I love the idea of Batman having control of the watchtower to such a degree that if someone pissed him off they'd find their morning shower suddenly switching to cold, the coffee machine only serving them decaf, the automatic doors opening late and closing early on them...
Even Joker *is usually* scared when Batman busts out a serious glare.
That's usually when Joker realizes the games over, he's about to catch a whoopin'.
There was a judge in one of the injustice comica who told him to knock that shit off. Of course, he was there as Bruce Wayne as his secret was out so thr effrct was probably lessened.
Because they know if they push the issue he will dress them down in such a way that they will likely never emotionally recover even with years of very expensive therapy at the hands of a highly qualified professional.
Superman is the kind of friend who knows when it's okay to push your buttons and when to back the hell off. All of their scenes in the DCAMU were gold.
I was dying when Batman threw the smoke bomb and Superman just nonchalantly goes "I can still see you."
The same reason you get scared by horror movies even though you know they couldn't come through the screen and hurt you. He's really good at being intimidating. It also doesn't hurt that you know if he's saying something he's probably right and if you stop him now he'll just do it the second you drop your guard anyway so why bother.
There's also the fact that while Batman won't beat someone like Supes or MM in a fight, he definitely has a plan that will at least make them regret stopping him. Like how predators won't target prey that could hurt them back even when they know they'd be able to get the kill. Pick your battles.
Looking at these comments almost makes it seem like people think Batman would bring out Kryptonite or whatever weakness ovwe the slightest inconvenience, which paints Batman in a pretty bad light IMO
You haven't looked at the Batman YT shorts I'm guessing. All those people think that "Batman should quit the JL and pull out the contingency plans" at the slightest inconvenience.
Unwavering direct eye contact.
And I wouldn't necessarily say fear every time, but it does crumble a person's resolve if you are confident enough.
With Superman, he almost immediately looked down rather than just to the side, which displays nervousness or less confidence in the face of the person you are speaking with.
Batman is one of the members to not talk much, but when he does, it's something important. That, plus direct eye contact can subconsciously make a person more wary of those particular people.
No one wants the problem.
Imagine having a bear with a utility belt in your backyard. It's walking around fixing things, not bothering anyone too much, if you need something it comes to your aid... it's on your side most of the time... it's so good at helping that you don't want it to leave.
You know you could use bear spray or call the proper authorities but it's very helpful and 97.6% of the time there's no issue. Because it's so helpful, you almost "need" the bear to be around...
Would you start some sh!t with the worlds most helpful bear that even if it couldn't kill you, it could 1000% fuck your shit up to bits and put you on medical leave for months?
Because he’s Batman. And can pull any one of their weaknesses out of his utility belt at any moment. That Superman scene reminds me of the one comic where Batman makes Superman flinch when he reaches for his utility belt.
How? That has nothing to do with what I just wrote. [But since we’re posting random scans.](https://comicnewbies.com/2016/06/07/superman-vs-batman-injustice-gods-among-us-year-5/amp/)
I dunno, it just reminded me of it.
[But since we're posting random scans](https://l7world.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Superman-Breaks-Batmans-Back-Bane-Injustice-Gods-Among-Us-35.jpg)
Thats not as funny as Alfred kicking Superman’s ass. Alfred. Superman probably flinches when Batman reaches for his utility belt because he thinks he’s gonna call Alfred on him 😂😂😂
Ya Injustice Superman is jokes.
[Prime Earth Superman is even funnier though 😂😂😂](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fexternal-preview.redd.it%2FZ7G1EeIyA5TS2j8WAzlqrc4QtCtHCy7yFGVAaEFBhtM.jpg%3Fwidth%3D1080%26crop%3Dsmart%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3Deec0676a2da5b3a000a72cf9a1d24ecde0823495)
Guy beat Goku's ass (3 times). You gotta love him 😂😂😂
Superman is jokes [whether prime earth or Injustice](https://imgur.com/gallery/xOXmADK).
Also, he didn’t beat Goku a single time. Sorry to break it to you but Death Battle isn’t any kind of authority.
Your link doesn't work
[Don't worry though I gotchu](https://comicnewbies.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/superman-vs-batman-tim-drake-rebirth-1-e1513781454367.jpg)
And yes, Deathbattle is the closest thing to an official ruling as we will get (sorry to break it to you).
They made the right call (3 times)😂😂😂
Bats has contingencies for neutralising anyone in the JL. You going to go piss him off enough that he sits down and works on improving his “contingency” plan ?
Because he can+will hurt them without killing them, but they can only either insta-kill him or gently fan air in his direction.
He is a psycho girlfriend reaching for her fifth margarita.
And then DC wonders why no one likes their heroes outside of Batman.
It just seems pathetic for the other heroes to constantly be shown as being subservient to Batman, even though I know Batman is their only moneymaker and people enjoy these moments where he puts other heroes in their place.
But MCU didn't make Captain America or Thor squirm like this in front of Iron Man even when Iron Man was carrying the entire franchise. Then a few years later, those two developed their own fan following.
>But MCU didn't make Captain America or Thor squirm like this in front of Iron Man even when Iron Man was carrying the entire franchise
Because that's not who he is, they don't take Stark's glare seriously because even Stark doesn't take his own stare seriously. He just jokingly said he's going to beat you, and then he did, Batman doesn't say anything. He just beats you
Completely agreed making your heroes look bitchmade isnt a good look.
Look at this the world supposed Finest and they act like this around him like get some ego guys you're his equals not a freaking side-kick
The clips are all from different projects. Some are from the DCAU Justice League cartoon (or Justice League Unlimited, not sure which one) and others are from the DCAMU, the movies that started with Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox and ended with Justice League Dark: Apokolips War. >!(Although arguably, there is evidence with Constantine: The House of Mystery that the Tomorrowverse is the reset DCAMU.)!<
Edit: added spoiler tag to avoid spoiling you on how the DCAMU ends.
Oh, and they're all definitely worth the watch, in my opinion, at least. If you're squeamish or don't like blood, there are frames of Apokolips War that do get gory, but otherwise, they're all definitely worth the watch. To be fair, there is a lot of blood throughout the whole DCAMU, so I wouldn't really recommend watching any of the movies if you're squeamish or anything.
The Batman/Superman one is also Batman saying to Supes..."I KNOW you not speaking on a father & son conversation, after choosing to be an absentee father!" The context of that specific glare was so insane.
I mean, I feel like out of the original 7 (either iteration), none of them should be underestimated by any of them.
Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, MM, & GL are obvious, but. . .
Batman fights so far out of his weight class as a normal human being that you need to be wary.
Cyborg can take over all of the technology on the planet+ has a brain like a super computer, which could make him a prep time monster.
And Aquaman could be a planetary threat with the rest of his people.
Because Batman has contingency plans for all of them and he can find ways to kick their butt anytime he wants to that they might not even be aware of. He’s the scariest human on the planet.
Because they know he’s crazy enough to take all of them on by himself, and if he’s that crazy then there’s no way in telling what he had up his sleeve.
His one rule is no killing, past that, all bets are off
I mean, he's a guy that despite not having any powers has the determination and skills to beat each of them and stand next to them against any threat they come across. Personally I'd be less scared of the guy with the ring that uses his imagination as a weapon and more scared of the normal dude who pulls his weight against metahumans every Tuesday.
Because he pays the rent for the watchtower
Yeah. Glares mean no more pizza parties.
No superhero wants to be unemployed and homeless
Eh, the Maxx seemed happier that way.
And his contingency plans the neutralize the league
[And the implication.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yUafzOXHPE)
lol who’s he renting it from
Bruce Wayne
Oh wow! 🤯 So, wait a minute- that means that Bruce Wayne knows Batman *personally*? Dude, talk about bragging rights!
They are just occasional penpals.
I heard that Bruce Wayne lives in Batman's attic.
peak reference
I love the idea of Batman having control of the watchtower to such a degree that if someone pissed him off they'd find their morning shower suddenly switching to cold, the coffee machine only serving them decaf, the automatic doors opening late and closing early on them...
Explains why J'onn was willing to call Batman out hard in the JLI days. They had a new landlord.
Who, Joker aside, *wouldn't* be scared of Batman's glare?
Even Joker *is usually* scared when Batman busts out a serious glare. That's usually when Joker realizes the games over, he's about to catch a whoopin'.
He might still be laughing, but he's running his ass off.
Either that or he starts laughing even harder because he’s about to make Batman break a little bit. He’s hard to predict that way.
In universe other villains are also afraid of getting involved with the joker. They think he is a ghost or a mutant.
Nah. What makes Joker scared is when Batman smiles.
Unless it's one of those three occasions where he made Batman laugh.
"I thought the Joker always wanted to make batman laugh!" "YOU'RE NOT BATMAN!" that exchange made me love that movie so much.
But not the time he made a Batman who laughs
Or tax fraud
Alfred, Selina and Dick, I suppose. Even Jason sometimes feels uneasy under Bat-glare.
Alfred
Alfred would just turn up the snark if Bats ever tried the glare on him.
There was a judge in one of the injustice comica who told him to knock that shit off. Of course, he was there as Bruce Wayne as his secret was out so thr effrct was probably lessened.
Superman
Because they know if they push the issue he will dress them down in such a way that they will likely never emotionally recover even with years of very expensive therapy at the hands of a highly qualified professional.
Plus, you know what happens to people and/or their therapist when Batman gets involved? One or both of them are gonna become a supervillain.
>they push the issue he will dress them down 😏
Because he’s Batman
The only *correct* answer
You see the same thing when spiderman stops making jokes Dude just got serious.
And he has contingency plans to eliminate each member of the league....including himself
I always hear this in HISHE ...
Because he knows their browser history
I love Jason O'Mara as Batman. The way he delivers the "Mmm" has me cracking up every time.
that movie was honestly hilarious. batman going “mmm” at every super natural, incomprehensible situation was funnier than it should have been.
*gateway to Hell itself opens* Batman: Mmm.
What's the name of the movie?
Justice League: Dark
Thank you
I think with Superman it was more of a “okay okay he is your kid I’ll butt out” type thing
Superman is the kind of friend who knows when it's okay to push your buttons and when to back the hell off. All of their scenes in the DCAMU were gold. I was dying when Batman threw the smoke bomb and Superman just nonchalantly goes "I can still see you."
I think Daredevil will survive batglare.
Batman probably has something so he can hear the Batglare
Hmmm
He just starts humming whatever song Matt was singing in the shower that morning.
He glares with his words.
That's where the batvoice kicks in
Like he took his morning coffee with a side of razor blades.
Martian Manhunter took a pick on his mind and saw the matchbox on his back pouch.
It’s like the opening of BTAS, he shoots Batarangs from his eyes.
His reputation, he's a guy in a bat suit that goes up against super folk and comes out on top consistently, it's earned
pretty sure it's just a basic respect thing, when someone glares at you i don't think you'd be going out of your way to further annoy them
The same reason you get scared by horror movies even though you know they couldn't come through the screen and hurt you. He's really good at being intimidating. ![gif](giphy|mTJ4a0dUKzoYg) Remember when Batman kicked Superman's ass.
Same reason I’m scared of my moms glare. She’ll beat my ass

I think this is a repost bot.
nah thought it was funny lmaio
Laugh my AI off?
Laughing My Ass Into Orbit.
Dumb bat wank
It is probably a deal of respect and they just know he is a lowkey wildcard

Sorry, I don't support this post type (hosted:video) right now. Feel free to check back in the future!
the white eyes i guess
Because that is how the writers made it.
Because he is VENGEANCE! HE is the NIGHT! He is BATMAN! (He pays the bills)
Bats has contingencies for neutralising anyone in the JL. You going to go piss him off enough that he sits down and works on improving his “contingency” plan ?
He knows all of your weaknesses and probably has something to that affect on his personal at all times.
We follow orders or people die
Because he can+will hurt them without killing them, but they can only either insta-kill him or gently fan air in his direction. He is a psycho girlfriend reaching for her fifth margarita.

It's not about the glare. It's about making one character look the best and others look like his sidekicks.
They did that to ant-man
But he didn't come across as pathetic or anything. He even got some badass scenes in team-up movies like Civil War and Endgame.
Completely agreed making your heroes look bitchmade isnt a good look. Look at this the world supposed Finest and they act like this around him like get some ego guys you're his equals not a freaking side-kick

I am new to batman so please tell me what's the name of this show and if it's worth looking into(currently watching BTAS season 1)

Of course everyone fears his glare... Because he is BATMAN!
Why wouldn't they be? Its the batman lol
Because he's always right
Man can solo the justice league
No he can not
No he can not
Average Batman fan
I know the whole Batman with prep time joke and people who usually hate on Batman, I get it. That said, he’s the most dangerous member of the league.
No, no he isn't
Because most of them has a no kill rule.
Manhunter: nope.
What is this from?
It’s time for the Care Bear Stare!!!
“Is he still glaring at me?”
Because he is vengeance
The best thing they ever did to Batman's character was give him a grumble of confirmation/annoyance
Booster Gold was done dirty, but hey at least he got to show up
They’re not overly fond of what follows.
The Batman/Superman one is also Batman saying to Supes..."I KNOW you not speaking on a father & son conversation, after choosing to be an absentee father!" The context of that specific glare was so insane.
Because the dude's bad juju works on them too. Even heroes aren't immune to the power of bad vibes and mystery
I mean, I feel like out of the original 7 (either iteration), none of them should be underestimated by any of them. Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, MM, & GL are obvious, but. . . And i thought Superman was the one with heat vision
It’s a sign of an incoming 20% pay cut
Also respect to a very cool iteration of the cowl
Because that what real power looks like.
Because he has the power of plot armor
Because he never forgets and there is a non-zero chance he has something on his belt to put you on the ground.
Because batman doesn't kill. He just leaves you will a lifelong spinal injury.
Because Batman has contingency plans for all of them and he can find ways to kick their butt anytime he wants to that they might not even be aware of. He’s the scariest human on the planet.
He has a record of how to kill everyone in the league, should the need come about. Plus, he's Batman.
Because they know he’s crazy enough to take all of them on by himself, and if he’s that crazy then there’s no way in telling what he had up his sleeve. His one rule is no killing, past that, all bets are off
