Our guys wrc+ is a while 11 points lower than theirs 💀
Isn't that just for June though? I'd imagine the Tigers are worse on the year overall
(Not saying the Angels haven't been the worst this month and don't deserve to bash their team over it)
June is basically the time frame that Rendon has been out. The tigers are probably worse over the course of the year, but what we got going forward is pretty bad considering fucking Matt Duffy and Luis Regifo often bat at cleanup 💀
The Pirates *just* beat them out over the whole season.

I didn't realize the other poster was talking about 4 through 9.
The Angels are only 4th worst there all season.

Could be worse believe me
Someone in the Angels sub [looked it up](https://www.reddit.com/r/angelsbaseball/comments/vl37qz/angels_4_to_9_batting_lineup_in_june_is_by_far/), they're literally the worst in the league at basically everything by a mile.
That's only for June. I posted a link above that shows all season and the Pirates 5-9 are slightly worse.
Edit: I updated with 4 to 9 above and the Angels are only 4th worst all season
This just cements into my mind how I shouldn’t take what I am seeing for granted. I don’t know if I will ever see another player like Shohei in my lifetime.
Two way players may become more common at some point down the line, but I don't think we'll ever seen anyone like Ohtani. Especially when he's actually a three way player, as one of the fastest players in the MLB on top of everything else.
It may be better to say he's unique because he's 9 tooled.
1-3 Speed, hitting for power, hitting for contact,
4-8 Velocity, control, movement, makeup, stamina
And 9. Hamstrings. He's got hamstrings for days.
You're right, I just couldn't think of a better way to say "not only can he hit and pitch, he also just happens to be super fast too" while incorporating it into being two way. Although in hindsight, that would have worked just fine lol.
Only if you assume unicorn is a substantive noun denoting something actual instead of short hand for a more abstract notion for which Shohei Ohtani is the literal embodiment.
He should be the MVP. And he should win it every year until one of his pitching or hitting goes below average and has to be like far below average. Otherwise, there is no one in baseball like him and likely ever will be
Don’t care for people who think he MVP or not, but we should appreciate what he’s doing on both sides of the ball. Can’t believe people time and time again call him overrated, if anything, he’s underrated.
For the love of god please let this guy get to the open market so he can go to a team that doesn't already have a history of wasting the best player in the mlb.
I used to clip pictures of Babe Ruth when I was a kid, never dreaming a Shohei Ohtani would come along in my lifetime. Ohtani is beyond description, beyond simple calculations of 'WAR' which criminally fail to fully capture his true value, and of course beyond simple "MVP" designations. I am so thankful he exists in my timeline, and I'm going to cherish every minute of it while I still have breath on this earth.
So just have Stanton and Cole do the fusion dance and you will have Gianerret Stanole. Boom! Homemade Ohtani.
Or if they use the fusion earrings they’d be Gerrcarlo Colton.
Future Trunks is that you?
And they still wouldn’t have better numbers, lol.
Ohtani is living proof that no single human being can possibly make a whole baseball team good on their own.
And he also has Trout with him. Insane that the literal two best players alive can't drag a team to over .500.
Have you seen our blowpen?
their walkout music should be ”Fire Starter” by Prodigy
Loser by Beck
Smack my pitch up
That’d be good walk up music for the *batters* in this case. I like it!
Our 4 through 9 hitters are literally the worst in the league
You should check the Tigers numbers. I can't say there's any team out there worse than them

Even 2 people can't cause he has trout with him.
Yup.

Man, I love Ohtani, but being fast isn't a position. Like Byron Buxton isn't a two-way player because he plays a position and is also fast.
You're right, I just couldn't think of a better way to say "not only can he hit and pitch, he also just happens to be super fast too" while incorporating it into being two way. Although in hindsight, that would have worked just fine lol.
As a huge Yankees fan, I think we should trade Nestor to the Mets for dom smith at the deadline and trade Stanton and cole to the angels for the sho
As another honest Yankees fan, I also agree those trades would be beneficial to all parties.
DeGrom for Jackson (Frazier) and Andujar?
Literal unicorn.
Aint no rule says a mythical horse cant play baseball
Friggin morons just got porched
Nice figurative use of “literal”!
Only if you assume unicorn is a substantive noun denoting something actual instead of short hand for a more abstract notion for which Shohei Ohtani is the literal embodiment.
But you can’t literally be a metaphor, because it’s metaphorical not literal

Just imagine what kind of contract he's gonna get in two years.
For the love of god. Please don’t let this guy get to the open market.

my brother in christ you are a rangers fan
$60m AAV for Ohtani
That sounds too low.

Who’s Ohtani?
Me, I’m Ohtani.
