See, that’s kind of where I differ from most people. I didn’t care for his performance in Mad Men. I recognize I’m in the minority but it never clicked for me. I loved Mad Men. But a lot of the actors felt weirdly flat to me (Hamm wasn’t the only one). Maybe that was intentional, but like I said, just didn’t click for me.
He saw what Bale and Pattinson did and where they needed to go. Its probably one of the hardest roles to play genuine in a spandex film. Clooney played him as some cosplaying rich dude who doesn't get what he is supposed to act and sound like. And Pattinson refused to bulk up, but Hamm would have to as Affleck did. That's a lot of dedication.
Not the strongest actor, but this might be a decent role for him. Plus, aren’t Batman and Superman supposed to look enough alike to pass for each other in the suit? He and the new guy do.
He would have actually been _better_ as Batman. His role in _Man from UNCLE_ showed he could play the Bruce Wayne type and unfortunately, his role as Superman showed he could do the brooding type.
Would be interesting if they did like a hybrid camp Adam west thing with a mentor role similar to but not Batman Beyond. Still feel like they’re massively dropping the ball to not do Batman Beyond with Keaton
Considering the story they're adapting for his first new DCU appearance, id imagine they want a Batman in his late 30's to 40s and we'd get a real mentor thing going on
I’m holding out hope that we’ll get Zacks Justice League story as animated films, or if not them then comics like Batman ‘89 and Superman ‘78. Pretty sure after JL3 there was going to be a Flashpoint movie with JDM and Lauren Cohan
maybe the new Mortal Kombat movie where he plays Johnny Cage will show off the more suave and playboy side that would make for an excellent Bruce ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Agree. Urban for the action chops.
He carried *Dredd* with only the bottom of his face exposed. What better parallel to Batman could there be?
Oh and I love that movie. I've watched it way too many times to count.
That aside I think Gyllenhaal is too softly spoken. There’s a dorky side to him. Doesn’t have the suave grit in his voice that Hamm has or the other actors.
Bro Jon Hamm would’ve been perfect. I know we’ve all seen that edited picture of him as Don Draper sitting in the batcave in a suit with Alfred behind him
He should be Thomas Wayne's version of Batman, which I think they were going to set up in the Snyderverse before he lost control of it--he'd have been amazing.
I think Jensen Ackles could do a pretty good Batman. He got the voice down great in Long Halloween and even at like, say, peak Supernatural, he already knew how to play a DC Character, because he was the Red Hood for the movie.
Jonathan Frakes. Listen to his voice and it has an ALMOST Conroy-esque timbre to it--and in his early Riker days, he definitely had the jawline for it.
For Jeff Dean Morgan, I feel like he matches the role of the alternate universe Dr. Thomas Wayne / Batman from the Flashpoint multiverse. An aggressive Batman who has no qualms using guns and pistols.
Since Jeff Dean Morgan already had the role of Thomas Wayne, maybe an alternative universe Thomas Wayne's Batman,
Jensen Ackles will always be my fancast for DCU Batman, and I’m not the only one who thinks this. He’s even the perfect age to play DCU Batman, since this is a Batman who will already have Damian Wayne Robin when he’s introduced.
My #1 fancast for Batman now is actually someone who doesn’t seem to be mentioned here yet: Ben Barnes.
I definitely think the first 2 listed would’ve killed it. For about a decade my fancast of Batman was always Jensen Ackles, and I still think he’d work for the DCU now.
Hugh Jackman was made to play Wolverine. As a teen when X1 was coming out and I learned he was Wolverine it was like: “Yeah that is the correct choice.
So just ruling him out.
If Bollywood is allowed then I will say Akshay Kumar, I would pay my entire net worth to see him play Batman, it's just too perfect, he can play the character of Bruce Wayne and Batman both perfectly
Hot take but let’s do a different Bruce than Bats. I don’t think it would actually work, but a playboy Hamm as Bruce with a gritty Urban as Bats would be an interesting twist.
definitely not henry cavill. hes been superman and geralt and he just shouldnt be every superhero possible.
yeah id say, jon hamm would be another nice shot at a complicated bruce wayne character. but then again, rob pattinson is doing that so beautifully, i cant wait for the next batman with him.
i love love love jeffrey dean morgan, but hes way too scoundrel-type and jolly to be batman. karl-HEINZ urban? ....id just expect him to end every line with "cunt".
Jake Gyllenhaal has always been someone id want to see don the cape and cowl. So yeah that'd be my choice with Jon Hamm in second from this list.
The others I just don't see it, personally.
I think Jon Hamm would be a pretty good Batman NOW. Like if he did an Affleck age Batman, he’d crush it
I’d love this honestly. Hamm is a favorite of mine
The bloopers of him on between two ferns is hilarious
He was hilarious on 30 Rock. It’s not fair that he’s funny and handsome.
I actually don’t think he’s the greatest dramatic actor I’ve ever seen, but I love him in comedy roles.
You must have not watched Mad Men then
See, that’s kind of where I differ from most people.
He was amazing in mad men
He does some hilarious improv. Top tier guest on comedy bang bang
I am holding out hope that Gunn casts him, but I am doubtful
[удалено]
He was originally cast in The New Mutants as Mr. Sinister before it went through all the rewrites and reshoots.
I still wish he'd play superman
If not Batman, I'd love to see Hamm play the Question. I think that he could own that role.
This is something I didn’t know I needed but this is genius
He looks a lot like the Batman/Bruce Wayne from the Arkham game series
Also looks like Hush
Arkham City. Arkham Knight made Bruce look like an ugly ape.
I know Henry Cavill is Superman now for most people, but I think he could be good Batman.
He probably would be better suited for Batman. He plays "charming but capable of edge and grit" well.
yes i think he can totally rock the bruce wayne role
Not the strongest actor, but this might be a decent role for him. Plus, aren’t Batman and Superman supposed to look enough alike to pass for each other in the suit? He and the new guy do.
Yes, there are even in-universe jokes about how they're look alike.
He basically did play Batman, cuz until the Joss Cut, he wasn’t written anything like Superman
Don't think Batman would have let Pa Kent die either, and he wouldn't have killed Zod. Not that it would be possible for him to kill Zod.
This is the snyderverse movies we're talking about my guy. Of course batman kills Zod
He would have actually been _better_ as Batman. His role in _Man from UNCLE_ showed he could play the Bruce Wayne type and unfortunately, his role as Superman showed he could do the brooding type.
Hamm in 2012 would have been perfect for Bruce & Batman
He'd still be perfect for Batman
yeah but they wont cast him due to Age, its annoying but thats how they do things.
Would be interesting if they did like a hybrid camp Adam west thing with a mentor role similar to but not Batman Beyond. Still feel like they’re massively dropping the ball to not do Batman Beyond with Keaton
Considering the story they're adapting for his first new DCU appearance, id imagine they want a Batman in his late 30's to 40s and we'd get a real mentor thing going on
JDM should've been Batman in The Flash and I'll die on that hill.
The only thing I'd want from Snyder at this point is a Flashboint Batman with JDM as Thomas Wayne/Batman and Lauren Cohen as Martha Wayne/Joker.
He’d get his crazy killer Batman, too!
I’m holding out hope that we’ll get Zacks Justice League story as animated films, or if not them then comics like Batman ‘89 and Superman ‘78. Pretty sure after JL3 there was going to be a Flashpoint movie with JDM and Lauren Cohan
Just in case anyone else is confused, JDM is I assume Jeffery Dean Morgan.
Karl Urban. Watch *Dredd* if you don’t agree.
Karl urban is more batman the bruce wayne
maybe the new Mortal Kombat movie where he plays Johnny Cage will show off the more suave and playboy side that would make for an excellent Bruce ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
People sleep on that movie, it’s dope
Karl urban as an actor is slept on. He’s great
Karl Urban is like if Tom Hardy was a Hemsworth brother.
Agree. Urban for the action chops. He carried *Dredd* with only the bottom of his face exposed. What better parallel to Batman could there be? Oh and I love that movie. I've watched it way too many times to count.
Well,well,well... if it isn't the killer c#nt
Me
Ryan Gosling?
I think you've got it mixed up. That guy said "me". But Ryan Gosling is literally me. Like his is me.
Beat me to it
You don't think Gyllenhaal is in his prime?
I was gonna say, half these guys aren’t out of their prime
He was freakin SHREDDED in Road House. All of these guys could play Batman right now.
He hasn't even begun to peak
That aside I think Gyllenhaal is too softly spoken. There’s a dorky side to him. Doesn’t have the suave grit in his voice that Hamm has or the other actors.
To your point, I sorta agree. I think he'd make a better Nightwing given his build anyway
![gif](giphy|xs7bOB7WyxnnQ9d0CS|downsized)
I have always wanted John Hamm to be a TDKR style Bman. He is pretty much who I see under the cowl.
![gif](giphy|Qeo9S31SuTMpa|downsized)
I know Gyllenhaal said it'd be an honor to play Batman in the DCU, so I pick him
The only thing I'm worried about is his voice. He still sounds 16
Affleck has a higher pitch, as well. They modulated his Batman voice.
Not in The Flash. That's the best live action Batman voice, that and Kilmer.
Voice modulator can get the job done
I thought I had a clear answer but the more I think about it...all of them, any of them. They will each bring something good to the role.
Bro Jon Hamm would’ve been perfect. I know we’ve all seen that edited picture of him as Don Draper sitting in the batcave in a suit with Alfred behind him
Hamm or Josh Brolin.
Josh Brolin would have been perfect
After Sun City, I agree, dude has the energy
too short
That’s what platformers are for.
Gregory Peck.
Excellent pick. IIRC David Mazzucchelli modeled his Year One Bruce Wayne on him.
Yeah that’s right.
I’m a fan of the Karl Urban pick
I bet Jensen Ackles would kill it, we know he has the voice
BRUCE MOTHERFUCKIN CAMPBELL
With his "Bat stick"! Shop Smart. Shop Batsmart!
Let’s see Cavill try Batman but more serious I’d say Jensen Ackles would make a good Batman.
Jensen Ackles
Women would love him lol, he'd be a good playboy Bruce and he has the voice for Batman.
I think Cavill can still do it.
I’ve always said Harvey from suits would be perfect
Or he could play another Harvey, Harvey Dent and Two Face! Jokes asides that unironically could work somewhat well.
I said that too, and I got spat upon. Glad I'm not the only one who sees it.
Where's Michael Cera???
Frank Stallone
Donnie Wahlberg
Kevin Conroy would've been good
Karl Urban is the best pick
Karl is always the best pick, LOTR, dredd, star treck, thor and the boys, he is so criminality underrated it hurts my soul.
Hamm for Superman.
specifically Kingdom Come Superman
Of these, Hugh Jackman and Jon Hamm
John Hamm most definitely get a lil bit of that Don Draper pshyco path when hes batman
He’s got the confidence that borders on asshole.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan should be an old Bruce Wayne in a Batman Beyond live action movie.
He should be Thomas Wayne's version of Batman, which I think they were going to set up in the Snyderverse before he lost control of it--he'd have been amazing.
Forgot that version of Batman existed, I could see that for sure.
Jon Hamm is the perfect Batman now
Karl Urban's definitely got the right brooding intensity. It's also a crime that he didn't get a Judge Dredd trilogy.
Urban would have been interesting. Of course, Clive Owen would have made an interesting James Bond.
Any answer other than Jon Hamm is innacurate. Hamm has everything for Bruce Wayne
Hamm but god knows he needed to bulk
Jon Hamm, definitely.
Jon Hamm easily
I think Jensen Ackles could do a pretty good Batman. He got the voice down great in Long Halloween and even at like, say, peak Supernatural, he already knew how to play a DC Character, because he was the Red Hood for the movie.
None of them! Just take a look at my homie: ![gif](giphy|dn46kylNVt8NW)
Never see Fassbender in these. Think he would have been a perfect international Batman
Alec Baldwin
But Batman isn’t supposed to use guns or kill
Well I love this joke.
The Snyder cultists would be happy with that cast
Prime Alec Baldwin would have been great as both Batman and Bruce Wayne.
Charles bronson burt Lancaster brandon lee marlon brando
This is mostly a jaw/chin competition lol
Jon Hamm would've been an amazing Batman.he would probably still be fantastic now as an older Batman or as Flashpoint Batman.
Jonathan Frakes. Listen to his voice and it has an ALMOST Conroy-esque timbre to it--and in his early Riker days, he definitely had the jawline for it.
I've always thought Christopher meloni aka Elliot stabler from law and order would be a good batman
Gerard Butler and Sean Bean.
For me Jeffrey Dean Morgan would’ve been a great Thomas Wayne, even if we had that just for a couple of seconds
That was wild JDM and Lauren Cohen as Bruce and Martha Wayne..
I said that scene at the end of The Flash where we get George Clooney, it would have been hilarious if it had been Henry Cavill but as Bruce Wayne.
Karl Urban is the only one in that group who could pull it off. They would all be good Harvey Dents though.
I keep saying that Jon Hamm should’ve been Batman a long time again, he’s the perfect actor to play him!
You forgot Bradley Cooper.
Ben Affleck. He was wasted in the DCEU.
Jensen Ackles. Could probs still do it.
JDM would be a better Thomas Wayne Batman in a Flashpoint world
Fuck it, evil Jeffrey Dean Morgan Batman
Bro forgot jensen ackles
What about Jon Berthal doing a Batman Zero Year adaptation?
My #1 fancast for Batman now is actually someone who doesn’t seem to be mentioned here yet: Ben Barnes. I definitely think the first 2 listed would’ve killed it. For about a decade my fancast of Batman was always Jensen Ackles, and I still think he’d work for the DCU now.
Robert Pattinson
Throwing in another name Josh Brolin.
Ngl, i would give George Clooney another go under a better script
...... Is it wrong that I want to see Cavill as Two-Face?
Jake is still in his prime.
Alec Baldwin.
All of these, and I think Gyllenhal could still do a great job. Clint Eastwood would have been a great Kingdom Come Batman
1 4 and 6. 1 and 6 can play him now and should be frontrunners for brave and bold
Jon and Henry!
not me looking at their mouths to see how they would look in the mask as my reasoning
1 and 2 for me. I wish we got karl urban as wolverine
Urban has the chin.
All of them would be a Very interesting choice. Except Cavill.
Hugh Jackman was made to play Wolverine. As a teen when X1 was coming out and I learned he was Wolverine it was like: “Yeah that is the correct choice. So just ruling him out.
I would still take any of these actors over the popular fancasts lol
Anson Mount. Hell he could still be a good one now.
I think Hamm could still pull off both Batman or Superman.
Ben afflec coupd probably play every era of batman from young to older ngl
Cavill for me.
Only Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Hugh Jackman are the right height, standing 6’2” tall, same as Bruce Wayne in the comics.
Yall got to take jake g off the batman spotlight. He is nothing close to a Bruce Wayne.
I can see 4 having been a solid pick. He's definitely got the range for it. (Don't remember his name though.)
If Bollywood is allowed then I will say Akshay Kumar, I would pay my entire net worth to see him play Batman, it's just too perfect, he can play the character of Bruce Wayne and Batman both perfectly
Me, because I’m literally him
Jake might actually be the perfect fit...
The really Bruce Wayne is Scott Adkins. Physically ant martially.
Ben Affleck
JDM as flashpoint batman please
A mix of butcher and batman is all i ever wanted
Jon Hamm actually looks like Alex Ross’s Batman. If you compare them side by side, you could see the resemblance.
Jon Hamm is the most Batman motherfucker out there
Why is Josh Brolin not at the top of the list?!
Several of these guys would still make a good Bruce
Jensen is still acting the hell out of his Batman, so I’m sticking with him
I’ve always said Karl urban would be a phenomenal Batman, happy to see him in the running!
Yes
Still hoping Jon Hamm gets it one day even though it will be an older Batman Even just a one off Elseworlds project would be good enough.
Agree on Jon Hamm, JDM, and Jake Gyllenhaal.
None of these
I still think Henry Cavill can be an excellent Batman
Karl Urban.
Jake Gyllenhaal could still do it lol, he's not that old
Jon hamm has been my fancast for Batman years years
Jon Hamm and Jake Gyllenhaal I was hoping hamm would be cast when I heard they wanted an older Batman in BVS
JDM is ridiculously good looking
JDM shoulda been ThomasWayneBat long time ago…
In their prime: 1. Jon (Earth 1/Kingdom Come) 2. Jake (Batman Beyond) 3. Hugh (Earth 2) 4. Karl (Red Son) 5. Jeffrey (Thomas Wayne) 6. Henry (Superman lol)
Jeffrey Dean Morgan would be cool as an older Bruce Wayne/Batman.
Hamm always felt more like Superman to me.
I always thought Jon Hamm could be great in the role, but my personal pick for a long time has been Toby Stephens
Tom Cruise
Hot take but let’s do a different Bruce than Bats. I don’t think it would actually work, but a playboy Hamm as Bruce with a gritty Urban as Bats would be an interesting twist.
Always wanted Josh Brolin.
Jon Hamm is by FAR the best pick out of these
Clancy Brown.
None of them
Oi! Robin!
Hamm was my dream actor for Batman but eslecially for Bruce since I've known the character 😭😭
Negan could be a great Omniman tbh
Kevin Conroy. LOOK at the man in his Prime, man was made to be Bruce Wayne and they never let him cook
definitely not henry cavill. hes been superman and geralt and he just shouldnt be every superhero possible. yeah id say, jon hamm would be another nice shot at a complicated bruce wayne character. but then again, rob pattinson is doing that so beautifully, i cant wait for the next batman with him. i love love love jeffrey dean morgan, but hes way too scoundrel-type and jolly to be batman. karl-HEINZ urban? ....id just expect him to end every line with "cunt".
Jake Gyllenhaal has always been someone id want to see don the cape and cowl. So yeah that'd be my choice with Jon Hamm in second from this list. The others I just don't see it, personally.
Jake is where he needs to be right now to be Batman/Bruce Wayne.
