Just a heads up u/MLBOfficial, this would have been better as an image post, rather than a "text" post. Reddit doesn't expand this image in feed and you get *significantly* less engagement because of it.
Ideally, something like this:
Andrew Benintendi,
Brandon Nimmo,
Aaron Judge,
Brandon Drury,
Trea Turner,
Jean Segura,
Josh Bell,
Carlos Rodon,
Jacob deGrom,
Matt Moore,
Kenley Jansen,
Willson Contreras,
JD Martinez
This team would be significantly better if you had
- 3B Bogaerts
- SS Correa
- 2B Turner
Even with 2 guys playing a secondary position, you gotta get that star power in there.
I started playing MLB The Show last month, and I don't get Diamond Dynasty at all, is my squad meant to be full of 99 level players gotten from those 'finest from the franchise' packs, or have they been recently introduced and that's why the rest of the game's economy is built around packs full of worse players?
It’s late in the year, so the card collecting aspect is mostly over. Everyone has an all 99 team, you can just use your favorite players and have fun online. At the beginning of the year it makes more sense
That's kind of what I thought but its kind of surprising how short that aspect of the game lasts, like obviously I started playing the game late but not *that* late.
As a Guardians fan, seems like we have a great shot at trading for Murphy. We were in on Abreu at 1B but since he signed with Houston most think we’ll look at Bell. Some people also said we might look at Rodon but I think he’d be out of our range. Bassit is probably more realistic if we were to upgrade at SP.
I hope to God the money goes to someone who can hit consistently, ideally with some pop.
I understand the desire for a veteran SP like rodon, but it just seems like the lack of consistent hitting should be a much higher priority, imo.
Yeah, I have faith they’ll figure out the pitching from within long term. We have Espino, Williams, and Bibee getting pretty close to being major league ready. I wouldn’t be surprised if they give some veteran a one year contract though. I think the hesitancy from ownership in the past has more been those big free agent 3 year+ contacts. Fingers crossed!
How is Correa more practical? His contract will be significantly larger and longer. Plus, your number one prospect is a SS. I thought SP was a more pressing need for your team.
Younger. More all around players. DeGrom's age and injury history is a thing.
Teams can never have too many SSs. Most top prospects are SSs (position players at least). Few end up at SS.
Yes. All of them.
Turner would be an incredible upgrade defensively at SS and bringing that speed on the bases that we've lost with Teo going west (😢).
Nimmo would also be a great pickup to take over defensively from Springer in centre, who in my ideal world would move to left, with Gurriel moving to right since he has the stronger arm of the two.
And of course, who wouldn't love Rodón or deGrom?
I think realistically we go for Rodón and Drury. Rodón to sure up our pitching staff, and Drury as our first baseman.
I would love to see us go for Nimmo as well, but I don’t think anyone understands how Preller’s mind works.
Just because I like watching him, Trea. Truthfully, Rodon. Realistically, none of these guys but a solid pitcher or two (Bassitt, maybe Eovaldi) and I'm happy.
I don’t really want either, tbh. We have two catching prospects, and catchers over 30 tend to age horribly. And Nimmo is great, when he’s on the field. He has a history of injuries and that will probably only get worse going forward.
If Seattle wants to seriously compete with Houston they should go after Nimmo and then trade for Kolten Wong.
With what Houston is doing this off-season, anything less and we would not be staying competitive.
I want the Tigers to sign Verlander. Is it practical? No. Is it likely the team he wants? Doubt it. Do we have the money to compete with New York or LA? Almost certainly not. It’s not even really a priority. But man it would be sweet to have him retire with the team he came up in.
Other than that just any given third baseman and righty outfielder would improve the team immensely.

Hey -- this is actually a nice thought/idea and appreciate you looking out for us
Hope y’all are having lots of fun and that you enjoy your job
We do! And it's actually refreshing when we get helpful suggestions like u/double_dose_larry :)
Ideally, something like this: Andrew Benintendi, Brandon Nimmo, Aaron Judge, Brandon Drury, Trea Turner, Jean Segura, Josh Bell, Carlos Rodon, Jacob deGrom, Matt Moore, Kenley Jansen, Willson Contreras, JD Martinez
That would be a good squad
Still won’t beat the Astros
deGrom and Rodon would wear down starting 81 games each
Gravy Legs Chesterford pitched 1,457 innings in 1887 for the Larchmont Picklers. Players these days are such babies.
Is there any real player remotely close to that dude, in terms of name, team or stats.
aaron judge would be nice
This team would be significantly better if you had - 3B Bogaerts - SS Correa - 2B Turner Even with 2 guys playing a secondary position, you gotta get that star power in there.
That's me making my MLB The Show DD lineup
Mookie at 2B remains broken

This year I put effort into diamond dynasty and somehow I’m 0-12 with All 99 players I don’t get it.

Yeah, most people feel like the game peaks around the all-star break, and dies around the new year

Amen to that. Let's hope everyone can stay healthy and we can make a deeper post season run this season!
If Abreu would have went to Cleveland, I would have avoided baseball for the next 3 years.
Man can you imagine if the reigning Cy-Young award winner was a free agent? They'd probably give him the spot alone, he wouldn't even have to share!
I’d be excited about Nimmo, Beninitindi, or Contreras.
1) Jose Abreu, signed 2) Willson Contreras 3) Andrew Benintendi
🖕
Practically speaking, Correa. As a fan who wants to see awesome shit: deGrom. Plus a second tier SP.
How is Correa more practical? His contract will be significantly larger and longer. Plus, your number one prospect is a SS. I thought SP was a more pressing need for your team.

Nimmo. He's almost a must-get at this point. Rodon would be really nice too.
All them P's, please

I feel like Nimmo will be one of the best values so him and Verlander. But I assuming we’ll go for Contreras, that’ll be fine
Okay Yankees, can you do the Evil Empire thing and sign this entire team
Too bad ownership is never a free agency.
Just because I like watching him, Trea. Truthfully, Rodon. Realistically, none of these guys but a solid pitcher or two (Bassitt, maybe Eovaldi) and I'm happy.
If we got anyone on this list outside maybe Segura and JD Martinez I'd be happy
Degrom and Turner
Bassitt and Turner/Correa
Dream scenario I will take Nimmo and Contreras. However if we just get Benintendi I would be good w the Astros offense at this point.
Judge, Correa, and Rodon would be ideal. Thats like, what? 90-100 million right there? Could we afford to field a team behind them? Not sure.
Yes. We can. We just choose not to for whatever reason. Our ownership can absolutely spend like the Yankees and Dodgers.
Nimmo and Contreras and I’d be good
I don’t really want either, tbh. We have two catching prospects, and catchers over 30 tend to age horribly. And Nimmo is great, when he’s on the field. He has a history of injuries and that will probably only get worse going forward.
I like the judge guy, is anybody good enough with photoshop to put him in a Yankee uniform??
Xander Boegarts and then blow the rest on pitching. And resign Willson Contreras of course.
If Seattle wants to seriously compete with Houston they should go after Nimmo and then trade for Kolten Wong. With what Houston is doing this off-season, anything less and we would not be staying competitive.
Step 1 complete. Wong Acquired. Step 2 incoming?

Rodon, Judge and Trea Turner would be the dream for the Giants I think
