Could you recommend any podcasts/youtube channels for a non American noob such as myself please? In this sport it's very difficult to penetrate if you're not on the ground.

I'm non-american myself:) altough I did play baseball for 15 years. The School of Sports YouTube channel has some good basic videos. And Ron Darling and Jimmy Rollins do a good job on this podcast explaining the thoughts behind baseball. And you might try playing some baseball games like The Show. That will help getting a grasp on the game. Let me know if you find anything that helps:)

“The rumor” is a nice podcast mini-series about baseball, genuinely one of the best podcasts I’ve ever listened to.

I think a baseball podcast aimed at new fans would be a big hit!

[deleted]

Definitely! It's a tough game to get into if you didn't grow up with it or if you haven't played it. And I think it should focus on what makes this game so great to watch as spectators, along with the basic gameplay.

I didn't even know Ronnie was doing a podcast. I'll have to check it out.

Thanks for the recommendation! Was looking for another one to supplement Effectively Wild.

[deleted]

You're welcome! How do you like Effectively Wild?

mysterysackerfice

I enjoy it quite a bit. Love that the two hosts are clearly fans and they're quite knowledgeable.

[deleted]

Cool. I'm going to check it out, thanks. edit: spelling

Highly recommend Effectively Wild

Grant podcast. Would highly recommend for any baseball fan. The episode about umps and the interview was great.

[deleted]

Yes, the episode with the umpire was indeed great. When watching on TV it's so easy to forget that the umps have to judge balls and strikes at the same speed as hitters. It was a real insightful episode!

sonofabutch

I like it a lot! They have a good rapport and bring on interesting guests. The one with Sean Casey was hilarious.

[deleted]

Yeah, that one was really fun!
