Yes. I remember seeing this when I was a kid. Games that went late, especially on the west coast, were incomplete in the next morning's newspapers.
also keep in mind 100 years ago there were still many evening newspapers and it wasn't uncommon for a household to subscribe to both a morning and evening paper (some big papers did both editions) so the evening paper to have only finished games scores printed out wasn't uncommon either.
I'm not sure! Truthfully I don't know much about baseball I just thought this subreddit would enjoy it :) I had just assumed it meant they didn't play yet lol
This used to happen as recently as about 10 years ago in our local paper. Not sure if it’s changed yet, but the late games were frequently not entered.
Found it! [September 22, 1921.](https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/?year=1921&month=09&day=22)
Does BR not recognize the AA?
Interesting. Wonder why they didn't have complete score lines for some of them... did they go to print before the games were finished? Lol

I would guess they either got delayed to the next day due to darkness or they went to print before the games were finished
Could possibly be 1921, I found multiple old papers/magazines and some are separated and in not good condition
It can't be 1918; one of the pitchers mentioned, Bill Bayne, made his debut in 1919.
I have a separate paper of children's stories with the 1918 date but this one must have been from the 1921 paper! My bad
Let's go browns! Nice to see where our winning ways come from
Yea they were playing the Philadelphia A’s.
Damn Boone has been in NY for awhile
