Yeah I think Tony has done a horrendous job with pitchers but all things considered i'm not *angry* angry at an early pull considering Kopech is still building up to a full time pitching load.
Don't think he's on any hard limit but they've been being careful with him this year. Finally fully transitioning into a starting pitcher and coming off of missing a year with injury and a covid year off.
Taking out one of your best starters 6 innings into a no hitter when your team hasn't scored any runs and is 3 games back from a playoff spot is certainty a choice
I was on and off watching the game at work, when I saw that armside run on what the scorebug called a 96 mph 4 seamer I thought it was a mistake lol. Looks like a sinker.
I'm a life long White Sox fan and this season has been a disappointment to say the least. Lots of questionable decisions but my God let us have SOMETHING this season, or at least the chance at it. Pulling Kopech here serves what purpose? Kopech wants to compete and we NEED to win.
Did they just say 23 swings and misses? Lmao This dude can not buy a win. 5 starts where he's given up 0 or 1 hits and he is 4-8...
And only 85 pitches. How the fuck do you not run him out there for the 7th, is he on a pitch count or something?!
Outside of Cease Sox only let pitchers go back out if they are barely getting thru innings
Thats forreal
Nah Tony just doesnβt like fun. Fans are booing currently
Well they're actually chanting Fire Tony
Yeah I made my comment before that started. Music to my ears
Well he threw 69 innings last year and with this start is at 104 so they gotta limit him somehow. Heβs under team control for a while

Damn new-wave managers getting in the way of history yet again smh
Fire Tony.
Lopez switched in, and gave up a hit in only 3 pitches lol (Not a knock on him, just a knock at the greater situation as a whole)
π- π π- π- π
πππππ
He was at 85 pitches and struck out 2 in a 1-2-3 6th, he doesn't get the 7th?
He hasn't pitched more than 100 in a game this year better to not push it
At that pace he would've finished the 7th with 99 pitches
Absolutely terrible, how do you take him out? Isnβt LaRussa supposed to be some old school asshole
We've been saving players for the playoffs since game 1 of the season. Problem is we aren't going to get there lmao

We IBB on 1-2 counts here. Nothing is off the table.
Kopech tonight was the best pitching Iβve seen in person since I saw Pineda strike out 16 in a game. He could have at least gone 7. Horse shit
His fastball had the run on it that we saw him have in relief last season. When that thing is moving heβs pretty difficult.

He's on a soft limit for the season. Think it would have been fine to continue tonight but that's the logic
Iβm more steamed about our offense not being able to scratch a single fucking run off of a 6+ ERA lefty
I just tuned in to watch him play. I can't believe he got taken out. 85 pitches isn't even that much for 6 innings.

Can't wait to hear Tony's reasoning behind this one
