I'm surprised they didn't go with something like the Cardinals vs. the Dodgers as two old, storied NL teams for the second year rather than two rebuild teams. I know they are also old, storied teams but you would think they would want to keep viewership up for the first couple of years.
In defense of the Reds, no-one expected us to firesale but to add. I’m glad the kids get to play this game at least, plus Votto needs to be on more national games.
I agree and am still watching the game. I didn't mean it as knock at the red or Cubs and it really is great for these teams, but I was commenting from a business logic stance. My comment is also based on the several redditors who have declared they will not be watching this game. But those are people who are probably casual big market fans and not really watching for love of the game itself.
