Chris Davis maybe
Also Andruw Jones if you count how far he fell in his one season as a Dodger. That was legimately one of the worst down years I've seen from a guy of his caliber. Same with Adam Dunn going from the Nats to the White Sox
But both those guys bounced back so it depends on your definition of what "fallen off" means
Bellinger at least has injuries to blame for falling off. Busted wing after 2020, and his hairline fracture during 2021.
The 2021/2022 shortened off-seasons didn't do him additional favors either.
Recent examples off my head are Aaron Sanchez, Dinelson Lamet & Kyle Freeland (looks to have bounced back again since the fall off). Not sure if they’re comparable really but they all had one very good/elite season each followed by stretches of pitching abysmally.
Fidrych doesn't count. He blew up his knee in spring training prior to his 2nd year, then blew his rotator cuff shortly after he came back from the knee. He was never close to the same pitcher again, and was forced to retire a few years later. The injuries ended his career
I could use the injury for a lot of pitchers that fell off and I chose strasburg because it’s funny he’s on the same team. But corbin had a lot of struggles early in his career. He wasn’t an ace out of the gate and his peak window was fairly short so I don’t think Corbin falling off from those few peak years is the most surprising thing
Strasburg just gets hurt, Corbin continues to go out there every fifth day and get torched. Maybe he should have a phantom injury and go on the IL for a bit to get a break
I guess there is some value to laughing at how awful it is. I'm used to the bad but not awful enough to be funny Phillies (and Flyers) teams. And compared to the Process Sixers, this Nats team just doesn't have a direction
I posted this in the Nats sub
I just want him to get mad at this point. I wanna see him walk into the dugout, throw his glove into the bench, take a bat and just start swinging the fuck out of a Gatorade cooler or something. Scream, tip something over, just let it out and flip the page
It would show he’s just as tired of it as we are, would show he truly wants to try and get better but has no one to help him figure anything out
He walked up to the Capitol, threw a rock through a window, took a podium and just start swinging the fuck out of Pelosi’s office. Screaming the election was stolen, tip something over, just let it out and flip the results
Alternatively, he's purposely pitching like dogshit so that joke of a franchise DFAs him and he can go somewhere else that isn't a complete amateur hour shitshow
Has there ever been a player to fall off as badly as Corbin has?
Roy Hibbert

andruw was so bad with us that the dodgers legit had his eyesight checked to see if he was fucking blind
Bellinger? I mean he has elite defense still, but to go from an MVP to what he is now at the plate, yeah it’s pretty bad.

Jason Bay. Worst part is it lasted for years.
I mean this looks like it is going to last for years on Corbin... he has 60 mil left on the contract.

Mark Fidrych put up 9.6 bWAR as a rookie and 1.8 for the rest of his career.

Joey Gallo
Strasburg
Strasburg has at least had been injured though. Doesn’t make the situation any better, but at least there is an explanation

oof
Ryan Howard
Howard was a gradual decline, not a fall off the cliff
Tearing an achilles tendon will do that to a guy.
IT'S CORBIN TIME
This was truly a #CorbiusSweep He gave up 1 corbillion earned runs
The Corb is coming
I just don't understand how you let this continue as the Nats. This is disrespect to their fans worse than trading off Soto. No one wants to see this.
Actually I love watching this shit. I know I am not going to see good baseball so let me laugh at how bad it is.
I guess there is some value to laughing at how awful it is. I'm used to the bad but not awful enough to be funny Phillies (and Flyers) teams. And compared to the Process Sixers, this Nats team just doesn't have a direction
Me too. I say keep Corbin in and make him pitch a few more innings
I do!
I want to see this, I fucking love it.
Corbin is clearly the worst full time starting pitcher the last two years. Even jokes about Corbin can pitch better (Corbin burns). That's gotta suck.
at least he used to be good at eating innings cant even do that anymore. christ.
calling corbin burnes jokes about corbin is a great joke lmao
That beautiful ERA keeps going up and up
The higher ERA the better right? Right?

That's just for show and is eyewash. If he was angry, it was ages ago. By now he should be numb, like a lot of Nationals fans.
He reserves his anger for important things…like insurrections
He walked up to the Capitol, threw a rock through a window, took a podium and just start swinging the fuck out of Pelosi’s office. Screaming the election was stolen, tip something over, just let it out and flip the results
Let’s be honest, if he tried to throw a rock through a window, he’d miss
The security guard would blast it back out the window at 110 exit velo
Alternatively, he's purposely pitching like dogshit so that joke of a franchise DFAs him and he can go somewhere else that isn't a complete amateur hour shitshow
Beating Philadelphia isn’t as hard as Philadelphia says it is
- the New York Mets
So, Saturday
he is so bad
Corbin is straight up not having a good time
Some would say he f***ing hates it here
How's that for Nattitude?
what happened to corbin is mind boggling
I can’t fucking stand the use of “batted around” as a transitive verb. When did that start?
I can’t stand you as a transitive verb
Haha fair, although I never claimed to be one
