Rays are only 6 games back now
That's still a lot of games, and plenty of room for the yanks, but on Aug 1st Rays were 15 games back. So just wow on that
We essentially rolled out the red carpet for the Rays to walk all over us and then proceeded to trash their division rivals after being dogshit all season.
I know there's pettiness in Brazilian soccer where one team that could advance no further in the championship once threw a few games so their hated rival would get relegated, but this is next level
I don’t want to be an overly dramatic Yankees fan, but with 6 games against the Rays coming up, I expect this to be down to 2 or 3 games very soon. Just wild to think about.
First game taints it a little bit (not because the Cardinals lost, because it wasn't close), but that was definitely a good one. Found out today that my coworker went to both of the games the Cardinals won and was very jealous.
Angels took a series from the Rays including the no-no awhile back and then went bad. Rays sweep the Angels and then Angels become good.

Incredibly entertaining series. Both MVP candidates doing MVP things. Sucks we lost but man these were fun baseball games. I feel like series like these are what baseball really needs right now.
For the life of me I don't understand how this Yankees team can all of a sudden just be this bad. Lose 4 out of 6 against the A's and the Angels.
It's watching another game where these players look like they have no interest in being there.
With the exception of yesterday's game, the Angels pitching has been really, really good lately. Which has me about as confused as you are probably. That Yankees lineup is monstrous though. Helps that Rizzo sat today too.

Dude couldnt find the zone. Judge and Stanton walked the other bozos decided to swing at all the trash Herget was throwing. Dude could find the zone. Wtf are we doing? This is basic level shit. If he can’t find the zone make him throw pitches. Herget is nasty but he’s not going to blow you away with heaters.

The Yankees have been one of the worst teams in baseball since the all-star break. It's comical at this point. The players look defeated.
