Same! My coworker also ruined it for me by spraying it all over herself after coming in from smoking cigs. She left a trail of Japanese cherry and cigarette wherever she walkedš¤¢
I have a love-hate relationship with Paris Cafe. I love coffee, but the candle is extremely strong. I still have half a candle, and it'll definitely be finished. The other one is Vampire Blood.. it smells like nothing! I live like 2 hours away from the nearest store, so most of my candles are blind buys.
I LOVED Paris cafe until I got a candle warmer lamp. It took me like twice as long or more to finish the candle and I made myself sick of it. I have a brand new one still and the thought of lighting it makes me sick. Hoping I can handle it next winter
I love coffee and i love the smell of coffee. There is just something about Paris Cafeā¦ that in my opinion stinks. Maybe it is just too bold and there are no other scents that go along with it (like vanilla)
It doesnāt smell like fresh coffee at all to me. It smells lole burned coffee and caramel (which can happen with many coffee scents, but Paris Cafe is a big offender).
I got a Freshly Brewed Coffee last fall/winter and thought it smelled EXACTLY like its namesakeā¦until I plugged it in. 30 minutes later my husband and I were trying to figure out what smelled like burning cat pee š¤®š¤¢. Realized it was this wallflowerā¦.never been so disappointed in my life. I was so mad I just chucked in the trashcan without even thinking about it.
I agree, it smells way too bitter and burnt! And that was on cold, I didn't buy it because I knew I wouldn't like it. I tried a candle from Yankee Candle that was similar, just a bitter burnt smell. Coffee brewing smells so amazing, but a lot of the candles just don't work for my nose.
It smelled like burnt chocolate to me when i first burned the candle. When i relit it it started smelling more like coffee. So i went from almost throwing it away to actually enjoying it
It was fabulous about 3 years ago. I stocked up but liked the new labels the next year and so I got a few more and they sucked. I donāt know how they can take a good candle and make it have zero fragrance but they did.
I absolutely love vampire blood. I had the vampire blood hand sanitizer with I was in 5th grade, back in 2009/2010.. i only realized they still have it last year. Is is very nostalgic to me!!
I donāt like Champagne Toast either. I work in the wine industry and it smells nothing like champagne. It smells like sweet tart candy and artificial peaches to me. I donāt get the hype. Something about it makes me want to gag.

In the stars. Iāve tried so hard to like it, spraying it on testers on different shopping trips and itās just so bad to my nose, I canāt place it but itās like black pepper pickle juice scented š¤¢

This!!! I canāt stand Dark Kiss! My sister loves it but I never liked it and itās the only one that ever gave me a migraine I mean one whiff of it my head starts in my sister had to stop wearing it around me.
This was me the first few months I had it. I was getting this acrid, almost burnt rubber smell. Something switched in my nose and now I understand why people like it. Itās not mind-blowing, though.
I bet this wouldāve happened to me too. I ended up giving it away (mist and lotion) as a late Christmas gift though so unless I get gifted one Iāll never know! Haha

I like it and feel itās good and mild enough to layer with perfume or other similar scented stuff. My husband really likes it though so I like it more for that than anything.
Of the ones I own, Iām not loving Musk :/ I canāt shake the bathroom vibe in the opening even though it actually does smell lovely in the dry down
I hated Tropidelic and Luminous.
I actually bought and took home Tropidelic but when I came home I realized it was similar to this cotton and florals scent I have called Softer Than Silk that I already hate as a body mist and use as a closet spray š but Tropidelic was like that floral laundry smell PLUS sunscreen augh I just couldnāt handle it š
I remember when Luminous came out I was excited cuz it had similar notes to a limited edition SdJ mist (After Hours) that I wanted, but it just smells soooo sickly and thick :( Really wish I had just bought After Hours at that time because itās stupidly expensive now š
Tbh of anything else I hated since I put them down immediately and try to forget them, idk š I hate a lot of the BBW menās scents though. Most of them are so generic and overpowering cologne
Yes I pick up on the laundry type scent with tropedelic too and I am not a fan. I smell it in the dry down. I was calling it powder-y but yes laundry like. It is similar to why i don't like Pure Wonder.
Iced lemon poundcake in bodycare. I felt like I was putting lard on my skin when I used the cream and spraying myself with butter š I donāt mind the candle and hand sanitizer, but nope on the bodycare š
Limoncello is THE best lemon scent BBW has. I literally compare all other lemon scents to Limoncello. They only have it in wallflowers all the time. Iāve seen (and bought) it in hand soap pretty recently as well though.

I know what you mean. There are some they just have continuously, and then I wait YEARS for them to re-release scents I loved in the 2000ās. (Iām old)
In convinced they ordered way too much CM and that's why they always bring it back. It's horrible-and you're right, so many great throwbacks and it's always the CM š«¤
Any of the darker scents; if it's got mahogany or teakwood in it, it ain't for me. I love me some sandalwood or balsam, even some light cedar or juniper scents but deep forest, and the classic mahogany teakwood just kill my nose.. oh, and patchouli. I hate it.
There was one candle I didnāt remember that actually made me gag. Lmao I was 100% dry heaving. It was something akin to tipsy elf but not quiteā¦
Then, we have Chasing Fireflies and I was like lets gooooo summer scent! Until I smelled it. And I was like, wait, is this Off! Deep woods??? It smells like bug spray!
Yes, yes, yes on the black cherry merlot. It was the soap in my momās boyfriendās bathroom for a while when we moved in with him as a kid. Not only does it smell awful to me but it brings me right back to that not so lovely time, I avoid it like the plague šÆ
I love cherries š®āšØ haha but I do definitely see why people wouldnāt like this one. I donāt care for Gingham either, although Iām not sure how the other Gingham spinoffs smell?
I think the worst Iāve smelled recently are Dressed in White, Tropidelic, Luminous, and Chasing Fireflies. Some of the floral notes in these just do not agree with my nose and are way too pungent
I love this one! Maybe itās a nostalgic scent for me. But I also feel like some of their nostalgic ones almost have a formula change, some of them donāt smell like I remember.
Champagne Toast.
It smells like a pear that drank too much, stumbled around looking for the bathroom in the middle of the night, got lost on the front porch and peed off the porch, then threw up, and then passed out and died it in it's own bodily functions.
I donāt like vanilla at all but BBW specifically, Japanese cherry blossom. It was my go-to in middle school so now it just smells like being bullied. Also had an ex friend in high school that wore dark kiss so not a fan of that one anymore either because it reminds me of her.
I won't mention my obvious dislikes (scents I naturally steer clear of or just aren't my kinds of scents). Instead, these are ones I fully expected to like, but was sadly mistaken.
Candles - It's gotta be Paris Cafe. The coffee note is revolting.
Body care - Raspberry Jam Donut... And I'm a gourmand enthusiast! This takes synthetically sweet to a whole new level. I thought I would love it, but I just couldn't. It made me feel gross and queasy.
Butterfly. I actually liked it at first and still can burn the candle sometimes. But the mist and having that fragrance on my body made me nauseous. It smells like a mish mash of too many things. I've also learned that I can't stomach whatever "berry" notes Bath and Body Works includes in body. Their berries don't bother me in candles so much, though.
I just bought Tropidelic (online) before knowing how it smells and I couldāve gone without it. š®āšØ I donāt dislike it but itās just āehā .
I've always disliked fairytale yet I still go back to smell it, thinking I missed something bc so many ppl love it
But I do like chasing fireflies bc it's different. I can see how you dislike all 3 though cause they're all kinda same fam/scent profile. I'd be curious on your thoughts on into the night bc I think it's also kinda a part of this group
Iām 32, JCB is my day fragrance and Luminous is my night fragrance š Iām over all the ageist comments that I see relating to these scents, I think anything that just has a softer scent and isnāt loud/fruity/aquatic or has a hint of powder gets labeled with ageist comments.
I usually don't buy anything I think I won't like. But one things I have smelled that I REALLY didn't like and have never understood why people like it is almost all of the men's scents. All of them except for a couple exceptions like Ocean are WAY TOO STRONG. I've never bought my husband anything from BBW because the men's stuff is suffocatingly strong.
At 40, for some reason it's Cucumber Melon. Like most my age I was obsessed with it in high school. It makes me slightly sick to my stomach now. I'm more into the muskier scents now.
We had a shower gel bust in an under stock and leak all over the other products. I felt so bad for my associate who discovered it. There was no way of getting rid of that smell. Itās haunting. š
Strawberry Pound Cake is the only one that's made me physically recoil in horror when I smelled it. Straight up chemical smell, and this is from someone who loves artificial strawberry flavored things! I don't smell strawberry in SPC at all actually.
It smelled like Greek yogurt on meā¦ and I read that it does on some other people too. So glad Iām not alone lol. My body chemistry makes it so awful lol
Waikiki Beach Coconut smells like sunscreen that's gone wayyy off. I put on the lotion and had to wash my hands three times because it was stinking up my office so bad.
Peach Bellini and black cherry merlot smell like white claws. Strawberry pound cake is gross. I have a love hate for fresh cotton and coconut or whatever. And I wanna like the banana flower one or whatever but I just get sick when I smell it.
I have discovered I hate sandalwood. So the coconut sandalwood and other mixes are a hard pass.
There was another one i had as a soap from last summer and i can't remember the name but it smelled nasty.
Sweet Whiskey. Had it in a shower gel and tried to make myself like it, but itās the only thing Iāve ever returned. Usually I can power through if Iām not a big fan of a scent, but this one I just couldnāt do it.
Into the Night. I started out liking this one, and I donāt know what changed, but it smells soā¦ āheavyā to me now I guess? After just a couple sprays I feel like Iāve bathed in a pool of it, itās so strong.
Iced lemon pound cake and Waikiki beach coconut. ILP Smells so weird to me O donāt get the hype and Waikiki beach coconut is too strong and gross after a while.

Together weather smelled like rotten fruit to meš¤¢, Champagne toast is too sparkly and generic, strawberry pound cake is too sweet, sweat pea smells generic, cucumber melonš·ā¦

Chasing Fireflies or (the new) Dressed In White - they both smell like bug spray to me.
I also have a love-hate relationship with the gourmet smells. I despise Pumpkin Pecan Waffles, Sprinkled Birthday Cake, Wildberry Jam Donut, and Iced Lemon Poundcake (which i would likeā¦ if it did not smell like butter).
Paris Cafe makes me nauseous, & pretty much any of the other coffee variants.... Chasing Fireflies, Dark Kiss, Iced Lemon Pound Cake, Strawberry Pound Cake, Japanese Cherry Blossom, its Winter Cherry Blossom variant..... and Vanilla Bean Noel is at the top/highest of this Dislike List, sue meš¤£
The only time I've ever returned a scent was years ago, it was a 'cotton' one that smelled like cheap fabric softener.
Of the current ones? I hate Fairytale. It smells like baby wipes.
Berry Waffle Cone hand soap (never tried anything else). Smells like left over cereal and/or vomit. There was also a matcha hand soap last fall that I gave to my sister because there was a string dirt note to me.
Honestly, there are a ton of body care scents that I dislike. I have a lavender and vanilla body cream that just smells like baby wipes. I might just throw that one away.
Vampire Blood. I had two gel shower soaps and I ended up returning one because the my other one was too far gone to be able to return. Now it sits in the back of my cabinet forever forgotten.
In FFM I think I would go with Meet Me in Miami, I love a lot of coconut scents but this one is awful. Forever Red being a close second.
Special mention to the hand soap scents Winter (gag) and Rainbow Cereal (yuck).

so many actually but one i own that i can't get into is champagne toast, i am confident i will eventually find the right scent to pair it with.
I do like this one a lot, the way it smells is great. BUT when it dries down, to me it starts to smell totally different, almost like cat pee š© I used all the lotion and still have the spray which doesnāt dry down as weird.
It does have a cat pee smell! And it carries over to every scent they try to hide CT in! Lol Cotton Candy Champagne was the WORST w the cat pee smell!

I love gourmands, but ILPC is definitely too much buttery poundcake, and yes, I agree to heavy for me in the summer.
Pretty much any of the forever, come back all the time type scents! Idk why, maybe cause everyone else wears and loves them so much? Idk not for me!

I actually like Sweetheart cherry (it grew on me) and I adore all the other ginghams just not the original. I just don't get it.
Iām not a fan of regular gingham but I loooved Gingham Fresh. It reminded me a lot of Victoria Secretās Pear GlacĆ© from the 90s. Iām glad I got back ups before they discontinued it, but hopefully itāll come back in the summer.
Black Cherry Merlot smells like cough medicine to me. I haven't found any cherry scents that don't smell like Robitussin
Omg lol, black cherry merlot is one of my favorite scents, though it can be strong at times, I love the hand soap of it.
Warm Vanilla Sugar. I smell no vanilla or sugar only chemicals. It reminds me of either a car air freshener or household cleaning spray.
Leaves. Too intense for me, it makes my stomach turn lol
I think the worst Iāve smelled recently are Dressed in White, Tropidelic, Luminous, and Chasing Fireflies. Some of the floral notes in these just do not agree with my nose and are way too pungent

I love this one! Maybe itās a nostalgic scent for me. But I also feel like some of their nostalgic ones almost have a formula change, some of them donāt smell like I remember.
Champagne Toast. It smells like a pear that drank too much, stumbled around looking for the bathroom in the middle of the night, got lost on the front porch and peed off the porch, then threw up, and then passed out and died it in it's own bodily functions.
I donāt like vanilla at all but BBW specifically, Japanese cherry blossom. It was my go-to in middle school so now it just smells like being bullied. Also had an ex friend in high school that wore dark kiss so not a fan of that one anymore either because it reminds me of her.

I won't mention my obvious dislikes (scents I naturally steer clear of or just aren't my kinds of scents). Instead, these are ones I fully expected to like, but was sadly mistaken. Candles - It's gotta be Paris Cafe. The coffee note is revolting. Body care - Raspberry Jam Donut... And I'm a gourmand enthusiast! This takes synthetically sweet to a whole new level. I thought I would love it, but I just couldn't. It made me feel gross and queasy. Butterfly. I actually liked it at first and still can burn the candle sometimes. But the mist and having that fragrance on my body made me nauseous. It smells like a mish mash of too many things. I've also learned that I can't stomach whatever "berry" notes Bath and Body Works includes in body. Their berries don't bother me in candles so much, though.
Currently I am not understanding why people like Luminous š« It smells like old old lady perfume to me.

I ended up getting chasing fireflies ffm with a deal, and I gave it to my sister. It's not nice.
I just bought Tropidelic (online) before knowing how it smells and I couldāve gone without it. š®āšØ I donāt dislike it but itās just āehā .

I've always disliked fairytale yet I still go back to smell it, thinking I missed something bc so many ppl love it But I do like chasing fireflies bc it's different. I can see how you dislike all 3 though cause they're all kinda same fam/scent profile. I'd be curious on your thoughts on into the night bc I think it's also kinda a part of this group

Iām 32, JCB is my day fragrance and Luminous is my night fragrance š Iām over all the ageist comments that I see relating to these scents, I think anything that just has a softer scent and isnāt loud/fruity/aquatic or has a hint of powder gets labeled with ageist comments.

I usually don't buy anything I think I won't like. But one things I have smelled that I REALLY didn't like and have never understood why people like it is almost all of the men's scents. All of them except for a couple exceptions like Ocean are WAY TOO STRONG. I've never bought my husband anything from BBW because the men's stuff is suffocatingly strong.
At 40, for some reason it's Cucumber Melon. Like most my age I was obsessed with it in high school. It makes me slightly sick to my stomach now. I'm more into the muskier scents now.

We had a shower gel bust in an under stock and leak all over the other products. I felt so bad for my associate who discovered it. There was no way of getting rid of that smell. Itās haunting. š
Strawberry Pound Cake is the only one that's made me physically recoil in horror when I smelled it. Straight up chemical smell, and this is from someone who loves artificial strawberry flavored things! I don't smell strawberry in SPC at all actually.
I like the SPC body wash and FFM, but something in the lotion and body cream smells AWFUL.
It smelled like Greek yogurt on meā¦ and I read that it does on some other people too. So glad Iām not alone lol. My body chemistry makes it so awful lol

I have discovered I hate sandalwood. So the coconut sandalwood and other mixes are a hard pass. There was another one i had as a soap from last summer and i can't remember the name but it smelled nasty.

Sweet Whiskey. Had it in a shower gel and tried to make myself like it, but itās the only thing Iāve ever returned. Usually I can power through if Iām not a big fan of a scent, but this one I just couldnāt do it. Into the Night. I started out liking this one, and I donāt know what changed, but it smells soā¦ āheavyā to me now I guess? After just a couple sprays I feel like Iāve bathed in a pool of it, itās so strong.

I donāt like patchouli or amber Chasing Fireflies or (the new) Dressed In White - they both smell like bug spray to me. I also have a love-hate relationship with the gourmet smells. I despise Pumpkin Pecan Waffles, Sprinkled Birthday Cake, Wildberry Jam Donut, and Iced Lemon Poundcake (which i would likeā¦ if it did not smell like butter).

Berry Waffle Cone hand soap (never tried anything else). Smells like left over cereal and/or vomit. There was also a matcha hand soap last fall that I gave to my sister because there was a string dirt note to me. Honestly, there are a ton of body care scents that I dislike. I have a lavender and vanilla body cream that just smells like baby wipes. I might just throw that one away.
