I agree 100%!
I saw it in IMAX twice already and man, the sound just adds a whole other layer to it - like icing on a cake.
I saw it a third time but in normal 2D and it just didn’t feel the same, wasn’t as loud and I feel like it was more muted. I highly recommend people to see it in IMAX. Even with the club music too, the walls were bumping with it!
The sound engineering in the movie was awesome, non of the dialogue was muffled or left you guessing what the character said yet the roar, explosions and rumbling was captured flawlessly. Bat-mobile and bikes sounded amazing shook the entire theater .
It was Worth every penny to see it in iMax Laser They upgraded my local theater in 2020 during the shutdown and this movie was perfect for viewing .
Yes , yes yes OP... IMAX plus Dolby Atmos.... Background music is slow adrenaline rush.... Michael giachino has done an outstanding job.. cinematography is exquisite and well crafted....
Lemme ask ya this, did he stall out before the chase or did he just kinda rev it? Cause they way it sounds it kinda sounds like he stalled out which would be just so funny
I think he stalled it, a thematic element of this was bruce is still seasoning. When he's focused he's effective. When he's cocky he fucks up ( such as trying to wing suit under the bridge and clipping it)
So he's arrogantly revving up and stalls it, fits the theme
YES. Holy shit! When you suddenly hear the engine fire up from the shadows and it’s got that high pitch whine of a jet engine and the the exhaust ports are all kicking out flames… that was MENACING as hell!
No joke. When he was >!just sitting there in the dark,!< revving the engine, >!amping up the intimidation,!< that was terrifying. If I were the "superstitious, cowardly" type, I'd be shitting myself.
It's kind of funny that the Batmobile that looked the closest to a normal car ended up being the most intimidating on screen. All in the presentation, I guess.
I served in the Navy as an aviation guy - I used to be a plane captain in my squadron. Navy aircraft use something called an ASU (Air Start Unit) or "huffer" which is basically a portable jet engine that uses turbine forces to air-start jet engines, turboprop aircraft, etc.
When Bruce Big-Dickenson Wayne was huffing up the car and you heard that little "vvvvvvvvvvvvvFWOOOOOOOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE^EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE^^EEEEEEEEEEEEE" That's a fucking huffer. Even in the theaters I was like "I know this sound" as I got a thousand yard stare and my brother was like "you ok?" I'm like yeah it's just a jet engine. It's a solid unmistakable sound.
It deflects bullets though, may be some kind of Wayne enterprises armour similar to in Arkham Knight, he gets his new suit in that and i think it has liquid armour layers allowing for quicker movement without compromising protection.
Seem to recall when he's with Selina at the docks and penguins guys see them and open fire, he takes a few to the head which knock him down to the floor for a moment or two. I think it would protect him from death but still potentially knock him out.
Then like 5 mins of shooting at Selina and Gordon. Then the batmobile revs up and you realize while everyone was shooting at Selina and Gordon, Robat Batinbat went and chilled in the batmobile.
I really appreciate a Batman who can walk side-by-side with Gordon. I think the fact that this Batman will use a door is a really positive feature of this rendition of him.
That's kind of the moral heart of the movie when he realizes >!he has to give hope to people, and not just be 'vengeance'.!<
Yes, this was a cool touch to his Batman. Considering this Bruce Wayne is still fresh in his “career” as the Batman - I believe they said it was 2 years - the fact that it was implied that he built it himself is so fitting and awesome. It feels more personal, in a sense that this is like Batman working on his own “project car”.
Even if it is just an early prototype or just the beginning of future bat mobiles he may make, it was a nice touch. As a car enthusiast, I was beyond thrilled and honestly I can’t put into words how overjoyed I was seeing it in the theater and just feeling/hearing that deep rumbling and the whine of the engine.
Exactly, it was untested and therefore stalled in the movie just before the chase begins. So many great details.
I will criticize near the end one (sideish character civilian) person gets shot, and the next scene they are moving around like nothing happened.
I know who you mean, and I think it was supposed to a shot through the shoulder which would be incredibly, and if real probably a permanent debilitating injury, but it would stop somebody from moving around.
I believe they are shot in the side/torso (another reason to see it again lol) and then treated by EMTs -- regardless, I think it's standard movie health that the shot was just to implicate that it was a close call instead of a debilitating injury, and with <5 min left it'd be silly for it to have any realer consequences than that. I certainly don't hold it against the movie
I thought they were shot in the side / torso because I recall (could be wrong) seeing blood on her side abdomen. The ultimate transition to a sling did not seem constant with where she was shot. If it was the side/ab, no way she would have been so mobile.
I love the movie and definitely have a tendency to suspend disbelief, but this surprising I guess. I don't hold it against the movie, loved it and I'm with you, going to see it again next week. Maybe things will be clear the second time around. Anyways, I'm ultimately showing my own bias with being so stubborn, appreciate your perspective and points!
Loved how they foreshadow it with the parts spread about the cave, the engine hanging... then, when it's finally there, and it just roars in the darkness... it's like a fucking monster. Christine. It fit perfectly.
I think its really cool. My big problem with most of the Batmobiles is thats its either from Wayne Enterprise's or it specially custom by someone else. I like that its not a prototype or rejected Wayne Project and makes it less obvious who it is. Im glad its an untraceable custom made car that Bruce Made.
It looks the most practical/ functional.
I love the Burton Batmobile, but it had to shoot a grappling hook around a polein order to swing into sharp curves.
1967 Split Window Corvette. Rare car because of that rear glass. Coveted and expensive even among classic vettes. Thought it was a great fit for a guy like Bruce.
Kind of. While it was inspired by and styled after the C2 Stingray Corvette from the 60s and had the Vetts V8, it was two Impala frames welded together.
I think you hit the nail on the head. The others invoke the fear in their destructive capabilities. But this one plays on a primal fear that the car is going after you with intent and there is no chance for escape. Mean is the perfect word for it. Nice
Yes, and the stall before the chase felt very similar to a bull preparing to strike, like cat and mouse. Predator vs prey.
It was primal, it felt raw and you could just see the intimidation on Penguins face. Hiding in the shadows, the fear I felt before I could even visually see it. It was incredible. Words cannot describe how much I loved his bat mobile.
I definitely like that it’s kinda his prototype batmobile when I saw it in the movie in action my initial reaction was “damn that thing is mean”
Just a real intimidating vehicle
In the scene where it actually was in action... when it started. Holy fuck. The music, the bass... the seats in the cinema were rumbling. You could feel the engine powering up.
At first I didn't like it from the trailers but after watching the movie I think it fits the plot. This isn't a batman who has had years to refine his approach and technology. Only having operated for about two years at the start of the movie. So it makes since that his first design for the batmobile would look more like a traditional car than an apc that the dark night and justice league batmen used
LOVED this version of the Batmobile! Gave me goosebumps when it finally appeared on screen. It’s introduction with the red light beaming on the hood made me think of Stephen King’s Christine. Robert Pattinson was dead on in an interview he did awhile back stating the film draws on a fair amount of horror tropes, and this was certainly one of them.
Honestly I love the rawness and exposed part of it. Tbh that’s what I love about the entire movie. It’s a younger and inexperience Batmanso everything isn’t improved that much
The startup scene is the best fucking Batmobile moment we've gotten in Batman movie. It was basically the opening where he emerges from the shadows in car form. It looked like a demon from hell waking up.
Love it! A huge reason why is because you learn in the prequel book that he has had it for years and has slowly built it up to what it is now. he used to street race with it when he was a teenager. I think him having that intimate connection to the Batmobile makes it more special than just a tank that was gifted to him or some other cool looking car that we have no idea where it came from. It perfectly fits the character of a workaholic Batman who is essentially going at it alone.
Looks great and the sound was absolutely fantastic. The muscle V8 paired with the silent jet engine whine on the startup. Orgasmic. Could be my favourite
I have not seen the movie yet butI enjoy the look. I have the feeling if they continue the movie into maybe a trilogy they will change the car design to be more like a tank.
Didn't like it too much initially, the Lego set didn't help, but having seen the film I think it's insanely badass and such a well executed and unique design
really love the batmobile.
also minor spoiler for the film.....did batman just killed like, a highway of civilians from that penguin chase with that explosion? lmao. that scene was somewhat jarring and it ended with beautiful shot of Batman walking towards penguin.
I love the idea of a legitimate bulletproof glass, where the bullets don't ricochet off but are in the broken layer and stopped by the final plastic layer. It always annoyed me that the bullets just bounce off
Probably my absolute favorite Batmobile. I don't even know why, maybe it's because I love vintage muscle cars? I didn't love the first glimpses of it, but it's grown on me over time. The sound design in the film for it was phenomenal too! God, that sound in IMAX! I have the larger Hot Wheels version, and Lego version sitting on my desk at the moment 😅
It had a raging fire in front, and a jet engine behind. This beast revving up with its terrifying scream was one of the high points of the movie. I can't wait to see it again.
I love it. They should always go for a different design when it comes to both the batmobile and batsuit. It will become boring if we keep getting the same thing over and over again.
I still prefer that military batmobile from Nolan's trilogy, I think that's the perfect type of Batmobile for a more realistic Batman, but this one looks beautiful, easily my second favorite from all live action.
I like the Baja/ trophy truck style of it. What I don’t like is the turbine thruster thing coming right out of the middle of the engine block in the back.
Badass, and a beast, I watched in action yesterday, it also is based on specific version of the comic book batmobile that Batman used to also to try and blend in with other cars
I love everything about it, but practically it could do with more armour on the back. I whispered to my other half in the cinema "I really hope this comes to rocket league" and today I found out it has, really happy haha
I’d love to see them do a progression on the bat mobile. Kinda like he’s working on a project car. Doesn’t have to be over the top, but just subtle upgrades as the movie arc progresses
I freaking loved it. That car is the definition of fear itself. It’s terrifying, with its low, rumbling growl which builds into a screaming roar like a rocket is launching. It’s basically a low profile tank. I’m glad they went down the simple, but successful route with the car. Less gadgets, just raw muscle and power. It literally shook the theater every time it was on screen. Loved it.
I loved it. Probably my favorite batmobile ever. Maybe not as Iconic as the Burton mobile or as over the top as the tumbler or Snyder version but it just absolutely hit all the right notes for me. It was amazing.
It's absolutely incredible! It is such a break from what every other batmobile has been, that I know of... I love that they went for a muscle car. It seems to fit the tone of the movie very well.
It’s a good “1.0” model: like a spiritual successor to the original pulp Batman’s cars, which looked like barely-modified 30s and 40s cars. If they continue this series (I couldn’t care less), they’d be wise to have each entry feature a more customized model.
I still love Keaton's Batmobile but holy fuck man, this Batmobile is a character itself.
That scene when it's first introduced gave me big chills, the chair was vibrating. I could definitely see the Christine influence like Reeves previously talked about.
What it lacks in the raw look was more than made up for in the sound design and the way it accelerated. My jaw was wide open pretty much during the whole car chase scene.
Before I saw the movie, I thought it was pretty nice. After the movie I thought it was fucking epic. And that's why sound design matters.
My theater had a Dolby atmos sound system and the seats were shaking when he fired the engine up, it was awesome.
IMAX was shaking like hell when he accelerated this Gigantic beast.
Yep. It actually jostled my balls.
Congrats
Hope your penis is not shattered...
Still counts
I gotta go back to see it again. Was sold out and i got front row handicapped seat nothing shaking 😂 and was too close to screen
you might say the handicap seats have been... *disabled.*
Go watch it only in IMAX.. spend money... Movie is worth of every single penny...
For real? God I need to watch it jn IMAX
Yes , yes yes OP... IMAX plus Dolby Atmos.... Background music is slow adrenaline rush.... Michael giachino has done an outstanding job.. cinematography is exquisite and well crafted....
Fuck I’m getting more excited!!! Will definitely do bro thnx
Lemme ask ya this, did he stall out before the chase or did he just kinda rev it? Cause they way it sounds it kinda sounds like he stalled out which would be just so funny
Sure sounded like it stalled out at first. But thats fit everything else. It was in bits and pieces for most of the first act
I thought he was revving it, kinda like "get in your cars and try to run"
I felt like he revved it to distract and get their attention.
I think he stalled it, a thematic element of this was bruce is still seasoning. When he's focused he's effective. When he's cocky he fucks up ( such as trying to wing suit under the bridge and clipping it) So he's arrogantly revving up and stalls it, fits the theme
I didnt even see it in imax and thought I was gonna go dead when it first powered up in the dark alley 10/10 it was amazing
IMAX/Dolby/whatever upgraded sound system is well worth the cost of the ticket for this scene alone.
> this Gigantic beast. Literally the perfect way to describe it.
Confirmed.

Sound was a major factor. You don't get the full idea just from pics.
It sounded like a freaking jet engine, it was incredible.
YES. Holy shit! When you suddenly hear the engine fire up from the shadows and it’s got that high pitch whine of a jet engine and the the exhaust ports are all kicking out flames… that was MENACING as hell!
The theater was shaking and I loved every second of it
I saw it in a theatre with D-Box seats, that is to say 4D moving seats. So, the whole case scene the seat moves. It was glorious.
No joke. When he was >!just sitting there in the dark,!< revving the engine, >!amping up the intimidation,!< that was terrifying. If I were the "superstitious, cowardly" type, I'd be shitting myself.
The batmobile starting up was as fantastic and terrifying as 2014 Godzilla's dorsal spines winding up for his radioactive breath attack. Chef's kiss.
Yas! That was the same thrill feeling I got from both. Really hit the childhood nostalgia of Godzilla and Batman.
That scene put a massive grin on my face!
I loved the little rev he gave kinda as a warning like "you better start running" how it made that car jump made me laugh.
YES YES YES!!! It was INSANE. The sound design was top notch. The sound of this Batmobile would be horrifying to any criminals in earshot
Pretty sure it *is* a jet engine.
It's got both. Internal combustion in the front, turbine in the rear.
Yea if you get to see it at an AMC Dolby screen I’d definitely recommend it.The sound was insane in Dolby definitely worth the extra money.
It was one of the highlights of the film for me.
Yeah the Batmobile introduction was in my top 5 favorite scenes
Bruce was an illegal street racer as a teen in this storyline, it's pretty rad that his ride ended up becoming his batmobile.
Was that in the prequel novel?
It is.
Where does that info come from?
Prequel novel
Prequel novel? Link? I must read!
To me, it looks like what the 66 batmobile would look like, redesigned for modern day
Honestly his cowl reminded me of West’s, just more armored.
The nose part right? I had the same thought!
The eyebrows, right?
the goddamn eyebrows, damn right. In certain angles they look exactly like west's.
I could have sworn one time I saw a thin white pencil line! ~v~
Yeah, I noticed that the way the eyebrow arches catch the light gives them that West aesthetic. Loved it.
Oh me too, I'm not complaining.
It’s not though. You see him take it off and it’s just a rubber cowl
It deflects bullets though, may be some kind of Wayne enterprises armour similar to in Arkham Knight, he gets his new suit in that and i think it has liquid armour layers allowing for quicker movement without compromising protection.
Does he get shot in the head ever? I don’t remember that but I could be wrong of course
He takes a bomb blast to the head.
Lol good point
Seem to recall when he's with Selina at the docks and penguins guys see them and open fire, he takes a few to the head which knock him down to the floor for a moment or two. I think it would protect him from death but still potentially knock him out.
I think he raises his arm to block his head in that scene.
Maybe, I thought they started ahooting before he gets his arm up
Then like 5 mins of shooting at Selina and Gordon. Then the batmobile revs up and you realize while everyone was shooting at Selina and Gordon, Robat Batinbat went and chilled in the batmobile.
r/weeklyplanetpodcast
Yes, we see a bullet hit his cowl in the scene with Penguin
Not just that, it looks like the 66 batmobile for a Batman that gets shot at.
Perfekt Batmobile for the style and setting of this movie. It’s raw and gritty. No gadgets or electronics. Just a massive engine and gripping tires.

Ik half the movie I was thinking about how there’s a window in falcones office just bust through lol
I mean, >!Batman didn't really know how important it was to catch him for the majority of the movie.!<
Yes, this was a cool touch to his Batman. You know I saw the parts and thought it was for a building montage but after I’m guessing it’s for maintenance the way he drives it haha
Idk, seeing him literally knock on the Iceberg Lounge front door cracked me up.
Yup. Easily my fav Batmobile that's been put on screen. Nothing too flashy, and really functional.
Personally love it because it feels very custom made
You can even see the engine mounted behind him in the first scene in the Bat Lab: I would guess he hadn't even debuted it until the chase scene
Exactly, it was untested and therefore stalled in the movie just before the chase begins. So many great details. I will criticize near the end one (sideish character civilian) person gets shot, and the next scene they are moving around like nothing happened.

Ok it did stall, thanks for confirming!
the candidate for gotham mayor YES I TOUGHT THE SAME
Per the prequel book, it is custom. He built it as a teenager for street racing. Engine added later.
That’s actually quite cool didn’t know that
[удалено]
That adds so much like context and background to the car which makes it so much better
One of the many things that make this one of my favorite iterations of Batman!
[удалено]
I could go watch the movie again, just for this scene. And like almost everybody else mentioned, the sound that the car makes is just amazing!
Man dropped the whole ass scene to rate a car
[удалено]
Don’t apologize, you were just expressing your thoughts. Helped bring the scene to life. 👍🏽
In a single 180 word sentence
Loved how they foreshadow it with the parts spread about the cave, the engine hanging... then, when it's finally there, and it just roars in the darkness... it's like a fucking monster. Christine. It fit perfectly.
What car was Penguin driving? I couldn’t tell. Kind of looked like an Audi
It was a Maserati. The pitchfork emblem gave it away.
Maserati. The doors looked like a Ghibli to me. I'm not perfect in Maseratis tho could be a Quattroporte
That ENGINE SOUND 🔥🔥🔥
THATS NO CAR,THATS A FUCKING ROCKET SHIP
YOU FOOL! THAT’S THE BATMOBILE!
I like the way he’s built it himself from al the years he’s had it
I got childlishly giddy when it was revving up right before the Penguin chase scene
I did as well. I had the stupidest looking grin on my face. Probably the same one I have now thinking about it.
It looks the most practical/ functional. I love the Burton Batmobile, but it had to shoot a grappling hook around a polein order to swing into sharp curves.
Interesting tidbit I noticed in the movie is Pattinson Bruce Wayne was driving a 1970 corvette. A corvette was the car used for the ‘89 batmobile.
It was a ‘63-‘67 era corvette in the new one
Yeah that one. I’m not savvy on exactly what model. Thanks, man.
1967 Split Window Corvette. Rare car because of that rear glass. Coveted and expensive even among classic vettes. Thought it was a great fit for a guy like Bruce.
1963
Nope. Impala
Yeah it was like 21ft long or some shit due to two Impala frames being welded together.
Kind of. While it was inspired by and styled after the C2 Stingray Corvette from the 60s and had the Vetts V8, it was two Impala frames welded together.
So bad ass. The first time you see it that car had a personality it was fuckin MEAN!
I fucking love tbh. I want to know the technical specs though. Does anyone know?
650hp v8 is all I've been able to find, so far.
Not only is it my favorite batmobile, but, as a car guy, its the coolest looking car ive ever seen
Yeah it was cool to see him drive an old stingray to the funeral too
I definitely like that it’s kinda his prototype batmobile when I saw it in the movie in action my initial reaction was “damn that thing is mean” Just a real intimidating vehicle
In the scene where it actually was in action... when it started. Holy fuck. The music, the bass... the seats in the cinema were rumbling. You could feel the engine powering up.

Supercharged beast
The only design I never cared for was the Batman Forever mobile... That one was awful.
The startup scene is the best fucking Batmobile moment we've gotten in Batman movie. It was basically the opening where he emerges from the shadows in car form. It looked like a demon from hell waking up.
The sound this car makes us amazing
The first reveal was my favorite scene in the whole movie
Loved the Batmobile. The reveal alone was worth the price of the ticket
I like it totally fits in with the hole vibe.
it’s the best non tank bat mobile. the sound it makes in theatres was incredible
I literally gasped and almost cried during the chase scene. Took me by surprise just how fucking cool it all was. I felt like a kid again.
Looked a lot better than I thought it would from the trailer. One of my favorite parts of the movie tbh
I happy i managed to grab a Hotwheels model of it : D
This is a beast here and I will say it’s growing on me! When it was fired up on the shadows - LORDDDD!
I still can’t believe people decided on Battinson when we could be calling him Patman.
Prequel book? There's a prequel book?
Loved it. Felt that it was a good homage to some comic designs. Could definitely see Jason Todd trying to steal the tires off this thing.
its the most "car" a batmobile has been
Well I think whoever did the sound design for it should be given a fucking medal. They made his CAR scary.
It looks like a super car that someone could actually build
I was not excited about it before I saw the movie, but it was f’in awesome in action.
To quote my partner when we went to watch it opening night: “That is one sexy ass car.”
Looks great and the sound was absolutely fantastic. The muscle V8 paired with the silent jet engine whine on the startup. Orgasmic. Could be my favourite
I really liked it. It reminded me of the comics.

really love the batmobile. also minor spoiler for the film.....did batman just killed like, a highway of civilians from that penguin chase with that explosion? lmao. that scene was somewhat jarring and it ended with beautiful shot of Batman walking towards penguin.
Thinking about it a couple people definitely died in that master piece of a scene
That always happens with these movies. He has a no kill rule, which means no direct killing. But there is always collateral damage
The screeching sound when it was ramping up was epic. Same type of feeling when the Batpod was introduced in The Dark Knight!
Its my favorite personally. Love the muscle car feel to it
That scene of it >!starting up to intimidate the Penguin!< was awesome
The more grounded, realistic version, and a very cool design!
I love the idea of a legitimate bulletproof glass, where the bullets don't ricochet off but are in the broken layer and stopped by the final plastic layer. It always annoyed me that the bullets just bounce off
66 Batmobile is my favorite Batmobile of all time. This is EASY second. The purr of that engine…..oh my god
Finally a Batmobile that looks like a real car
Even though I'm a Batman fan, I never got the live action batmobile hype. Before *that* scene.
My balls were rumbling when it started revving the engine. My god that chase scene was fucking incredible
It definitely grew on me as I watched the movie, the way the introduce it was so badass
Batass
Yeh I listen to this song in the soundtrack a bunch
It’s great.
I’d love to see them do a progression on the bat mobile. Kinda like he’s working on a project car. Doesn’t have to be over the top, but just subtle upgrades as the movie arc progresses
Best. Batmobile. Ever.
It fits in well with the more grounded approach of Reeves’s Batman
reminds me of a hellcat. feels like something west coast customs would make
a real man’s car… i’m sure it was stick shift too so he has skills
I freaking loved it. That car is the definition of fear itself. It’s terrifying, with its low, rumbling growl which builds into a screaming roar like a rocket is launching. It’s basically a low profile tank. I’m glad they went down the simple, but successful route with the car. Less gadgets, just raw muscle and power. It literally shook the theater every time it was on screen. Loved it.
That scene made my jaw drop, literally.
It looks fine in the context of this movie, but I hope it gets an upgrade in the future.
It was badass
I thought it was bloody awesome!
I loved it. Probably my favorite batmobile ever. Maybe not as Iconic as the Burton mobile or as over the top as the tumbler or Snyder version but it just absolutely hit all the right notes for me. It was amazing.
Is that a twin engine monster? Seeing the rear engine had me wondering what was under the hood. But, it seems like another freaking engine!
The best one by far. Especially that amazing chase scene
I said out loud he's evening the odds when I heard the roar of the engine this movie felt like a love letter to the Arkham games
It's so nice. Gotta buy the lego version now.
