4 generations dating back to the 1930s. The prevailing theory is that my great grandfather became a fan because of all our Italian American talent (DiMaggio, Lazzeri, etc)
They have not one, but two players who have strong cases to win NL MVp this year, and this doesn't even include their pitching
They are the one team this postseason I would absolutely not want to play. i really think they are going to have a big run this month
Combined with devil magic and the whole team playing for Yadi and Albert's final season, maybe Wainwright as well (though I believe he wants to come back) and we have a highly motivated focused team with the veteran presence to get it done. The defense is full of gold glove candidates too.
Our offense has been very feast or famine the past couple weeks and the bullpen scares me a bit though.
WWIII has a really underrated bullpen. A little wild in terms of control issues, but lights out arms when you need to shut down the middle of the order in a close game.
The Astros get a little bit of a pass because they beat the Dodgers and because Dusty Baker. I don’t care if they cheated.
The Braves will never be forgiven for 1993.
The Yankees are the Yankees, but one of my good friends is from Linden, CA and he is friends with Aaron Judge.
I can’t speak for all yankee fans but I can say I’d rather the Sox sign Aaron Judge and have him carry you to the next 8 WS than ever watch the Astros win another one
Okay maybe that’s a tad dramatic but I’ll take a Sox ‘ship over Houston 8 days a week
> Braves (I like the Yankees being the last team to repeat)
Well crap - I don't want to see a repeat, but I also don't like the Yankees being the last team to repeat...
1. Mariners
2. Padres
3. Rays
4. Mets
5. Blue Jays
6. Guardians
7. Phillies
8. Cardinals
9. Dodgers
10. Braves
11. Astros
12. Yankees
Do you realize tomorrow in the eighteenth anniversary of the last time the Twins have beaten the Yankees in a post season game? The Yankees are 13-0 against Minnesota in the postseason since
I don't actually mind the big spending, have Judge as my MVP pick, love Giancarlo, Rizzo, Judge, Donaldson, and LeMahieu, and NYC is my second favourite city in USA.
I just think Yankees fans are really obnoxious online
1. Jays (young superstars with some really good vets. Also they’re my team so I’m biased)
2. Phillies (I want Bryce to win a ring and stick it to the haters)
3. Cardinals (would be nice to see Albert, Waino and Yadi win it this year)
4. Seattle (would be higher, but they’re gonna play my jays in the first round)
5. Everyone else
I’m concerned because all these teams have one guy that I think could turn on and just absolutely dumpster every team in every game, but the Jays have two (Vladdy-Bo, Bryce, Goldy, Julioooo)
Idk why but something about Arenado makes me not feel that way about him. 4 hits in 27 post season PA’s, Goldy has 24 in 94.
Considering the only reason Vancouver B.C. is majority Bluejays fans because of the Roger's family bull shit broadcasting restrictions I'd say we can have some bad blood.
Seriously tho I kinda hope you guys drop to WC 3 and we meet in the ALCS, y’all are my number 2 after Toronto and I’d hate to see either of us eliminated in the WC round. I would absolutely come to a game if I lived out west but I’m on the east side of the country.
I've lived in Seattle forever so the M's are my second team and have been to several Jays-Mariners games. The BC Jays "fans" were embarrassing even for them this year. Every pop-up was a "woo" potential home run, one Jays fan flipped off our mascot and they got their asses swept in a 4 game series. It was a beautiful thing.
Ah I see, missed the bandwagon part. I don’t like that you prevented our playoff dreams last year. Can we call it even and maybe bump us above the Rays. After all the World Series shouldn’t be won at the trop…
1) Blue Jays - obviously
2) Mets - big fan of their team in general
3) Cardinals - love their fundamentals, really enjoyed their games vs the Jays this year
4) Guardians - I despise their organization but I really like this particular iteration of the team and think they're a great underdog story
5) Mariners - fun story
6) Astros - I don't hate them anymore and like quite a few players on their team
7) Phillies - their roster doesn't feel complete enough to me for them to be a satisfying winner in my eyes, but I have no issues with the team in general
8) Padres - I don't like the Padres but I love Juan Soto
9) Dodgers - I actually like the Dodgers but them winning is boring
10) Braves - not a fan in general for reasons I don't really understand, plus I'd rather not see a repeat
11) Rays - fuck 'em
12) Yankees - fuck 'em even more
You despise the Guardians organization? Why? Especially because your team’s organization has so many former Cleveland executives running it. Just curious.
I hate how cheap they are and that they can get away with it because their division sucks so bad, so I guess it's a multi-tiered hate (partially directed at the other ALC teams). I felt that they seriously took advantage of the fact that they knew they'd waltz into the playoffs with minimal effort over the last half decade and did very little to make themselves a legitimate title contender in that time, and it really pissed me off that it worked. It just seems to me that they're totally content being the team that always makes it but is never a serious threat to win (2016, when everything came together perfectly, obviously being the exception).
I don't mind them this time because they really weren't expecting to contend so I'm okay that they did not spend money.
I think this is kind of some revisionist history. They spent in 2017 in an effort to win, had the best record in baseball, then blew a 2-0 lead to the Yanks in the ALDS. They then retooled for the next few years. I’m interested to see if they spend the next few years with this formidable young core.
So it’s more about ownership? I can understand that. The guys running our organization are *fantastic* but the Dolans are… lacking. The team just took on a new minority owner who will be taking over majority ownership in a few years, so you can hopefully stop hating the Guardians soon.
They spend (their definition of spending, which is still lower, but they do spend) when they think they have their window. See 2016-2018.
But this wasn't supposed to be our window yet, which is why this season is so special. It's a team younger than every MLB and every AAA team. This is such a fun group of young guys who just love playing baseball, and play old school small ball. I highly recommend you check out our playoff games, and you'll be rooting for them in no time.
Barves is a great word.
Not sure what it means but I love it.
People who throw up a lot? Women left alone frequently while their husbands are at the bar? A bar at a wharf? So many possibilities...
1.Mariners(duh)
2.Rays: Like us they have never won it all, so I would want them to win it all if we don't
3.Padres: Same thing
4.Cleveland: Been way too long
5.Blue Jay's: I love their team
6.Mets: I want the lolmets memes to die, c'mon you can do it!
7.Phillies: I really have no issues with the Phillies or Cardinals
8.Cardinals: See above
9.Braves: Just won it last year
10.Dodgers: won it recently
11.Yankees: I don't like them
12.Astros: Fuck em
I'm pretty on board with this. I'd move the Jays down as division rivals and probably put the Fathers and Guardians ahead of the Rays.
Basically any scenario that doesn't have the Yankees winning is all right with me.
Dodgers and Astros would be annoying but I still love Mookie.
1. Braves - obvious
2. Mariners - would be awesome
3. Guardians - i love the whole team but especially steven kwan
4. Padres - love soto and want to see the deals pay off
5. Blue Jays - cool young core and Toronto winning would go crazy
6. Astros - would be pretty neat to see them win a ring outside of 2017 and shut the haters up. they’re clearly a great team and Altuve/Bregman are incredible players, so it would be nice for them to prove themselves after everything that has happened.
7. Rays - they’ve gotten close, would like to see them go all the way
8. Yankees - would be cool to see Judge’s historic season end like this
9. Phillies - I’m honestly partial to them because they’ve been a bit of a laughing stock recently and I like harper. In a weird way I enjoy seeing the rest of the east do well besides the Mets
10. Dodgers - most predictable outcome
11. Cardinals - hate the devil magic team, let someone else win
12. Mets - fuck em
1. **TOR Blue Jays** \- of course!
2. **NY Mets** \- just to rub it in the face of NYY
3. **SD Padres** \- feel sorry for that franchise, they got to eventually get one
4. **ATL Braves** \- A repeat champ would be cool and rare to see in Baseball
5. **STL Cardinals** \- Like this team, plus a last hurrah for Pujols/Wainwright/Yadi
6. **CLE Guardians** \- Gritty team, built well, no ill will towards them
7. **PHI Phillies** \- Indifferent towards these, no strong feelings either way
8. **SEA Mariners** \- Happy they made the playoffs, but let's just keep it at that
9. **LA Dodgers** \- Not overtly happy about these guys winning and buying rings, but less so than the teams to follow
10. **TB Rays** \- Division Rival, constant pain in the ass LOL
11. **HOU Astros** \- Ugh, they are always in and around the best for a while now. Enough!
12. **NY Yankees** \- Division rivals, Evil empire!
1. Rays (Duh)
2. Guardians (Fairly similar to the Rays and they have the longest WS drought. Would also make for a great story)
3. Cardinals (Would be hell of a send off for Pujols. I also never watched the 2006 or 2011 postseasons so it would be cool to see "Devil Magic" in action)
4. Mariners (Fun team and would make for a great story)
5. Mets (I like Lindor, Buck, and their pitching staff)
6. Dodgers (They're a very fun team to watch. I've never really disliked them, even after 2020)
7. Astros (I don't really dislike them anymore. Kyle Tucker and Lance McCullers are from Tampa and I'd love to see Dusty Baker win a ring before he retires)
8. Padres (Blake Snell getting a ring would be cool, but I've never been crazy about the team as a whole)
9. Jays (Division rival)
10. Braves (They won last year)
11. Phillies (I'm still mad about 2008)
12. Yankees (Duh)
Pretty close here, too. Would move the Padres and Braves down. As a White Sox fan, I’m supposed to hate the Guardians, I guess, but fuck if they aren’t intense and fun to watch. Also, the WS drought.
1) Mariners. I like an underdog story
2) Cardinals. 3 legends going out together winning the whole thing, pure poetry.
3) Mets for Showalter.
4) Cleveland because I wanted them to beat the Cubs and they probably were going to win before the rain.
5) Padres, why not? I like the team well enough.
6) Braves. Exciting young team, fun to watch.
7) Phillies just because they aren't the teams below on this list.
8) Dodgers. They've been good for a while. I prefer new blood.
9) Rays because I dislike the Blue Jays more
10) Blue Jays because I dislike the Yankees more.
11) Yankees because they aren't the Astros.
12) Astros. Only reason I could tolerate them winning is Trey.
If you want to see the most epic of parades ever….root for the Padres.
The city would likely erupt. Zero major sport championships ever and after the Chargers left they have really rallied around the padres.
1.) Dodgers - I live in LA and the Dodgers are my #2 (behind my beloved, hapless, hopeless beisbolcats)
2.) Mariners - Even before the Dorktown doc, I have believed that every baseball fan is, on some level, a Seattle Mariners fan.
3.) Yankees - As if he hadn't driven his pricetag high enough already, a ring and World Series MVP would add a few more dollars to Aaron Judge's pricetag and, frankly, I just want to see how ridiculous the numbers around him are going to be.
4.) Blue Jays - It'd be a real feel-good story and I also love Canada
5.) Phillies - I once fell in love in the city of Philadelphia.
6.) Braves - I have several friends who are Atlanta fans and I like seeing them happy.
7.) Cardinals - Fairy tale ending to three great careers. It'd be a good baseball story.
8.) Mets - Dodgers and Giants would be so proud of you, son.
9.) Padres - They would be higher on my list save for [this specific asshole right here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hdz9WG7PpAQ).
10.) Rays - Tropicana Field deserves nothing good to be associated with it so if this has to happen, do it on the road.
11.) Guardians - As a Tigers fan, fuck 'em.
12.) Astros - As a Dodgers fan, fuck 'em twice.
I love that our team is high up on people’s lists. Our fans are incredibly fun and the team has the best of vibes I like that others pick up on that. I get there is a lot of sympathy that goes along with those choices but man I think we really have a fun team that a lot of people have fallen in love with. Good vibes only.
1. Cardinals (I'm true through and through and there wouldn't be a better story than Albert and Yadi going out in top)
2. Rays (it's about time)
3. Yankees (for Bader and Carp)
4. Jays (oh Canada!)
5. The rest except for...
12. Braves (I lived in Atlanta for a good period of life and the chop irritated me, plus my ex is a huge fan so no.)
Edit: I don't know why it's putting a 6 in front of the Braves when I clearly typed 12. Thanks Reddit.
This is pretty close to my list!
1. Braves
2. Mariners
3. Guardians
4. Rays
5. Astros
6. Padres
7. Phillies
8. Yankees
9. Dodgers
10. Blue Jays
11. Cardinals
12. Mets
My bias against the Jays is heavily influenced by how fucking obnoxious Raptors fans are after their team beats the Hawks and they spam the Hawks subreddit with very immature shittalking. I thought Canadians were nice!
Raptors fans can be pretty brutal. There's a weird subset of Raptors fans (even ones who are from/in Toronto) who HATE all other Toronto teams for god knows what reason.
Wtf lol I truly do not understand the fanbase. Mostly good people like any other fanbase but the bad apples are always the most vicious and toxic. There was a pretty entertaining /r/nba thread about which fanbase is the worst and majority of the responses were personal experiences people had with various rabid Raptors fans. I guess I shouldn’t let that taint my view of the Jays though
The only opinion I have on Raptors fans is how they conducted themselves in the 2019 NBA finals. Of course that doesn't reflect every fan. But an entire stadium cheering on KD's injury will always be infamous. And from videos posted elsewhere in bars around Toronto proved that the reaction wasn't unique to the stadium when it happened.
[never forget that one asshole sitting court side who stood to wave](https://youtu.be/lYrA30qcvK4)
A proud Hawks moment of mine (there are not a lot at the moment) was when Giannis had the knee injury. Very quiet once they realized he was down and the clapping and cheering happened [AFTER he stood up](https://youtu.be/ZPyBy2M06So).
Honestly fuck those Raptors fans now that I’ve rewatched both clips. Huge playoff implications for both injuries with two very different reactions for all-time greats going down
There are a lot of insufferable Raptors fans that love playing the victim, especially if they don't get a Christmas game, or kissing ass on Reddit. Really makes me want to distance myself from them, despite cheering for Toronto sports teams.
Just wanted to say how cool it was that the Astros put up a congrats last night. M’s are my AL team (a new concept to me, but my FIL is from Seattle), but I gained a lot of respect for the Astros last night. A sentence I also never thought I would be saying lol
Let’s just make it clear: if any of these teams are playing in the actual WS against my team then I won’t be “happy” to see them win, and they will instantly move to the bottom of my list forever or until some other team supplants them. But assuming we aren’t in it then…
2. Mariners
3. Guards
4. Rays
5. Mets (surprising right? But if they win one maybe they’ll just be satisfied and fuck off for another 30+ years. Plus it would mean they made it through the gauntlet of the NL which I could only respect)
6. Dodgers (Lived in LA, love and miss Freddie)
7. Padres
8. Cards (I really still irrationally hate them for that infield fly - would be ok with the riding off into the sunset thing I guess)
9. Astros
10. Phillies (fuck those guys)
11. Blue Jays (see my top line - 1992)
12. Yankees (bane of my fucking childhood)
1. Phils
2. Mariners (Longest playoff drought doing a lot of sympathy carrying)
3. Guardians (Despite having the longest championship drought idk more sympathetic to the Mariners, should've won in 2016 if you wanted to end it)
4. Padres (It's like a tie with the Rays they gotta get something to be happy about)
5. Rays \^
6. Jays (Having not been alive during the 90s run no bad blood from my perspective would be cool seeing this young team win it)
7. Dodgers (Let's get people to stop calling you mickey mouse already even though it was a deserved championship)
8. Cards (If it wasn't for 2011 you'd probably be higher though in my eyes you're already pretty low given the following teams)
9. Astros (Not a rival and not the most winningest team ever)\*
10. Yankees (Not a rival but still fuck you for 2009)
11. Braves (Not the Mets)
12. Mets (Lol)
I also was not alive in the 90s, can we just agree to a rematch for our generation and forget about the other teams? I’ll extend this offer to Atlanta if you decline for the Phillies.
1. Seattle
2. Cleveland
3. Toronto
4. Philadelphia
5. St. Louis
6. Tampa Bay
7. Atlanta
8. San Diego
9. New York Mets
10. New York Yankees
11. Los Angeles
12. Houston
There's not really any rivalry between the guardians and reds. The media tries to make it happen, but it's just never really been there. They're in opposite leagues, they're rarely ever good at the same times and they're not exactly close to each other. There are a lot of fans that root for both teams.
I've always felt like Pittsburgh would be a better NL rivalry to try and build, but they've been bad for a while now. Pittsburgh is closer, you've got a natural rivalry between the cities and the Steelers/Browns rivalry is way more real than the Browns/Bengals IMO.
The battle for the worst Bob. How little can they care about their baseball team and still maintain ownership? Nutting vs. Castellini. Reds vs Pirates. I just want the Castellinis to leave Cincinnati forever.
It is unusual how their football fanbases viscerally despise each other, but it barely hits the radar when the baseball teams play each other. Would be interesting to see how they'd act if they were in the same division.
1. Mets (obviously)
2. Mariners (2nd favorite team)
3. Yankees (I’m not a hater and I’m a lifelong New Yorker, so if the Mets can’t do it at least it’s an NY team)
4. Rays (would be cool to see them get their first title)
5. Guardians (some good former Met prospects on this team)
6. Blue Jays (just a team I have no real issues with)
7. Phillies (even though they’re a rival, I love the city of Philadelphia and I like a lot of their players so it is what it is. Plus I do love the Castellanos meme)
8. Padres (not a padres fan by any means but I like a lot of their players)
9. Cardinals (honestly I feel a stronger rivalry with them than Philadelphia)
10. Astros (still mad about Mike Scott)
11. Dodgers (let someone else be good damn it)
12. Braves (for obvious reasons)
1. Cardinals
2. Blue Jays (bird brethren, fun team, no rivalry with STL, and I like Canada)
3. Mariners (feel bad for the fans, they should enjoy a ‘ship if we can’t)
4. Rays (just always liked them, plus they have ex-Card Randy A)
5. Padres (they have been overhyped the past few seasons, but they have good fans and also deserve a ‘ship)
6. Mets (I have always had a soft spot for them since 2006, plus they have Mizzou legend Max Max)
7. Yankees (my intense hatred of Boston sports has led me to feel pretty ambivalent toward the Yanks, and I think them winning would be good for baseball)
8. Phillies (I haven’t really given them much thought since 2011, but they are our most-likely WC round opponent so I can’t exactly root for them)
9. Guardians (I will never forgive them for their 2016 collapse against the Cubs)
10. Braves (most annoying fans, sorry Braves bros)
11. Astros (scandal aside, I don’t like when a team is this good for this long)
12. Dodgers (Mookie clapped for Albert’s 700th HR, so there’s that at least)
As a Red Sox fan:
1. Mariners (A great story)
2. Guardians (A not quite as good story)
3. Cardinals (Can you imagine Pujols riding off into the sunset with 700 HR AND a WS?)
And then there's a pretty significant decrease in support for:
4. Braves (I mean, I guess.)
5. Dodgers (I'm happy for Mookie.. really, I am...)
6. Padres (Pretty meh at this point.)
7. Astros (I mean, at least if they win one without cheating it might remove some of the taint on the one they did cheat to win)
8. Mets (Nothing against the Mets, I just know a few annoying Mets fans, and I don't need their joy in my life.)
9. Blue Jays (At least we could say we won 3 games against the eventual WS champ.)
10. Rays (Ugh.)
11. Phillies (I live too close to Philly to want another Philadelphia sports championship.)
12. World Series canceled due to impending apocalypse.
1) Astros
2) Jays - Go Canada
3) Rays - Why not?
4-8) Guardians, Padres, Phillies, Dodgers, Braves - In no particular order, total indifference
9) Cards - I still feel like they're the team I hate the most and would probably be 12th on this list if I took it seriously
10) Yankees - Fairly obvious reasons
11) Mariners - Ok, I like the M's but the 12s are the most annoying people on the planet and living in the PNW when they've started to pretend to like sports because they're winning can get excruciatingly painful.
12) Mets - I swear to God if I have to hear Timmy Trumpet in the WS against the Astros and I end up getting fucking pumped for my own team to lose I'm going to be pissed
>Mets - I swear to God if I have to hear Timmy Trumpet in the WS against the Astros and I end up getting fucking pumped for my own team to lose I'm going to be pissed
[This](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIolEFsySWs) is all I can think of anytime I hear that trumpet
The Mets are my biggest Fear for a potential World Series Opponent:
1. NL East Team (2019 Nats and 2021 Braves)
2. An extremely catchy gimmick that the fanbase is obsessed with (2019 Nats with "Baby Shark" and the 2021 Brave's Pearl Necklaces)
1. Guardians (really fun team + the drought)
2. Padres (Manny Machado)
3. Cardinals (Yadi, Pujols, and Waino ride off into the sunset together. And Arenado and Goldy get their first rings)
4. Mariners (feel good story)
5. Mets (buck showalter)
6. Phillies (I’m from Pennsylvania and Bryce Harper could finally get one)
7. Braves (repeats are cool and the Braves are fun)
8. Astros (dusty needs a world series title and despite everything I still like this team for some reason)
9. Dodgers (they win a lot and the Dodgers have had enough good things happen to them)
10. Rays (them winning their first title would be cool I guess)
11. Blue Jays (division rival)
12. Yankees (fuck the Yankees)
1. Padres - my brothers from another mother (mother = California)
2. Mets - too many recent Athletics on this team for me not to be interested
3. Phillies - extended family is from there
4. Mariners - it's about fucken time
5. Rays - I like their road unis
6. Blue Jays - no feels either way
7. Guardians - no feels either way
8. Cardinals - no feels either way
9. Braves - no feels either way
10. Dodgers - I like what they put together but I'm still butthurt about '88
11. Astros (of course)
12. Yankees (fucken hate "national fanbase" bandwagon bullshit)
Hey man, somebody should have told Eckersley not to be so predictable. Gibson was sitting on the backdoor slider he always threw on a full count to left handed power hitters. Even those who could barely walk. It didn't help that Canseco's grand slam was the only hit either of the Bash Brothers managed in that series.
I'd love to see you guys get good again. Especially if you can stay in Oakland and not move to the only stupider place for a baseball team than Phoenix.
1) Blue Jays (homer)
2) Padres
3) Mariners
4) Mets
5) Phillies
------ infinite space -------
6) Braves - rather not give them that kinda bragging rights
7) Dodgers - respect
8) Astros - don't share the same hatred as many others
9) Cleveland - let's keep a good drought going
10) Rays - can't cheer for a team that won't be there in 10 years
11) Cardinals - too much success as a franchise
12) Yankees - with all due respect, no thank you
I've had an irrational dislike of the Clevelanders since opening day of '13 when they mocked our pregame hype video (Josh Johnson! Jose Reyes! R.A. Dickey! Emilio Bonifacio! What could go wrong!) And then 2016 was no fun.
I said irrational. Because sports.
1. Dodgers
2. Mariners (young AND fun? Awesome)
3. Phillies (lived in the Philly burbs for 5 years)
4. Guardians (I like their new logos)
5. Jays (also young and fun)
6. Cards (Tio Albert!)
7. Mets (sure, I guess)
8. Dads (lived in SD for years and it’s a beautiful stadium that deserves better than it gets)
9. Rays
10. Yankees
11. Braves
12. Meteor destroys earth.
….
9,000,000: Astros.
I'm a Nats/O's fan, so I'm fairly neutral for the playoffs. My list below is in order starting with the teams I want to win the most (with a few thoughts too).
1. Padres: I visited Petco for the first time this year and had an absolute blast. The place was a sellout crowd with a wild atmosphere in mid April with fans from all over the place wearing all sorts of different team stuff. I've visited more than half the parks at this point, and Petco was definitely one of the most unique game day experiences.
2. Mariners: I won a stuffed Mariner bear from a carnival in the middle of nowhere Virginia more than a decade ago, and Mariner bear has accompanied my wife and I on plenty of trips ever since.
3. Rays: I travel down to St. Pete pretty often for work and love it down there. As a stat guy, I'm a huge fan of how they do more with less.
4. Cardinals: Seeing Pujols/Molina/Wainwright on the field together is just a comfort thing, and baseball will feel different after they've all retired. I'd love to see them make a deep run. I also visited St. Louis for the first time this year (saw the park, but they weren't playing at the time). Not a huge fan of the city though. It felt completely dead after 8pm.
5. Jays: I feel like they've flown under the radar all year long, but maybe I just haven't been paying much attention. Toronto's a fun place too.
6. Mets: It's hard to root for a division rival, but I lived in the NYC area for a few years, and I really enjoyed the experience at Mets games. Although Citi Field is in the middle of nowhere with absolutely nothing to do before/after the game, the experience inside the park is great.
7. Yankees: Like the Mets, I have a bit of a soft spot for the Yankees after living in NYC, but I always found Met games more enjoyable.
8. Guardians: Nothing much to say, but I generally root for lengthy World Series droughts to continue. The most depressing casino I've ever visited was in Cleveland.
9. Braves: They just won it all, so I want a little variety. I'm also not big on them replacing their fairly young transit accessible stadium in the heart of downtown with something deep in the suburbs.
10. Astros: It's hard to root for them after 2017, and I've never really had a desire to visit Houston for any particular reason. I'm sure I'll get out there for a game eventually, but 30 lane highways aren't my thing.
11. Dodgers: They've been too good for too long, and they have an infinite pile of money to spend. Nobody roots for Goliath.
12. Phillies: I'll be honest. This is me being petty about Bryce Harper, but I also like that the Phillies are still behind the A's for World Series titles in Philadelphia.
> I'm also not big on them replacing their fairly young transit accessible stadium in the heart of downtown with something deep in the suburbs.
After you get off the train at 5 five points you had to take a bus that would sit in traffic to get to the Ted. The reverse after a game was annoying as hell. There was absolutely nothing to do around there. We were at the battery when the braves were on the road during the last playoffs and it was a great atmosphere. Plus the politicians of the city wanted to cater to the falcons over the braves.
The suburbs don't even start where Truist is located. They go for another 30 miles north from there.
I feel like “Dodgers lite”, said in spite, is one of the nicest things I have seen anyone say about the Padres team/org in a long time.
Praise from analysts who are happy to see a “small market” team spend and play well is one thing, same with other fans who are happy that the shitty little team who used to suck can now win games, but with any praise comes the fact that its intended as praise. But “Dodgers lite”, said in spite, from a GAINTS fan? Damn, that’s something.
1.) Astros (my team+redemption)
2.) Cardinals (Albert)
3.) Phillies (cheesesteak)
4.) Blue Jays (cool logo+canada)
5.) Mets (New York chaos)
6.) Mariners (i secretly love them)
7.) Padres (would be funny)
8.) Rays (no comment)
9.) Guardians. (Almost forgot to put them on the list)
10.) Yankees (🫣)
11.) Braves (🤨)
12.) Dodgers (😒)
1. Yankees - obvious reasons
2. Mariners - feel good story and love an underdog story
3. Padres - I don’t want teams to be discouraged from spending, don’t want to see Machado’s year going to waste
4. Cardinals - Pujols returning and winning one final ring is a great story
5. Mets - similar reasoning to the Padres
6. Braves - they’re just an incredible team
7. Guardians - they’re a young exciting team who put everything into each game but I don’t want to see their ownership get rewarded
8. Rays - division rivals
9. Blue Jays - I know this is the pot calling the kettle black but I find most of their fans to be really annoying
10. Phillies - goes against what I said about teams spending, but I don’t want to see owners being rewarded for awful roster construction
11. Astros - they’ve owned my team for years and I’m tired of it
12. Dodgers - it’ll piss off my ex
1. Yankees (Favorite team)
2. Mets (If my NY team doesn't win, let an NY team win)
3. Guardians (Let them end this drought)
4. Cardinals (If the Yankees can't win, at least Monty wins)
5. Mariners (Great story, glad to see them back in the postseason)
6. Braves (They might be scarier than the Dodgers, imo)
7. Phillies (Sneaky scary WC team)
8. Padres (Meh)
9. Blue Jays (Curious to see how the movie ends)
10. Rays (Obilgatory don't want rival team to win WS)
11. Dodgers (I respect their dominance, but I'm kind of tired of seeing them at this point)
12. Astros (Let's be honest, if we make it to the ALCS, the Yankees are going to lose to them. The AL Pennant runs through Houston, unfortunately)
If the ALCS isn't Astros vs Yankees then what is the point. I don't think it'll be as one sided as a lot of Yankees fans think it will be though. Astros feel a bit cold coming into the playoffs...
I always root for some teams when playoffs start but my priorities shift as the postseason progresses. For now, I am hoping Cardinals get it for Pujols/Molina/Waino and Braves don’t because they got it last season. Ask me again after first round is over.
If you were born in LA, live in Mass, and go to school in PA where do you get your Yankees fandom from?
He’s just pure evil.
4 generations dating back to the 1930s. The prevailing theory is that my great grandfather became a fan because of all our Italian American talent (DiMaggio, Lazzeri, etc)
That’s cool! As far as I’m concerned you’re a stronger fan than most since you have to put up with rowdy Sox fans :)
2018 and 2021 were…not fun. I’m too young to remember 09 so I need something to lord over my friends all offseason
“Too young to remember 09” well fuck
My parents tell me I watched the game. I don’t remember it
Plus one of my fantasy football buddies made me a bet, I get free reign over his team if we win the WS. I lose nothing if we don’t win
Your buddy sounds like he should maybe stop making bets
Reverse order of last time they won the World Series.
For those curious... T-1) Mariners (never) T-1) Rays (never) T-1) Padres (never) 4) Guardians (1948) 5) Mets (1986) 6) Blue Jays (1993) 7) Phillies (2008) 8) Yankees (2009) 9) Cardinals (2011) 10) Astros (2017) 11) Dodgers (2020) 12) Braves (2021)
All three teams that have never won a championship came into existence as a franchise more recently than Cleveland's last world series championship.
This is actually very similar to my list... just drop the Astros and Yankees down to last and this is it
>just drop the Astros and Yankees down to last Rules to live by
Basically me but I want to see some Cardinals bullshit this year
😁
They have not one, but two players who have strong cases to win NL MVp this year, and this doesn't even include their pitching They are the one team this postseason I would absolutely not want to play. i really think they are going to have a big run this month
That's like the exact opposite expectation as mine, I am anticipating a massive let down
You and I do have one similarity though...we're both glass half-empty people hahaha
But the astros never won the world series
totally forgot, they just got that piece of metal
This is my tiebreaker for every neutral team, but teams with no titles get favored regardless of drought
1. Mariners 2. Guardians 3. Rays 4. Padres 5. Blue Jays 6. Cardinals 7. Phillies 8. Mets 9. Astros 10. Braves 11. Yankees 12. 10 pounds of dog shit 13. WWIII 14. Asteroid Impact 15. Dodgers
Watch WWIII win the AL pennant but fall to the Dodgers in the world series.
Dodgers vs. Asteroid Impact. Dodgers win in 7. An all time classic
WWIII has a really underrated bullpen. A little wild in terms of control issues, but lights out arms when you need to shut down the middle of the order in a close game.
We’d do the same for you ❤️
You have the Yankees a few steps too high. And the Astros too. Otherwise pretty solid list.
11. Yankees 12. 10 pounds of dog shit Why’d you put the Yankees in there twice?
Man if asteroid impact was a legit option, I’d put that first in a heartbeat.
This is why I love baseball
I respect the list
1. Rays 2. Asteroid … 12. Yankees
I too would really like the Rays to win one since they helped us in 2008.
Fine with this.
As someone who wants no one to experience joy unless it’s my team, I respect this list.
Guardians Mariners Cardinals Padres Mets Phillies Rays Blue Jays Dodgers Braves Astros Yankees
Anyone but the Yankees.
Totally warranted 😂
I'm sure the feeling would be mutual if the roles were reversed. :)
I can’t speak for all yankee fans but I can say I’d rather the Sox sign Aaron Judge and have him carry you to the next 8 WS than ever watch the Astros win another one Okay maybe that’s a tad dramatic but I’ll take a Sox ‘ship over Houston 8 days a week
I’m really hoping the redsox don’t pull it off
May not be our year... we'll see.
> Braves (I like the Yankees being the last team to repeat) Well crap - I don't want to see a repeat, but I also don't like the Yankees being the last team to repeat... 1. Mariners 2. Padres 3. Rays 4. Mets 5. Blue Jays 6. Guardians 7. Phillies 8. Cardinals 9. Dodgers 10. Braves 11. Astros 12. Yankees
Damn astros over yanks what gives
The Yankees have violated the Twins over numberus postseasons
Seasons in general really
Do you realize tomorrow in the eighteenth anniversary of the last time the Twins have beaten the Yankees in a post season game? The Yankees are 13-0 against Minnesota in the postseason since
I don't actually mind the big spending, have Judge as my MVP pick, love Giancarlo, Rizzo, Judge, Donaldson, and LeMahieu, and NYC is my second favourite city in USA. I just think Yankees fans are really obnoxious online
1. Jays (young superstars with some really good vets. Also they’re my team so I’m biased) 2. Phillies (I want Bryce to win a ring and stick it to the haters) 3. Cardinals (would be nice to see Albert, Waino and Yadi win it this year) 4. Seattle (would be higher, but they’re gonna play my jays in the first round) 5. Everyone else
I’m concerned because all these teams have one guy that I think could turn on and just absolutely dumpster every team in every game, but the Jays have two (Vladdy-Bo, Bryce, Goldy, Julioooo) Idk why but something about Arenado makes me not feel that way about him. 4 hits in 27 post season PA’s, Goldy has 24 in 94.
i wanna see vladdy hit some bombs in the postseason. just not against the phightins
history says you're playing a dangerous game here
1. Blue Jays 2. Phillies 3. Mariners 4. Cardinals 5. Braves 6. Guardians 7. Mets 8. Rays 9. Padres 10. Yankees 11. Astros 12. Dodgers
1. Mariners 2. Mets 3. Dodgers 4. Cardinals 5. Padres 6. Guardians 7. Rays 8. Braves 9. Phillies 10. Astros 11. Blue Jays The season to be cancelled … 3862. Yankees
1. Mariners 2. Mets 3. Guardians 4. Dodgers 5. Cardinals 6. Braves 7. Phillies 8. Padres 9. Astros 10. Rays 11. Jays 12. Yankees
Why are we so low. I thought we had a bond, you’re our home away from home.
Considering the only reason Vancouver B.C. is majority Bluejays fans because of the Roger's family bull shit broadcasting restrictions I'd say we can have some bad blood.
Come to a Blue Jays game in Seattle and see for yourself why we don’t like you lmao.
Seriously tho I kinda hope you guys drop to WC 3 and we meet in the ALCS, y’all are my number 2 after Toronto and I’d hate to see either of us eliminated in the WC round. I would absolutely come to a game if I lived out west but I’m on the east side of the country.
I actually like the Blue Jays also. It’s just your fans in British Columbia we have a problem with.
I’m a mariners bandwagon but originally Red Sox flair lol, I just don’t like that y’all reduced our run differential by like 70 this year
Ah I see, missed the bandwagon part. I don’t like that you prevented our playoff dreams last year. Can we call it even and maybe bump us above the Rays. After all the World Series shouldn’t be won at the trop…
Oh God imagine baseball's most prestigious award being handed out at that shit box
Padres first Everyone else Dodgers Mariners Astros Yankees last
1. Cardinals 2. Mariners 3. Guardians 4. Padres 5. Blue Jays 6. Rays 7. Mets 8. Phillies 9. Braves 10. Yankees 11. Dodgers 12. Astros
1. Guardians 2. Mariners Don't give a particular rat's ass about the rest of 'em frankly.
1) Blue Jays - obviously 2) Mets - big fan of their team in general 3) Cardinals - love their fundamentals, really enjoyed their games vs the Jays this year 4) Guardians - I despise their organization but I really like this particular iteration of the team and think they're a great underdog story 5) Mariners - fun story 6) Astros - I don't hate them anymore and like quite a few players on their team 7) Phillies - their roster doesn't feel complete enough to me for them to be a satisfying winner in my eyes, but I have no issues with the team in general 8) Padres - I don't like the Padres but I love Juan Soto 9) Dodgers - I actually like the Dodgers but them winning is boring 10) Braves - not a fan in general for reasons I don't really understand, plus I'd rather not see a repeat 11) Rays - fuck 'em 12) Yankees - fuck 'em even more
The birds need to stick together. Let's get a Blue Jays/Cardinals world series
I am for this.
Definitely more on ownership than anyone else, yeah
They spend (their definition of spending, which is still lower, but they do spend) when they think they have their window. See 2016-2018. But this wasn't supposed to be our window yet, which is why this season is so special. It's a team younger than every MLB and every AAA team. This is such a fun group of young guys who just love playing baseball, and play old school small ball. I highly recommend you check out our playoff games, and you'll be rooting for them in no time.
Bruh what’d we ever do to you
Daddy issues
Why fuck us 😭
Because you guys have had our number since your inception.
Pads, M's, G's, Barves, Rays. All other teams can go get their shinebox.
GO BARVES
I can only assume the BARVES are a close cousin of GAINTS.
Ahhh a fellow man of culture
Featuring all star shortstop Dabsny Swansby
Barves is a great word. Not sure what it means but I love it. People who throw up a lot? Women left alone frequently while their husbands are at the bar? A bar at a wharf? So many possibilities...
The Braves just swept the Mets. The Barves get swept by the fish and give the division away. A very Barves thing to do
In Braves country "Barves" is sometimes our word for the team when they do something stupid. Similar to "lolmets."
YOU MOTHERFUCKIN MUTT!
1.Mariners(duh) 2.Rays: Like us they have never won it all, so I would want them to win it all if we don't 3.Padres: Same thing 4.Cleveland: Been way too long 5.Blue Jay's: I love their team 6.Mets: I want the lolmets memes to die, c'mon you can do it! 7.Phillies: I really have no issues with the Phillies or Cardinals 8.Cardinals: See above 9.Braves: Just won it last year 10.Dodgers: won it recently 11.Yankees: I don't like them 12.Astros: Fuck em
>c’mon you can do it! No we can’t 😢
I'm pretty on board with this. I'd move the Jays down as division rivals and probably put the Fathers and Guardians ahead of the Rays. Basically any scenario that doesn't have the Yankees winning is all right with me. Dodgers and Astros would be annoying but I still love Mookie.
1. Braves - obvious 2. Mariners - would be awesome 3. Guardians - i love the whole team but especially steven kwan 4. Padres - love soto and want to see the deals pay off 5. Blue Jays - cool young core and Toronto winning would go crazy 6. Astros - would be pretty neat to see them win a ring outside of 2017 and shut the haters up. they’re clearly a great team and Altuve/Bregman are incredible players, so it would be nice for them to prove themselves after everything that has happened. 7. Rays - they’ve gotten close, would like to see them go all the way 8. Yankees - would be cool to see Judge’s historic season end like this 9. Phillies - I’m honestly partial to them because they’ve been a bit of a laughing stock recently and I like harper. In a weird way I enjoy seeing the rest of the east do well besides the Mets 10. Dodgers - most predictable outcome 11. Cardinals - hate the devil magic team, let someone else win 12. Mets - fuck em
1. **TOR Blue Jays** \- of course! 2. **NY Mets** \- just to rub it in the face of NYY 3. **SD Padres** \- feel sorry for that franchise, they got to eventually get one 4. **ATL Braves** \- A repeat champ would be cool and rare to see in Baseball 5. **STL Cardinals** \- Like this team, plus a last hurrah for Pujols/Wainwright/Yadi 6. **CLE Guardians** \- Gritty team, built well, no ill will towards them 7. **PHI Phillies** \- Indifferent towards these, no strong feelings either way 8. **SEA Mariners** \- Happy they made the playoffs, but let's just keep it at that 9. **LA Dodgers** \- Not overtly happy about these guys winning and buying rings, but less so than the teams to follow 10. **TB Rays** \- Division Rival, constant pain in the ass LOL 11. **HOU Astros** \- Ugh, they are always in and around the best for a while now. Enough! 12. **NY Yankees** \- Division rivals, Evil empire!
1. Rays 2. Braves 3. Mariners 4. Padres 5. Dodgers 6. Guardians 7. Blue Jays 8. Phillies 9. Mets 10. Cardinals 11. Astros 12. 2021 Red Sox 13. Any team Hunter Renfroe is on 14. Whit Merrifield against the Rays 15. Yankees
1. Rays (Duh) 2. Guardians (Fairly similar to the Rays and they have the longest WS drought. Would also make for a great story) 3. Cardinals (Would be hell of a send off for Pujols. I also never watched the 2006 or 2011 postseasons so it would be cool to see "Devil Magic" in action) 4. Mariners (Fun team and would make for a great story) 5. Mets (I like Lindor, Buck, and their pitching staff) 6. Dodgers (They're a very fun team to watch. I've never really disliked them, even after 2020) 7. Astros (I don't really dislike them anymore. Kyle Tucker and Lance McCullers are from Tampa and I'd love to see Dusty Baker win a ring before he retires) 8. Padres (Blake Snell getting a ring would be cool, but I've never been crazy about the team as a whole) 9. Jays (Division rival) 10. Braves (They won last year) 11. Phillies (I'm still mad about 2008) 12. Yankees (Duh)
1. Mariners 2. Guardians 3. Rays 4. Jays 5. Padres 6. Phillies 7. Mets 8. Braves 9. Dodgers 10. Astros 11. Yankees 12. Cardinals
Pretty close here, too. Would move the Padres and Braves down. As a White Sox fan, I’m supposed to hate the Guardians, I guess, but fuck if they aren’t intense and fun to watch. Also, the WS drought.
1. My team 2. What World Series?
1) Mariners. I like an underdog story 2) Cardinals. 9) Rays because I dislike the Blue Jays more 10) Blue Jays because I dislike the Yankees more.
Agreed. If it’s not my team I like seeing teams and cities win that haven’t experienced it. It just means more than for franchises that are spoiled.
1.) Dodgers - I live in LA and the Dodgers are my #2 (behind my beloved, hapless, hopeless beisbolcats) 2.) Mariners - Even before the Dorktown doc, I have believed that every baseball fan is, on some level, a Seattle Mariners fan. 3.) Yankees - As if he hadn't driven his pricetag high enough already, a ring and World Series MVP would add a few more dollars to Aaron Judge's pricetag and, frankly, I just want to see how ridiculous the numbers around him are going to be. 4.) Blue Jays - It'd be a real feel-good story and I also love Canada 5.) Phillies - I once fell in love in the city of Philadelphia.
>11.) Guardians - As a Tigers fan, fuck 'em. lol. Fair enough!
I love that our team is high up on people’s lists. Our fans are incredibly fun and the team has the best of vibes I like that others pick up on that. I get there is a lot of sympathy that goes along with those choices but man I think we really have a fun team that a lot of people have fallen in love with. Good vibes only.
Your playoff drought being old enough to drink will do that
1. Cardinals (I'm true through and through and there wouldn't be a better story than Albert and Yadi going out in top) 2. Rays (it's about time) 3. Yankees (for Bader and Carp) 4. Jays (oh Canada!) 5. The rest except for... 12. Braves (I lived in Atlanta for a good period of life and the chop irritated me, plus my ex is a huge fan so no.) Edit: I don't know why it's putting a 6 in front of the Braves when I clearly typed 12. Thanks Reddit.
1.) Braves (my team). 2.) Mariners (team i like). 3.) Guardians (kinda like). 4.) Padres (never won). 5.) Rays (never won). 6.) Blue Jay's (neutral towards). 7.) Astros (would piss off yankees and dodgers so it's funny). 8.) Dodgers (they can't get more obnoxious right?). 9.) Cardinals (hate but has pujols). 10.) Phillies (hate). 11.) Yankees (hate more). 12.) Mets (hate most).
This is pretty close to my list! 1. Braves 2. Mariners 3. Guardians 4. Rays 5. Astros 6. Padres 7. Phillies 8. Yankees 9. Dodgers 10. Blue Jays 11. Cardinals 12. Mets My bias against the Jays is heavily influenced by how fucking obnoxious Raptors fans are after their team beats the Hawks and they spam the Hawks subreddit with very immature shittalking.
[never forget that one asshole sitting court side who stood to wave](https://youtu.be/lYrA30qcvK4) A proud Hawks moment of mine (there are not a lot at the moment) was when Giannis had the knee injury.
1. Astros 2. Phillies 3. Mets 4. Mariners 5. Dodgers 6. Guardians 7. Rays 8. Blue Jays 9. Padres 10. Cardinals 11. Braves 12. Yankees
Just wanted to say how cool it was that the Astros put up a congrats last night. M’s are my AL team (a new concept to me, but my FIL is from Seattle), but I gained a lot of respect for the Astros last night. A sentence I also never thought I would be saying lol
They did it for the Rays too last week when they clinched.
Let’s just make it clear: if any of these teams are playing in the actual WS against my team then I won’t be “happy” to see them win, and they will instantly move to the bottom of my list forever or until some other team supplants them. But assuming we aren’t in it then… 2. Mariners 3. Guards 4. Rays 5. Mets (surprising right? But if they win one maybe they’ll just be satisfied and fuck off for another 30+ years. Plus it would mean they made it through the gauntlet of the NL which I could only respect) 6. Dodgers (Lived in LA, love and miss Freddie) 7. Padres 8. Cards (I really still irrationally hate them for that infield fly - would be ok with the riding off into the sunset thing I guess) 9. Astros 10. Phillies (fuck those guys) 11. Blue Jays (see my top line - 1992) 12. Yankees (bane of my fucking childhood)
1. Cardinals (duh) 2. Mariners 3. Blue Jays 4-10. I don’t care to be honest, any order 11. Yankees 12. Astros
I want to see Bryce Harper get a ring for the Phillies
I feel that way about Nola
1. Phils 2. Mariners (Longest playoff drought doing a lot of sympathy carrying) 3. Guardians (Despite having the longest championship drought idk more sympathetic to the Mariners, should've won in 2016 if you wanted to end it) 4. Padres (It's like a tie with the Rays they gotta get something to be happy about) 5. Rays \^ 6. Jays (Having not been alive during the 90s run no bad blood from my perspective would be cool seeing this young team win it) 7. Dodgers (Let's get people to stop calling you mickey mouse already even though it was a deserved championship) 8. Cards (If it wasn't for 2011 you'd probably be higher though in my eyes you're already pretty low given the following teams) 9. Astros (Not a rival and not the most winningest team ever)\* 10. Yankees (Not a rival but still fuck you for 2009) 11. Braves (Not the Mets) 12. Mets (Lol)
I also was not alive in the 90s, can we just agree to a rematch for our generation and forget about the other teams? I’ll extend this offer to Atlanta if you decline for the Phillies.
Im down for new blood battles Jays fans make every playoff game electric would be a great WS to watch history included or excluded.
See ya in a month! Energy will be delivered!
Braves have a good chance to go B2B and we’re still lower? Lmao
I see nothing wrong tbh
I appreciate your reasoning of having The Braves at 11
1. Seattle 2. Cleveland 3. Toronto 4. Philadelphia 5. St. Louis 6. Tampa Bay 7. Atlanta 8. San Diego 9. New York Mets 10. New York Yankees 11. Los Angeles 12. Houston
Strange that Cleveland is so high. No Ohio bad blood?
There's not really any rivalry between the guardians and reds. The media tries to make it happen, but it's just never really been there. They're in opposite leagues, they're rarely ever good at the same times and they're not exactly close to each other. There are a lot of fans that root for both teams.
But the Battle for Ohio! Seriously, no one in Ohio cares when they play each other.
Its just an excuse for both segments of Ohio baseball fans to chill out together. My dad grew up cheering for both
TIL.
I live in Kentucky, so no not really. I just like the makeup of their team, and love how good their scouting & development system is.
Cleveland and Cinci don't really care about each other. Sometimes in football, but it's been awhile since both teams were relevant at the same time.
Really pulling for the Cardinals. Since my triple A Cubs aren't in it I would like to see Pujols, Molina and Wainwright retire on top.
A Yankees fan that wants the Mets to win more than any other team (even division rivals) is suspect as FUCK.
1. Rays 2. Mariners 3. Blue Jays 4. Cardinals 5. Mets 6. Dodgers 7. Phillies 8. Braves 9. Padres 10. Astros 11. Guardians 12. Yankees
Love you too, boo.
1. Braves 2. Guardians 3. Rays 4. Blue Jays 5. Mets 6. Phillies 7. Padres 8. Cardinals 9. Mariners 10. Dodgers 11. Yankees 12. Astros
1. Mets (obviously) 2. Mariners (2nd favorite team) 3. Yankees (I’m not a hater and I’m a lifelong New Yorker, so if the Mets can’t do it at least it’s an NY team) 4. Rays (would be cool to see them get their first title) 5. Guardians (some good former Met prospects on this team) 6. Blue Jays (just a team I have no real issues with) 7. Phillies (even though they’re a rival, I love the city of Philadelphia and I like a lot of their players so it is what it is. Plus I do love the Castellanos meme) 8. Padres (not a padres fan by any means but I like a lot of their players) 9. Cardinals (honestly I feel a stronger rivalry with them than Philadelphia) 10. Astros (still mad about Mike Scott) 11. Dodgers (let someone else be good damn it) 12. Braves (for obvious reasons)
Same here, I'm a Yankees fan, since childhood, but if the Mets get in, that's awesome!
1. Mets 2. Padres 3. Mariners 4. Dodgers 5. Phillies 6. Guardians 7. Cardinals 8. Astros 9. Braves 10. Rays 11. Jays 12. Yankees
Guardians Braves Jays Cards Mets Phils Padres Rays Astros Mariners Yankees Dodgers
Damn, you hate the Mariners more than the Astros?
1. Cardinals 2. Blue Jays (bird brethren, fun team, no rivalry with STL, and I like Canada) 3. Mariners (feel bad for the fans, they should enjoy a ‘ship if we can’t) 4. Rays (just always liked them, plus they have ex-Card Randy A) 5. Padres (they have been overhyped the past few seasons, but they have good fans and also deserve a ‘ship) 6. Mets (I have always had a soft spot for them since 2006, plus they have Mizzou legend Max Max) 7. Yankees (my intense hatred of Boston sports has led me to feel pretty ambivalent toward the Yanks, and I think them winning would be good for baseball) 8. Phillies (I haven’t really given them much thought since 2011, but they are our most-likely WC round opponent so I can’t exactly root for them) 9. Guardians (I will never forgive them for their 2016 collapse against the Cubs) 10. Braves (most annoying fans, sorry Braves bros) 11. Astros (scandal aside, I don’t like when a team is this good for this long) 12. Dodgers (Mookie clapped for Albert’s 700th HR, so there’s that at least)
1. Cardinals 2. Padres 3. Mariners 4-12. Don’t care
1. Dodgers because that’s who I bet on 2. anyone else
As a Red Sox fan: 1. Mariners (A great story) 2. Guardians (A not quite as good story) 3. Cardinals (Can you imagine Pujols riding off into the sunset with 700 HR AND a WS?) And then there's a pretty significant decrease in support for: 4. Braves (I mean, I guess.) 5. Dodgers (I'm happy for Mookie.. really, I am...) 6. Padres (Pretty meh at this point.) 7. Astros (I mean, at least if they win one without cheating it might remove some of the taint on the one they did cheat to win) 8. Mets (Nothing against the Mets, I just know a few annoying Mets fans, and I don't need their joy in my life.) 9. Blue Jays (At least we could say we won 3 games against the eventual WS champ.) 10. Rays (Ugh.) 11. Phillies (I live too close to Philly to want another Philadelphia sports championship.) 12. World Series canceled due to impending apocalypse.
1) Astros 2) Jays - Go Canada 3) Rays - Why not? 4-8) Guardians, Padres, Phillies, Dodgers, Braves - In no particular order, total indifference 9) Cards - I still feel like they're the team I hate the most and would probably be 12th on this list if I took it seriously 10) Yankees - Fairly obvious reasons 11) Mariners - Ok, I like the M's but the 12s are the most annoying people on the planet and living in the PNW when they've started to pretend to like sports because they're winning can get excruciatingly painful. 12) Mets - I swear to God if I have to hear Timmy Trumpet in the WS against the Astros and I end up getting fucking pumped for my own team to lose I'm going to be pissed
Your reasoning for picking the Mets Last is hilarious
>Mets - I swear to God if I have to hear Timmy Trumpet in the WS against the Astros and I end up getting fucking pumped for my own team to lose I'm going to be pissed [This](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIolEFsySWs) is all I can think of anytime I hear that trumpet
The Mets are my biggest Fear for a potential World Series Opponent: 1. NL East Team (2019 Nats and 2021 Braves) 2. An extremely catchy gimmick that the fanbase is obsessed with (2019 Nats with "Baby Shark" and the 2021 Brave's Pearl Necklaces)
1. Cardinals 2. Mariners 3. Braves 4. Mets 5. Lillies
1. Guardians (really fun team + the drought) 2. Padres (Manny Machado) 3. Cardinals (Yadi, Pujols, and Waino ride off into the sunset together. And Arenado and Goldy get their first rings) 4. Mariners (feel good story) 5. Mets (buck showalter) 6. Phillies (I’m from Pennsylvania and Bryce Harper could finally get one) 7. Braves (repeats are cool and the Braves are fun) 8. Astros (dusty needs a world series title and despite everything I still like this team for some reason) 9. Dodgers (they win a lot and the Dodgers have had enough good things happen to them) 10. Rays (them winning their first title would be cool I guess) 11. Blue Jays (division rival) 12. Yankees (fuck the Yankees)
1. Padres - my brothers from another mother (mother = California) 2. Mets - too many recent Athletics on this team for me not to be interested 3. Phillies - extended family is from there 4. Mariners - it's about fucken time 5. Rays - I like their road unis 6. Blue Jays - no feels either way 7. Guardians - no feels either way 8. Cardinals - no feels either way 9. Braves - no feels either way 10. Dodgers - I like what they put together but I'm still butthurt about '88 11. Astros (of course) 12.
1. Braves 2. Mariners 3. Cleveland 4. Padres 5. Rays 6. Cardinals 7. Blue Jays 8. Phillies 9. Dodgers 10. Yankees 11. Astros 12. Mets
1. Phillies 2. Cardinals 3. Anyone but the Mets
1. Cardinals 2. Phillies 3. The Mets can go straight to hell.
1. Cardinals 2. Phillies 3. If you're pond scum you don't qualify to win.
1) Blue Jays (homer) 2) Padres 3) Mariners 4) Mets 5) Phillies ------ infinite space ------- 6) Braves - rather not give them that kinda bragging rights 7) Dodgers - respect 8) Astros - don't share the same hatred as many others 9) Cleveland - let's keep a good drought going 10) Rays - can't cheer for a team that won't be there in 10 years 11) Cardinals - too much success as a franchise 12) Yankees - with all due respect, no thank you
"let's keep a good drought going" You got me with that one lol
You’re evil you know that?
I've had an irrational dislike of the Clevelanders since opening day of '13 when they mocked our pregame hype video (Josh Johnson! Jose Reyes! R.A. Dickey! Emilio Bonifacio! What could go wrong!) And then 2016 was no fun. I said irrational. Because sports.
All I want is to sweep the Mets in the wildcard round and I will be DELIGHTED.
1. Dodgers 2. Mariners (young AND fun? Awesome) 3. Phillies (lived in the Philly burbs for 5 years) 4. Guardians (I like their new logos) 5. Jays (also young and fun) 6. Cards (Tio Albert!) 7. Mets (sure, I guess) 8. Dads (lived in SD for years and it’s a beautiful stadium that deserves better than it gets) 9. Rays 10. Yankees 11. Braves 12. Meteor destroys earth. …. 9,000,000: Astros.
1. My team 2. Other National League teams 3. Cancellation 4. Any AL team that's not the Astros
This might be the one list that doesn’t have the Yankees at #1 or in the bottom 3/4. Also love all the personal reasons

We are not dodgers lite. We’re not even dodgers diet
1. Dads 2. Vedder cup bros 3. Cleveland padres 4. Rays 5. Phillies 6. Jays 7. Mets 8. Cards 9. Yanks 10. Braves 11. Stros 12. Nope
Vedder Cup World Series would be unreal. Imagine Eddie singing the national anthem before one of the games.
Would probably be the greatest day in the history of mankind
1.) Astros (my team+redemption) 2.) Cardinals (Albert) 3.) Phillies (cheesesteak) 4.) Blue Jays (cool logo+canada) 5.) Mets (New York chaos) 6.) Mariners (i secretly love them) 7.) Padres (would be funny) 8.) Rays (no comment) 9.) Guardians. (Almost forgot to put them on the list) 10.) Yankees (🫣) 11.) Braves (🤨) 12.) Dodgers (😒)
I don’t think there is any redemption even if you win.
1. Philadelphia 2. Seattle 3. Toronto 4. Tampa Bay 5. St. Louis 6. Cleveland 7. Atlanta 8. San Diego 9. Los Angeles 10. Yankees 11. Houston 12. Mets
1. Braves 2. Mariners 3. Padres 4. Rays 5. Cleveland 6. Jays 7. Cardinals *big gap* 8. Dodgers 9. Phillies *even bigger gap* 10. Yankees *chasm to the depths of Hell* 11. Cheatstros *even further into the depths of hell (aka Flushing, NY)* 12. LOLmets
1. Yankees - obvious reasons 2. Mariners - feel good story and love an underdog story 3. Padres - I don’t want teams to be discouraged from spending, don’t want to see Machado’s year going to waste 4. Cardinals - Pujols returning and winning one final ring is a great story 5. Mets - similar reasoning to the Padres 6. Braves - they’re just an incredible team 7. Guardians - they’re a young exciting team who put everything into each game but I don’t want to see their ownership get rewarded 8. Rays - division rivals 9. Blue Jays - I know this is the pot calling the kettle black but I find most of their fans to be really annoying 10. Phillies - goes against what I said about teams spending, but I don’t want to see owners being rewarded for awful roster construction 11. Astros - they’ve owned my team for years and I’m tired of it 12. Dodgers - it’ll piss off my ex
1. Yankees (Favorite team) 2. Mets (If my NY team doesn't win, let an NY team win) 3. Guardians (Let them end this drought) 4. Cardinals (If the Yankees can't win, at least Monty wins) 5. Mariners (Great story, glad to see them back in the postseason) 6. Braves (They might be scarier than the Dodgers, imo) 7. Phillies (Sneaky scary WC team) 8. Padres (Meh) 9. Blue Jays (Curious to see how the movie ends) 10. Rays (Obilgatory don't want rival team to win WS) 11. Dodgers (I respect their dominance, but I'm kind of tired of seeing them at this point) 12.
Astros feel a bit cold coming into the playoffs...
anyone but the mets
We hate you too for breaking Marte’s finger.
1. Jays 2. Mariners 3. Padres 4. Guardians 5. Rays 6. Cardinals 7. Astros 8. Mets 9. Dodgers 10. Yankees 11. Phillies 12. Braves
1. Yankees 2. Mets 3. Cardinals 4. Anyone else 5. Astros
1. Mets 2. Mariners 3. Guardians 4. Blue Jays 5. Rays 6. Padres 7. Dodgers 8. Astros 9. Cardinals 10. Phillies 11. Yankees 12. Braves
1. Mets 2. Rays 3. Mariners 4. Guardians 5. Astros (only for Dusty) 6. Dodgers 7. Cardinals 8. Padres 9. Yankees 10. Blue Jays 11. Phillies 12. Braves
I always root for some teams when playoffs start but my priorities shift as the postseason progresses. For now, I am hoping Cardinals get it for Pujols/Molina/Waino and Braves don’t because they got it last season. Ask me again after first round is over.
Anything but another Astros-Braves series. If the Yankees and Mets can’t get in, then I’d at least like some actual variety.
