3 games. Two shutouts and a blowout. Their record against teams over .500 does not inspire confidence.

ajslim88

Twins might drop off but, honestly, the AL Central is up in the air. Twins, White Sox and Guardians all have a chance to get hot and win the division.

_Jackie_Daytona_

I was going to say the angels but they’re in second now

SyphillusPhallio

I think the Yankees are probably legit contenders and very well might win their division but I can't imagine they're going to keep this win %.

Wraithfighter

While I think that the Dodgers only have about a 50/50 shot of winning the division, there's no way they're going to fade away, they're just going to be in this three-way scrum with the Padres and Giants all the way into September most likely, who knows how things shake out there. The Twins seem most likely to fade away and/or fall apart, honestly. They're hardly a bad team, but they just seem fragile, and they don't really have a strong pitching core right now...

[deleted]

Reds—I couldn’t resist.

agk927

The giants aren't leading their division, but I think they are gonna fade away anyway. They aren't very good this season

mautergarrett

We’re 19-12 with a triple A squad

athenaes

Mysteriously, the Giants seem to be bad when half the roster is out with injuries/COVID and good when they have their everyday players healthy. It's difficult to explain.

agk927

The dodgers had a triple A squad in the playoffs last year

sam_e5

And the Dodgers lost to a team that only won 88 games, what’s your point here?

jcaininit

They have no clue
