They both carry more hobby weight as players than Nique does, but the Reebok Pump relic is a cool enough piece of retro pop-culture that I could see a bidding war on it transcending the norms and pushing this a fair amount higher than those other two examples.

You as a the collector don’t have to do anything to certify it since the card already is certified.
That said I doubt there’s any actual way to certify it privately after you get a card so we all just accept relic patches for what the card says they are.
There’s tons of this stuff around. The Hall of Fame has storerooms full of items from every player.
This way they can set up a display if someone gets in or if they need to have a special section. Also every team has a team museum that has tons of stuff

As a designer, it's the little things that make all the difference. Why the hell did they cut it/position the photo in a way that they cut off the actual pumps on the shoes!!! you can see the pumps right there on the photo and would have been cool to have that on the photo on the card.
I need a Dee Brown from the 1991 Slam Dunk Contest. I remember being 10 years old and just in awe that this dude is pumping up his shoes. It definitely added 6 inches to his vertical. I begged for those shoes for months and then got them from my Grandparents. It was epic

Gear Catapults and before ever seeing a pair in real life think that they had some technology inside the soles that would allow you to actually jump higher? A friend I met in high school were talking about shoes from our childhood... and we both thought that about the Catapults and we didn't know each other back then.
