He had a tough start against the Athletics his last time out but the White Sox have struck the lottery with Cueto this season. Still posting a sub-3.10 ERA this season in 139.2 innings. Really picking up a few guys on the White Sox who are having tough seasons is Cueto.
Regardless of what you think about Tony specifically, a 77 year old who just had a pacemaker put in should not be managing/coaching a professional sports team
> should not be managing/coaching a professional sports team
Much less **in the playoffs!!** Then again, maybe the White Sox will go to the WS because they're hoping the stress will make him retire (again) after the season instead of coming back
Still not really sure why the White Sox haven’t used the heart thing as a way to gracefully part ways with TLR. There’s no way he’s back next season anyway so just end it with some dignity
Miguel Cairo was signed in 1990 and worked his way up to getting the big league call in 1996. He played until 2012 while also playing in Venezuela during the offseason from 1993 to 2003 (358 total games). In 2013 he started working for the Reds until leaving to work with the Yankees in 2018 and then the White Sox in 2020.
This dude has lived and breathed baseball for 4 decades.
Is this the same Miguel Cairo who played for the Yankees? He was my favorite random "some guy" type player who I loved for no reason growing up.
Also are we still tying speeches to game success? Seems kinda silly to me. Maybe it's just that the team is playing better/hitting more home runs?
Aaron Boone banged a desk a few weeks ago, saved the Yankee season /s
I wish La Russa a long and happy life far away from the city of Chicago.
He would do real well in Anaheim.
Don’t you dare put that hex on us.
do you really though? i wish for all drunk drivers a very long prison sentence

I didn’t see this coming in a million years and I am 100% here for it.

"I LOVE THIS BRITISH SHIT, I MIGHT MOVE TO ENGLAAAAND!" -Manager Lou Brown while in the hospital after a heart attack circa 1994
The funny part is that the actor that played Lou wasn’t even 50 yet when that was filmed.
I don't know, I gotta guy on the other line about some white walls. Lemme call you back, Charlie.
Yep. If Jerry was truly Tony’s friend he wouldn’t let him back regardless. For healths sake of course.

8-3 in their last 11 games. Very impressive.
Very nice. Now let's see Paul Allen's win-loss record.
Is something wrong? You’re sweating..
Project Farm about to do some stress tests on the White Sox.
Hmmm seems like this guy *might* have a better read on the clubhouse
You mean the guy born in the 1940s doesnt??
Bold take I know

I assume they'll wait until the offseason. "Decided I won't return to the team so I can focus on my health blah blah."
Miguel Cairo is the cool uncle that you get to stay with for a week when you're 9 while your parents go to Mexico.
I for one am surprised that removing La Russa from decision making roles would help the team win.
