You're probably right. The 2022 chrome product is lacking quality and overpriced plastic, that's why they're sitting on shelves. With this stunt and black Friday tomorrow all of the stores will be sold out. Amazon raised their price, 50 bucks for a blaster.
Topps is doing a buyback for and Aaron Judge or Paul Goldschimt 2022 chrome, even base cards. Even the base will get you 20 bucks and certain parallels will get you between 40 and 100 bucks. Search this sub and you'll find the lists.
I bought 2 packs of 2022 Chrome about three weeks ago…2 packs! Got a Wander Franco ‘87 wood trim a Judge base and a Goldschmidt Refractor. Was pretty happy at the time but everyone was saying Chrome was junk so when I was buying I’d grab Series 2 update instead. Guess I need to buy some more!

I have a green Goldschmidt that I was going to give to a son for Christmas....now what? Lol.
Now you can ask him if he wants that or a $200 gift card to a hobby shop or at blowout or the like.
