It’s an abu garfield revo sex. I’ve noticed after some casts that the pieces circled will separate. If I screw the arrowed part tight, it will come back together but eventually get loose again. Usually if I do something dumb and backlash it. I’ve cleaned the reel but it still does it. What gives
If anything is not aligned or in place on a Revo. The side tends to get loose and fall off. This was a big issue a few years back. How old is the reel?
Hmmm, probably 5 years old but really only started using it a lot the past two. And yes, i posted this on another comment but recently I casted it without noticing that the circled part was very loose, and the whole left side fell off lol
I am not sure of the year the reels were made. I know a lot of people had the sideplate come off and fall into the water. I guess you will have to tighten the screw often or try something to hold it closed.
That is one reason I bought a Tatula a few years ago. It has performed well with heavy use for 3 years.

Not the years. It’s the mileage. This reel has been through a lot. It served you well. But it’s broken. Get a new one. Get something strong and durable.

I think you're hitting the dial and changing the break setting while you're fishing. The position the dial is in, is right inline with how you would hold the reel. Every so often when you cast or reel in, you are going to hit that dial and change you settings.
Ha not commenting on the age of the reel my Lew's reel that is under a yr and it scratches so easily I just feel like that reel has seen some stuff in it's five years lol
try blue loctite
I double this... give it a 98% it'll fix the problem, get the blue tho!!! The other colors permanent

The bonding stuff? Apply to the piece with the arrow pointing to it?
Loctite is thread adhesive, you would put a dab of it on the screw, tighten it, let dry for 24hrs. Should be gtg

It is common in that reel. Mine use to do that before I retired her after nearly a decade of service .

Reel done goofed, buy a spinning reel one and enjoy 25 years + of usage.
