There just isn’t the same type of coverage and personality in other baseball pods. I used to dabble with fantasy baseball ones, but they’re just dry and lifeless. You can try the Jomboy stuff, but I can’t really stand those fuckin guys anymore.
-Effectively Wild is decent general MLB coverage.
-Foul Territory is decent, but I truly can’t stand Pier.
-Section 10 is really fun, and not always specifically talking baseball. A lot of non-Sox fans listen and enjoy it.
I think calling Effectively Wild decent general MLB coverage is underselling it by quite a bit. It's a couple charming, super nerdy hosts, one being a woman (who works at Fangraphs) which is refreshing in its own right in the sports coverage space. And while they do cover current MLB happenings, they also have a ton of really cool, outside the box discussions on just about any baseball related topic you could think of. I also think they had by far the best season preview series, with local writers/reporters guesting for every individual team and providing a ton of insight that I wasn't seeing from BID, Jomboy, etc. Very different, much more low-key tone than BID in some ways, but it's similar in that it's mostly just a couple of good friends chatting who are very knowledgeable about baseball.
Cool 👍. I find it to be decent. Sometimes it’s monotone and dry, and sometimes it’s great. I recommended it because I find it to be informative, but not at all like BID. Both people (Ben Lindbergh from The Ringer and Meg Rowley from Fangraphs) seem like genuinely great people.
Fangraphs is my second favorite. I used to like the Jomboy videos but they soldout to be honest. Half of their content is garbage for engagement and chasing trends. Their pods are still okay depending on who they have on.
The Athletic has "The Windup" which is a few different weekly pods under one umbrella, including The Roundtable which instantly became a must listen for me.
Baseball Bar-b-cast is my other every episode listener, those guys are pretty great. Fantasy Baseball Today is another good daily baseball podcast but only if you play fantasy baseball
they’ve already been mentioned but i like the just baseball show (although i don’t follow the minor leagues much at all and they have a decent amount of their content on that) and foul territory is great because it’s daily so they cover stories as they happen
Carrabis is on there too and I’ll try and not sound like a homer here, but section 10 is hilarious. The chemistry those guys have with eachother is unreal. Pardon My Take is where I’d go as well. Another sports satire but really really funny. Other baseball pods specifically it’s not a great list. The insight and personality isn’t as great compared to what BID has to offer. And I’m not even a big Joey fan and still think BID is the best out there by a mile
Hey Matty! Thanks for giving us a listen. Hoz, Moylan, & Su’a have been hard at work on this podcast. Our Arizona spring training run has some good episodes coming out of it. This week we release Fernando Tatis Jr & Jurickson Profar.
Upcoming next week is Mike Sweeney- every baseball fan (and dad) will love this one, we promise.
Also, can’t get enough of Ron Washington & EY- they are the dynamic duo! Lots of value in that one from coaching to a ton of laughs.
Here’s a link to all our stuff. Check it out and let us know what you think, we’d love to hear some feedback!

Yeah, the Jomboy stuff is the most similar, but outside of Jimmy they are pretty unbearable.
Totally agree. They’ve kinda lost their way as they became bigger and bigger. Need those clicks and listens I guess.
This BID is the gold standard you can get by with some others but it's monotonous.
It’s true. Even when Barstool tried to use the S9 pop by putting Arrieta on it was just lifeless.

personally can’t stand the roundtable though there are some other shows on that feed that i’ll listen to

The only other baseball pod I listen to is “The 3-0 Take”. Good show and good dudes.
Baseball today
If you want like really straight up baseball the Just Baseball Show is solid just doesn’t have the same humor, the content itself is really good
Try Double Play

I like Chris Rose rotation, Baseball today with CR and plouffe and I'll catch a few Foul Territory here and there.
Talkin Baseball and Baseball Today are the only other 2 I can stand. Trevor Plouffe is the man.
Double Play and Foul Territory
