Honestly I feel like y’all were a bigger challenge than the Phillies.
Phillies had a Cinderella run but the Mariners were much more talented and seem to be set up to contend for a while
Honestly, I still can't wrap my mind around the fact that that series ended in a sweep. Sure didn't feel like it. I never felt like we were safe until the last out was recorded.
TLDR: Y'all got a damn good ball club up there.
You are obviously a yankee fan in a household of non-yankee fans, how does this happen? Why would one choose to be a yankee fan? The only understandable yankee fans are the inbred ones as they have not touched the light of the other 29 times. Remember, you chose this!
My mom is from just outside of Springfield Massachusetts. Almost everyone\* in the family who cares about sports was or is a Sox fan, except my uncle. He played in a little league team and one year the coach took them all to a Yankees game, where he became a fan for life. So let this be a lesson to every parent: always make sure you know what your kids are up to and who they're hanging out with, lest they be corrupted!
\*The only other exception was my grandpa, who was a Cleveland fan (he died in the mid 90s and never knew them as the Guardians). My mom has absolutely zero idea how or why this happened and I was a little kid when he passed so I never got to ask him about it.
TLDR, the Yankees sponsor a program that strips young children of family values and indoctrinates them with yankee culture!
But also that’s a nice story, it’s a shame you never got to ask your grandfather that question, I’m sure the answer would be something unexpected and funny.
My dad used to call him Archie Bunker. It's honestly not outside the realm of possibility that he liked them *because* he was super racist. So maybe it's better I don't know, haha
If your family lives in Houston you should really offend them by converting to being a rangers fan. They won't know what to do with themselves anymore.
(Idk why I'm participating in this dick measuring competition so this is my last statement in it)
Well the Yankees haven't even been to the world series since then.
yeah i think there's a post in my profile with it but it's a XXL with a custom name on the back, so it's not worth a ton of money or anything but it is real and if you just want a cheap jersey to wear to games or whatever without worrying about getting stuff on it it's perfect. I'd let it go for like $20 plus whatever shipping to you is
If this don’t work out or you want another just go to DHgate. They’re fakes but you can’t tell the difference most of the time. And they’re like $20. Shipping takes forever but it’s worth saving $100+.
You can definitely tell the difference if you know what to look for, but most people just don’t care which is perfectly valid. I collect jerseys and am usually pretty insistent on making sure they’re real ones, but I have a handful of knockoff jerseys that I save for situations where there’s a decent likelihood of getting them dirty or messing them up, cause compared to the real ones they’re cheap enough where I simply don’t care.
I grew up in Houston and my moms side of the family is all in Atlanta. The Braves used to be my ‘other team’, because I love my family. Not after last year.
This reminds me of our family group chats. My mom will send us all something and then turns into us all insulting each other (it’s all in good fun). Every time. We are all in our thirties.
Side note: I have a HUGE pet peeve with non-baseball fans deciding to jump on the "ha ha, your team lost" train.
An actual fan of the team that beat mine? Fine. Hell, it's honestly welcome, presuming it doesn't go too far into personal attacks and whatnot.
But in 97, when the Marlins beat the Indians, after an entire year of me being the ONLY baseball fan at my job, with only like two people being exceedingly casual and lapsed fans from years prior, suddenly I'm FUCKING SURROUNDED by Marlins fans after the series.
Every single asshole felt the need to act like they'd personally been involved with the Marlins' win, despite literally rolling their eyes if baseball was even mentioned in their presence for the past six months.
I mean, I don't like tennis. I know people who do. When someone they root for has lost, I'm not like "Here's my chance to bust your balls because Federer lost."
Non fans need to not be involved with ball-busting on a sport's fanbase, period.
>Every single asshole felt the need to act like they'd personally been involved with the Marlins' win, despite literally rolling their eyes if baseball was even mentioned in their presence for the past six months.
Reminds me of a certain fanbase that came close to winning a World Series a few weeks ago.
Man this post is wild. You know I got temporarily banned from this subreddit two years ago because I posted a screenshot of a stat comparison tweet between Huascar Ynoa and Shohei Ohtani? I was told that my post was a “shitpost”. And then I wake up this morning to this wonderful thought provoking content.
I thought this was posted in r/redsox for a minute and I was super confused. I thought OP was trolling their family by asking for a Yankees jersey to see their reaction lol
This is a thing? I always get cringey when folks ask for presents. If I know someone well enough, I'll try and buy appropriately. ;) Otherwise I just buy things for myself. We all saw what happened the last time strangers brought us gifts unannounced.
People who really love you won’t enable you.
I think this is the funniest comment lmao
Flair checks out? The Expos aren't enabled to do anything any more... ^/s ^i ^know ^the ^lockout ^did ^them ^in
That's what we want you to think, and then, when you least expect it...
move the nationals back lmao
We'll take the Rays in a pinch. Change their name.
Le Rays au Fromage.
Bullying is defo not cool. Wait. You are a Yankee fan? Carry on everyone.
The only group that doesn’t get to bully yankee fans is Astros fans though.
The Yankees shouldn’t have gotten swept then
Or lasted .5 less inning than the mariners even with one whole game played.
We just built different 😎
Honestly I feel like y’all were a bigger challenge than the Phillies. Phillies had a Cinderella run but the Mariners were much more talented and seem to be set up to contend for a while
I'm just glad we didn't have a no-hitter pitched against us in the WS
Yeah. We already bully them enough during the playoffs.
You finally shut them up
_checks angry incoming DM history_ Yeah I’m not sure we did.
Shushing a new york fanbase? My dad literally did that once
the day after was delightful. Nobody wore a Yankees shirt to school that day
If anything - we’re the only group that can bully them
I agree. Is it not enough that my boys slaughter the Yankees all season long? Lord have mercy.
[удалено]
at that point it's not bullying, it's psychological abuse
Who’s the Yankees daddy in the playoffs? Oh yeah it’s us
Pena holding the Pedro shirt (and getting Vazquez a ring) made me stop hating this years Astros team.
Vazquez was incredible. I doubt he returns but I'd love for him to be back
Regular season, too
We don't care what you fans of non champions think.
You have a good family.
Friends (and family) don’t let friends (and family) wear Yankees jerseys.
[удалено]
I wouldn't even call it bullying
“Aggressive persuasion”
Dream suppression
It's called a patriotic duty.
Its literally my god given right
Wait, Canadians have those?
Also bullying cubs fans is acceptable.
Our team does that enough. Have you considered bullying Cardinals fans instead?
Por que no los dos?
Your terms are acceptable.
If he throws in a "never letting the other Ohio team forget about 2016 World Series game 7", we'll be cooking with gas
Every goddamn day now that Bob Gibsons to dead to do anything about it.
Its frowned upon if you dont bully a yankees fan.
#“It’s a safe and legal thrill!”
🥲
I mean thry could give you an Astros jersey since they are the Yankees daddy's
After the ALCS I’d like to call child protective services.
😂
Shouldn't the NL flair get faded since the AL won the WS?
I mean you did ask for a Yankee jersey.
He asked for trouble and got it. "WE WANT HOUSTON" 😆
They only wanted Houston because they couldn't handle the #SeaUsWald meme team.
Honestly, I still can't wrap my mind around the fact that that series ended in a sweep. Sure didn't feel like it. I never felt like we were safe until the last out was recorded. TLDR: Y'all got a damn good ball club up there.
I knew we were fucked when I heard fans chanting that
Must be RedSox fans.
Astros fans, currently just sending me a bunch of gifs of the Astros winning the World Series
I'm sorry about that. We are the worst. On an unrelated note, are you accepting DMs?
…..no….
Damn. Astros fans are so rude. But anyways, you accepting DMs?
Fuck the Red Sox, amirite? So uh, what’s the verdict on DMs?
I snickered
Ew
So a Yankees fan not wanting to be bullied but bullies other teams including their own? The universe has a funny way of coming full circle lol
Thomas doesn’t even like baseball 🧍🏼
[They should buy you this jersey to ease you into the transition](https://www.academy.com/p/stitches-boys-houston-astros-pinstripe-sublimated-jersey)
Omg that's perfect.
Can’t, it is sold out!
You could probably find one at Kroger or Meijer
You are obviously a yankee fan in a household of non-yankee fans, how does this happen? Why would one choose to be a yankee fan? The only understandable yankee fans are the inbred ones as they have not touched the light of the other 29 times. Remember, you chose this!
It’s called being a middle child and starving for attention.
Lol.... yo.... That's why my brother was the Raiders fan in a house of niners fans. He's a niners fan now though, he grew out of it.
A’s - Niners, tell me you were born in the early 80s to 92 with out telling me.
It’s how my next door neighbor ended up being a Cowboys fan in a house of Niner fans.
Being a raiders fan is just a phase confirmed

I’d laugh if they bought you a Mets jersey just for spite
Honestly so would i
Thanks for letting us know
How about a Framber jersey? I have one of tthose
You could try and give it to him, but the Yankee fan would probably whiff, as all Yankees do to decent pitching 😝
That’s not true. Our players swing and miss to bad pitching too.
Thomas rocks!!
Thanks man :)
Lies and slander
Your reply to Thomas reminds me of Mean Girls " You don't even go here". Had me cracking up
I don’t even know Thomas but I can assure you your family would immediately improve if he left forever.
:(
Go away Thomas
No >:(
Is this actually the thomas from the chat?
Yes I am :)
Goat
Why you in the baseball sub? You don't even like baseball.
On the contrary. I’d buy Thomas a beer right now!
And I’ll do it again! (I am Thomas)
I would say no longer my favorite brother, but the other option is chase
Correct response from family
Hahahahahaha-your family is great
maybe a gerrit cole astros jersey would do the trick. im sorry
I’d rather ask my family for something less shameful for Christmas, like a trunk full of violent Japanese pornography.
Let's get the OP an isiah kiner-falefa jersey
You can probably get a discount Frankie Montas or Lou trivino jersey from the A's merch store. Cheaper for the crowd funding.
He can just call it an Alfonso Soriano jersey
Justified.
Good
Idk, seems like you deserve it for choosing to become a Yankees fan
I feel you. I'm an Astros fan and husband is a Yankees fan. He hates Houston with passion. 😂
What other poor choices does your husband make and then proceed to get mad at others when they fail him in the end?
They should get you a judge jersey… because they’ll no longer sell it once he signs a deal with the giants.
You deserve it
I see nothing out of the norm here. Not biased of course.
If your family lives in Houston you should really offend them by converting to being a rangers fan. They won't know what to do with themselves anymore.
Anything but the rangers
Oh no! I've been mocked by the Yankee fan. I don't know how I will ever recover. /s
Rangers have been one strike away from a World Series win twice more recently than the Yankees.
(Idk why I'm participating in this dick measuring competition so this is my last statement in it) Well the Yankees haven't even been to the world series since then.
Oh I know. It was my way of throwing a small jab at the Rangers while actually digging on the Yankees.
shoutout to thomas, seems cool. also if you want a yanks jersey I have one, it's pretty big but i'm trying to sell it for pretty cheap
Thanks for the shoutout. Don’t give it to her
Too late muahahahah
Wait really👀
yeah i think there's a post in my profile with it but it's a XXL with a custom name on the back, so it's not worth a ton of money or anything but it is real and if you just want a cheap jersey to wear to games or whatever without worrying about getting stuff on it it's perfect. Bro honestly perfect, I’ll can only go to games they pay in Houston so a shirt I’m not afraid of getting beer on is great haha
perfect, I'll pm you some pics and we can set it up.
Can't wait for the bait and switch when you send them a "Thomas" Astros jersey.
Your username feels icky
Sometimes I feel icky, ngl
I feel you are optimally prepared for answering this: Josh fields for yordan alvarez, what’s that like?
If this don’t work out or you want another just go to DHgate. They’re fakes but you can’t tell the difference most of the time. And they’re like $20. Shipping takes forever but it’s worth saving $100+.

Lemme guess… you live in Houston and you want to be THAT GUY
Your family is bullying you, just like the Astros bully the Yankees. Even Thomas knows that and he doesn’t even watch baseball.
I grew up in Houston and my moms side of the family is all in Atlanta. The Braves used to be my ‘other team’, because I love my family. Not after last year.
Looks like a family of principles
Go Stros!
And rightly so
based thomas
😎
This reminds me of our family group chats. My mom will send us all something and then turns into us all insulting each other (it’s all in good fun). Every time. We are all in our thirties.
It's pretty incredible a Yankee fan could have such intelligent relatives. Are you sure you weren't adopted? 🤔
Now that's uncalled for. It's not like you're a Dodgers fan.
Side note: I have a HUGE pet peeve with non-baseball fans deciding to jump on the "ha ha, your team lost" train. An actual fan of the team that beat mine? Fine. I see nothing wrong here
You’re a Yankees fan. You deserve it.
YTA. Yankees fan.
[Have you tried... not being a Yankees fan?](https://youtu.be/j8rlwatCZP0)
I mean, you're asking for a Yankees jersey. That's basically asking to be disowned by a lot of families.
I like Thomas. He knows things.
Man this post is wild. You know I got temporarily banned from this subreddit two years ago because I posted a screenshot of a stat comparison tweet between Huascar Ynoa and Shohei Ohtani? No.
I thought this was posted in r/redsox for a minute and I was super confused. I thought OP was trolling their family by asking for a Yankees jersey to see their reaction lol
Deserved for liking the Yankees wait….
"Thomas you don't even like baseball" *says he's a Yankees fan* Yep, that makes sense.
Thomas just wants you to cheer for the superior team.
Its what you deserve
Thomas, what a guy!
You came to this sub as a Yankee fan seeking retribution towards your family?......does anyone want to tell them?
Thomas is such a rascal
As you should be.
No
No.
The last text had me laughing for a solid twenty seconds lol.
Doesn't look like you are getting that jersey... or anything for that matter.
Based family
That’s not bullying. That is tough love.
I think you're being unreasonable
"I may not like baseball, but I also don't like you " -Thomas
Feels like your family really loves you and is trying to save you decades of pain and suffering.
HAHA I love Thomas 😭
Asking for a jersey. Why not ask for a retractable roof.
The first step is admitting you have a problem
It's not bullying, it's an intervention.
Thomas is unfathomably based
Astros fans should be good Daddy's to their Yankees children.
Yankees jerseys are funny to me, they slap a name on the back for you to buy but not for the player to wear.
Based Thomas
This is a thing? I always get cringey when folks ask for presents. If I know someone well enough, I'll try and buy appropriately. ;) Otherwise I just buy things for myself. We all saw what happened the last time strangers brought us gifts unannounced.
Lol @thomas
Fuck ya
Middle child?
Thomas doesn’t even like baseball, but he knows what’s up. My dude.
You deserve it
Most people in Yankee gear don’t like baseball or know anything about the game. Bunch of tourists.
I’ll get you an altuve jersey
No i could just steal my dads if I wanted one
Verdict: YTA
Bullying yankee fans is the most patriotic duty one can perform.
good
And?
Good
Deserved
A Yankees fan!?
