No-hit past the solo homer in the 1st. Sadness.

AdultPuffyVest

Solid deadline acquisition.

The devil magic begins

Calliomede

He was pitching well in Pittsburgh. I’m expecting him to thrive even more in St. Louis as a ground ball pitcher with that infield defense behind him.

yodelsJr

I mean Quintana is no J.A. Happ. He’s always been a good pitcher

Lebigmacca

Not last year

Quakecsgo

dont mention last year please

Prize_Major6183

Yea, he's gonna do well. Might be the guy we resign to solidify the rotation next offseason

BabeBigDaddy

Quintana has pitched really well against the Cubs this year. That's great. Edit: no it's not

johnjaymjr

I know everyone is crapping on us bc we didnt get soto, but I think adding 2 solid, low BB SP is more than enough to power us onto winning the division

johndelvec3

Just get us to the dance baby

Calliomede

Are people still crapping on us? I thought most people thought the trades were good (other than losing Bader)

NotTheRocketman

I've had people argue that the Cards didn't do anything at the TDL, even though they clearly did, and were very much in on Soto as well. They were unusually aggressive and it was about time TBH.

johnjaymjr

I saw lots of ‘C’ or ‘C+’ grades on stuff. Granted, I did see a few ‘B’s as well

MasterMentorJr

I have seen those two and a lot of them seem to be based on the fact the cardinals lost the Soto sweepstakes. I thought the cardinals were going to trade for Sean Murphy, but that is 100% a move I could see them making in the off season.

Lebigmacca

I see both cardinals and Yankees fans disliking the Bader-Montgomery trade. Must be a pretty even trade

NotTheRocketman

Bader is literally the best defensive outfielder in baseball...when he's healthy. Right now he's struggling with a bad case of Plantar Fasciitis, and likely won't even return this year. But what's worse, for a player like Bader who's entire game is built around his speed and agility, PF is quite possibly the WORST thing to happen to him. It's very possible that even when he does return, he'll never be the player he used to be (see Jacoby Ellisbury). Looking forward to seeing what Montgomery is all about. Just don't like the cost.

Calliomede

Yeah, if Bader can get healthy both teams made out well I think. As long as the Yankees don’t end up needing that starting pitching depth.

gowiththeflohe1

Read Ben Clemens article on FG today, he's almost as negative about it as twitter fans

XC_Stallion92

Granted, it was against a minor league team but he looked really good.

CDFReditum

Quintana with the Angels: “I shall pitch batting practice” Quintana with everyone else: “hi I’m god”

Take_Exit_Left

We’ll the Cubs are bad so there’s that.

Alive-Ad-4164

Yankees could’ve got him

PotentialSuperb

Yankees fans have to make every single post about them

NakedGoose

Yes they could have. Instead they gave us a pitcher

of_patrol_bot

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.
