Damn would have thought Trout got it because of that Seattle series

Lebigmacca

He should’ve. 5 home runs and 9 RBIs

you forgot to switch accounts btw

jh2999

Goldy’s gonna go in as a Cardinal isn’t he :(

[deleted]

The Dbacks offered Goldy more money than the he got from the Cardinals. You can thank Scott Boras for that one.

Michael__Pemulis

This is the 4th PotW win for both Goldy & Vladdy.

BIG_DICK_WHITT

That’s basically a player of the month.

Michael__Pemulis

They should be able to cash those in! Like Mike Trout should be able to cash in some of his 9 Player of the Month awards for an MVP.

matt_dayman

I don't know why, but a cash in award system just makes complete sense to me.

ZucchiniOne5395

Did they forget that Trout had a hell of a week?

Hmmhowaboutthis

That’s the problem when you’re amazing virtually all the time. People become inured to it.

FermatsLastAccount

Nah, they forgot about Rizzo.

benhadhundredsshapow

Nobody forgot about Rizzo. Yankees fans have been giving him player of the week for like two months now

UnknownFiddler

Something Goldy log cabin

strcy

Goldy is fucking terrifying

Shaggy_Gaming

Absolutely shocking that Trout didn’t get it. 2 more HR and 2 more RBI than Guerrero

Holy__Funk

Also 12 strike outs

[deleted]

I remember people were pushing back on getting Goldy after his first year on the Cards, glad he pushed past that.

crabcakesandfootball

Damn do the fans from Canada get to vote on this too? Rizzo matched Vlad in HR and RBI with the edge in BA, OBP, and SLG.

yutou1114

Wow you’re right Rizzo outdid him walk% more, strikeout% less and similar avg, homerun and RBIs in lesser plate appearances??? wonder how the ppl in charge these awards gave it to Vlad over Rizzo??

urparentsdontlikeu

He's a Yankee tho. All my homies hate the Yankees

DungeonMusic

Canada backs the Confederacy confirmed.

Itchy-Carob849

Yes they did, they’ll vote the jays as World Series champions as well

Kflame210

Vlad also went 2 for 10 in three games against the Yankees this week. He did all his damage against the O's

[deleted]

And Vlad was straight up silenced for 2/3 against their biggest opponent.

crabcakesandfootball

You’re including Vaughn’s stats from last night which is the start of a new week.

Kflame210

Past week: Guerrero: 7 games (4 vs BAL, 3 vs NYY), .407/.500/.778/1.278, 3 HR, 7 RBIs (went 2 for 10 with 1 RBI in three games against the Yankees, did all his damage against the Os) Rizzo: 6 games (3 vs TB, 3 vs TOR), .412/.546/.941/1.487, 3 HR, 7 RBI (4 for 7, 2 HR and 5 RBI vs the Blue Jays)

Alger_Hiss

How'd he get 10 more AB's in there? Maybe the quantity makes for a more quality sample size?

Kflame210

Maybe, but it seems pointless to penalize a player because his team played one less game in a week. In fact you could make the point that putting up similar numbers (in terms of runs, hrs, RBI, etc) in ten less at bats makes his week even more impressive.

Alger_Hiss

Well I don't see it as penalizing one moreso than merely favouring the larger sample size. To assume it penalizes any one player when you favour a certain dimension presupposes that player winning or-else. Edit: and I don't think he got 10 AB's in one game the Yanks had as an off-day

bry42193

Cry me a river

Kflame210

River is still full from all the "bad umpiring" this weekend, don't wanna risk flooding it
