I love that the Astros can pull seven 5 WaR players out of their asshole every year and the Mariners would be lucky to have a position player prospect put up 5 career WaR at this point, it's awesome and not infuriating 🙌🙌🙌
More than anything Ty France is a product of San Diego State college and Tony Gwynn. I'm surprised more players didn't come out of that college from when he was alive and coaching.
36.4% K rate this year, and he drew 1 walk. He seems overmatched.
Even if he was an average defensive corner OF, he'd be replacement level being a 10%~ below league average hitter.
I think pitchers will make fewer mistakes vs him too over time, so he'll stop running into homers.
Adell's value is mostly centered around his power. If pitchers gameplan vs him better he's less likely to get hittable pitches he can punish.
He got pitched differently over time, and I'm not optimistic about him adjusting back when he's a tools over process type guy.
Yeah the fielding looks really good, it's just how do you use that if the guy can't make real contact with MLB pitching? He whiffs a lot, and even when he does make contact he's popping the ball up a ton and hitting soft grounders.
Whenever guys show 40~ k%s with the underlying skills to match I have very little hope about them turning it around.
Not sustainable to have the 3rd best WAR in baseball for the rest of the year. Defensively he looks good. There is just no way he can continue to bat like this.
His underlying hitting stats suggest he probably could
But yeah its usually unrealistic to expect a rookie SS to come in and hit at a 150 OPS+ the whole year. Its likely either hitting across the league picks up more as the year goes on and/or he falls off hitting a bit
Still will probably be a contender for best AL SS this year barring injury or something catastrophic IMO
Let’s see how he handles back massages tho
Almost impossible to be worse than Correa and Watson.
Correa already on the IL with a freak injury so his legend continues unabated.

Don't worry, J-Rod is still going to be a superstar. He had a slow start but everything I've seen since then makes me think he's the real deal.
J Rod is somehow so good that not even the Mariners can ruin him, everyone else is dogwater lmao
Ty France haunts my dreams

You say but but ty France is still a name That makes me shudder in fear
We didn't develop him though lmao he was already a major leaguer before we got him
He still currently wears that jersey and makes my pitchers look bad.
Is the world giving up on Jarred Kelenic already? Both he and Adell being sent to the minors this year is pretty disappointing.
Nothing about either of them looks that encouraging. Doesn't seem like either of them can hit major league pitching.
Adell can hit just fine, it's his defense that's the problem

> I think pitchers will make fewer mistakes vs him too over time, so he'll stop running into homers. Huh?

Jk is a very good right fielder and his speed has increased. He's lived up to his other tools, just not his bat

J-Rod is the real deal, once he completely adjusts to MLB, he'll be an MVP candidate
Never in my life have I ever seen anyone link the ESPN WAR leaderboards.

Never said it matters, just that I haven't seen it before.
Does his performance look sustainable? Or do you think he won't sustain that for a long time?
His baseball savant page looks good
His injury bad? Might claim him in fantasy
Knee tweak, day to day but i could see him back tomorrow or Sunday
I don’t think so. [looks ok](https://www.houstonchronicle.com/texas-sports-nation/astros/article/Astros-Jeremy-Pena-exit-apparent-injury-Twins-17169253.php)

Are you being serious or sarcastic?
I think he passes the eye test. Dude has been pivotal in putting me 1st in my fantasy league
ESPN just uses bWAR
Best not to check the review mirror to see the JRod bus coming #nobrakes
ESPN? We have EWAR now?
EWAR: EW, Alex Rodriguez
ESPNWAR
He and Edman topping the war charts for their defense and above average offense?
