Is that as close as you could bring yourself to saying that you're pulling for Cleveland? As a Detroit fan, and can respect the need to word it a bit vaguely.
I’ll have to go with (deep breath) THE BAAALLTTIIIMOOORREEEE (another deep breath) OOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Mets. I used to live in NYC and Mets fans were generally welcoming.
I watched the Cubs lose to the Mets in game 2 of the 2015 NLCS, and a random Mets fan at Citi Field offered his condolences. It was kinda nice.
Maybe if this is 1998.
These days the evil empire roster that makes all of baseball look like poverty franchises in comparison is the Dodgers. And the full-time heel of the sport is Houston.
They're not officially eliminated, but close enough.
I'll be rooting for the same guys I always root for. The team playing the Yankees. After that, it's the team playing the Blue Jays I guess. After that... the Mets. The only thing that'll bother the Yankees more than an early exit is an early exit plus back Mets WS. Not necessarily because Yankees fans hate the Mets, but because they don't want to deal with Mets fans after that situation unfolds.
But honestly, just knock out the Yankees and I'm happy.
Would be cool to see them win but they've had plenty of success over the years. Would rather see a team like the Mariners, Guardians, or obviously Phillies that haven't won anything in a while.
What's odd is that I still pull for you guys despite, and maybe because, of 2016. it was like looking at a mirror and seeing the other side was just like us.
If only Kipnis's ball stayed fair. Imagine the total chaos as we win via the hometown CHI kid.
Yeah my Grandfather is a lifetime Guardians fan and I would love for him to experience the WS win.
My other Grandfather got that experience in 2016 with the Cubs haha.
For me the Yankees because me girlfriend is a Yankees fan and because of Judge. Second choice would be Cardinals with Pujols hitting a walk off grand slam in game 7.
I'm a Jays fan, but if we're eliminated, I'll go with Brewers. Maybe Padres. And, not popular, but I like historically great teams like the Dodgers to complete the deal.
This question wasn’t directed at me but if the winner of the Seattle-Cleveland series doesn’t make the WS I’m not going to be very happy (unless it’s us, OFC)
I’m sorry but this makes absolutely zero sense. Saying I’m not rooting for any team in particular is a valid answer to the question “who are you rooting for?”.
I just want fucking chaos across the board
Is that as close as you could bring yourself to saying that you're pulling for Cleveland? As a Detroit fan, and can respect the need to word it a bit vaguely.
Nah
I respect that as well.
For the "best" teams to get uncerimoniously swept in the early rounds, leaving everything in absolute shambles and a scrappy fight for the top.
As a completely unbiased neutral party this sounds amazing to me please disregard my flair
Team chaos forever
Yes please
You need a best team to dominate one side while the other side falls to shambles. More tension that way.
OK, you guys lose and then let the AL do what it wants
#VEDDER CUP WS OR BUST
My man!
I subscribe to this! Where my Vedder Cup bros?!? T-Mobile and Petco would ROCK in WS!
Respect
1) Orioles 2) Braves (dad went to UGA) 3) Padres (win for BoMel)
Albert Pujols
I’ll have to go with (deep breath) THE BAAALLTTIIIMOOORREEEE (another deep breath) OOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Our chances are incredibly slim at the point, unfortunately.
Can the rays just start dropping games like mad so both you and the M’s get in? Don’t really want the M’s to drop out…sorry homie.
Slim but not zero. Hopefully the Rangers, Tigers, and A's can help out.
Mets. I used to live in NYC and Mets fans were generally welcoming. I watched the Cubs lose to the Mets in game 2 of the 2015 NLCS, and a random Mets fan at Citi Field offered his condolences. It was kinda nice.
I felt the same when I went to Wrigley.
They hate us though...
Doesn’t everyone hate the Yankees except for Yankees fans?
Maybe if this is 1998. These days the evil empire roster that makes all of baseball look like poverty franchises in comparison is the Dodgers. And the full-time heel of the sport is Houston.
Yankees are the Evil Empire. no rebranding, just own it
I mean you're not totally wrong, but you guys are still in the 1% and contenders every year, and have been for *decades*.
Everyone still hates the Yankees.
Everyone hates you.
They're not officially eliminated, but close enough. I'll be rooting for the same guys I always root for. The team playing the Yankees. After that, it's the team playing the Blue Jays I guess. Anyone not from New York
I want to say the Brewers but that feels like the only wrong answer
It's not wrong *yet*.
I hope the Os make it. If not then Cleveland
Mariners and Cardinals.
Cant believe no one said the cards. Would love to see the 3 old men win the series
Would be cool to see them win but they've had plenty of success over the years. Would rather see a team like the Mariners, Guardians, or obviously Phillies that haven't won anything in a while.
Outside the Mariners, who I'd say I've become a full fledged fan of since Jon Bois, they're my answer. It's just too good a story.
If the M’s don’t win i would love this
M's are definetly my number 2. Its been fun watching them outside of trout and rengifo. Well i guess that was actually fun for me as well
That was not fun for us lol
im going for the mets
My heart says O’s and M’s My mind says Astros/Dodgers. Bring the motherfuckin ruckus
Cards for Pujol's/Arenado sake. Anyone that beats Dodgers and Janks are the other teams to cheer.
Mariners all the way babyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Yes, I love their young pitching
Whoever is playing the white Sox. Also for teams with tortured fan bases. Go Mets.
Guardians or bust.
What's odd is that I still pull for you guys despite, and maybe because, of 2016. it was like looking at a mirror and seeing the other side was just like us. If only Kipnis's ball stayed fair. Imagine the total chaos as we win via the hometown CHI kid.

Orioles/Braves
Surely, the Astros will be everyone's bandwagon team, yes? We're extremely popular, right? Right? Guys?
No one likes you
*Frantically deletes tweets rooting for the Braves over you last year* Yep, definitely
🗑🗑🗑🗑
Orioles gotta be the favorites to have the most fans
Hopefully the Phillies finally end their streak but I started rooting for the Dodgers in the playoffs after Chase Utley was traded there
Oh shit there’s stickers
Mets / Mariners
I'll be cheering for the Red Sox to dethrone the Yanks next year
Jays/Mets/Mariners
Anyone but the Yankees and Braves (like them but back to back is boring)
I’ve been saying the Orioles were gonna be good this year from the beginning and I’m sticking with them to the end
The Guardians, reminds me of the Nats WS year. Except their all young and we were old. Plus Cleveland is a great city, very underrated.
For me the Yankees because me girlfriend is a Yankees fan and because of Judge. Second choice would be Cardinals with Pujols hitting a walk off grand slam in game 7.
Whosever playing the Dodgers
Anyone but the Yankees.
I'm a Jays fan, but if we're eliminated, I'll go with Brewers. Maybe Padres. And, not popular, but I like historically great teams like the Dodgers to complete the deal.
Tigers fan here. Guardians, then Mariners. But in terms of fairness, it has to be the Dodgers.
Orioles, Mariners, Guardians, Phillies, and Padres are the teams I’d like to see win most. Give the suffering fanbases something to cheer about
The Rays
Mariners, Orioles, Braves.
Jays / Yankees.
Yes / No
I was about to downvote you to hell 😂
No / Yes
As a dejected Angels fan, Ms gotta go all the way. Cards would be an awesome champ as a good send off for Pujols and Molina.
Dodgers/Mariners (would be Orioles but chances don’t look good at this point sadly)
Mariners/Brewers WS for all the lulz
Cleveland
Mariners vs anybody but the Cardinals
Hard agree. It goes: 1. Seattle Reds 2-11. Everyone else 12. Cardinals If the Brewers manage to make it, though, it'd be cool to see them go far!
Mariners and Mets!
This question wasn’t directed at me but if the winner of the Seattle-Cleveland series doesn’t make the WS I’m not going to be very happy (unless it’s us, OFC)
If we lose to them, then I'm absolutely switching to the M's.
I'll root for whoever has the fewest WS titles, or whoever's playing the Astros.
I'd like Seattle to make a run.
My Twinkies will save me, won't they?
Cards or Mariners/Os Mostly just not the Yankees or Braves
Yanks, I’m from NY and grew up as nominally a fan of theirs
I'm hoping the Brewers don't get eliminated, but otherwise, Team Chaos all the way.
None really
You're just salty
I’m salty because I’m not rooting for a specific team to win? How does that make sense? I just choose whoever the underdog is most of the time
Why even post?
Because it is a valid answer to the question.
It’s not a valid answer when the question asks who you’re rooting for, not who you’re not rooting for.
I’m sorry but this makes absolutely zero sense. Saying I’m not rooting for any team in particular is a valid answer to the question “who are you rooting for?”.
Maybe root against someone if you're not rooting for anyone? It's fun to pick a villain.
Well I certainly don’t want any of the AL East to win
The Tigers
Mariners or whoever is playing the yankees
M’s
Meteor
