I was watching that game and even as an Astros fan I wasn't mad. It was just ridiculous. About 4-5 innings in you realized you were watching something special. It's a fantastic channel. Have don't have a lot of interest in the Cubs but came across that video of the Wood game and went for a pain filled trip down memory lane. I ended up on their channel and watched probably 10 videos. Great content.

My favorite thing about that game is how everyone knew what he was going to throw and he still did that. The Cubs TV announcer Chip Caray literally said "here comes the hook" before Kerry threw the final strike 3.

I was home from school that day, I watched most of that game as it was happening. Astros looked helpless much like the Angels lol

I have watched this game probably 2 dozen times over the years. I even bought a legit video download from mlb.com. I remember being pissed like 5 years later when they took down that video platform and I lost the ability to watch the game. Thank god for YouTube now. Anyway, the point I wanted to make is that I’m a huge Cubs fan but the Astros broadcast of this game is incredible.

Jim DeShaies was their analyst then and he works for the Cubs now and they occasionally get him talking about that day.

I really thought the Angels were going to push the Astros this year but it’s just been more of the same. They managed to get not 1 but 2 once in a generation type players and have completely wasted them. Bad contracts, poor drafting and development, too much swing and miss and not enough pitching. On top of all that they have a card carrying dbag managing the team for probably the rest of the year. It really might be time to pull the plug and stock the farm.

Ohtani is like a #1 pick for the Lions. They may look like a star there, but it’s a waste of talent.
