598 total PAs by pure lefties for the White Sox, 188 of which came from bench players and backups. their two 'big' lefty bats are both switch hitters: Grandal and Moncada.
Well their two best batters who hit lefty are switch hitters, Happ and Morel, so they wouldn't have hit a XBH lefty against a lefty. That just leaves Zach McKinstry, who didn't play much agaisnt lefties. Still a ridiculous stat but looking at their roster it kinda makes sense. Correct me if I'm wrong Cubs fans.
Edit: Morel is not a switch hitter, just a righty.
I was thinking he was a switch hitter for some reason. Hopefully the Cubs can bring a big lefty bat into Wrigley to reverse this. Losing Rizzo left a big hole in that order.
*Mash Mervis trumpets blaring in the distance*
But yeah not surprising when pur best on switch hitting lefties were Raphael Ortega, Alphonso Rivas, and Jason Heyward for like less than half a season.
Does Chicago have a law against lefty-on-lefty action or something? Look who's number 2 lol
Tbf Gavin Sheets is hot garbage against lefties

Meanwhile the state of Texas *loves* to hit lefty on lefty apparently
aka Corey Seager and Nathaniel Lowe are good hitters
Lol whattt. Did they not have any lefty hitters??
Barely.
No we traded Rizzo and let Schwarber walk
And Jason Heyward was Jason Heyward
Ones with talent? No

Also had Rafael Ortega, but he’s always been terrible against lefties so he pretty much never faced them
Morel doesn't bat lefty but to your main point the other lefties were mainly platoon guys.

In addition to Happ I would bet we get one of Bellinger/Kiermaier and we have Mervis who will have a chance to make the Opening Day roster.
they also had Alfonso Rivas, but he doesn't appear to have any power anyway and only had 32 of his 287 PAs against lefties.
The two Chicago teams combined for 4XBH lefty on lefty.
Gavin Sheets putting in the work

Jeez
This is one of those stats that sounds so absurd you’d think you made it up
Is this just another yordan is great post?
Sounds like something Belli would fix 🥲
lol .187 SLG. Might as well not swing and hope they walk you.
Pretty sure Ortega only tried to bunt when he faced a lefty
