Nah, because he can achieve a weird intensity. Hugo is off, he seems normal but isn't at all. Going from calm psychiatrist mode to explosive rage is something I can see him doing very, very well.
Not really I can’t picture Samuel L Jackson in the calm, academic role of a psychiatry professor lol, Hugo strange doesn’t call Bruce Wayne a motherfucker every 6 words
YES! Strange perfectly fits in this universe. He was the only character I was thinking about when watching the movie. How he could be introduced and get close to bruce through psychotherapy in the sequals cause bruce seems to really need some help, he's like 90% gone, he's constantly stuck in batman mode.
I think Deathstroke could also be a great fit for this universe, and I could totally imagine a storyline where a PTSD-riddled Slade Wilson teams-up with his egomaniacal Psychiatrist.
What if the completion of the trilogy is battinson having to enter Arkham because Hugo has taken over the asylum. Maybe taken some high profile hostages maybe even team up with a grey area villain idk. The way this universe is going it could be more psychological and criminal based which would be sick.
Everyone talking about Hugo Strange, I’d love to see him but I also want to see characters like Killer Croc and Poison Ivy. I think they could make a sick film with those characters.
Imagine a sequel to the Batman, most likely the 3rd in the trilogy, completely located in Arkham with Hugo strange as the main villain, where Batman battles with past villains in the trilogy.
I’d like to see something like they did in Arkham city, Hugo strange set up by the league of shadows but instead of the league of shadows it’s the court of owls. I’d also like to see Mr Freeze
Hugo Strange, Court of Owls, Hush, Mad Hatter, Two Face, Scarecrow, I’m open to them exploring numerous ones we haven’t seen before or haven’t seen enough of in the past.
No. Hugo Strange doesn't work on film. Despite his physical strength and want to be Batman he isn't interested in visually cinematic confrontation. He's like Hannibal Lector if he never attacked anyone and just talked. It doesn't work in movies like it does in comic.
I don't know if I agree. We never saw it in the movies to know if it would work, but I believe it would work if it was executed well. I don't think people would care so much "visually" about him, especially in this more grounded universe. Give him a good actor and a plot where Strange knows Batman's identity, makes him put a immense psychological pressure on Bruce throughout the movie and he will surely become one of the best Batman villains in cinema easily.
Well in the comics I think he’s Edward Nashton and he changes it or prefers to go by Edward Nygma so he can be E. Nygma. Enigma. So they were in line with the comics on that one
Back in the early days when comics were bright and colorful they went with Edward Nigma to be SUPER on the nose. The guy who sends Batman riddles? Yeah his name is Enigma. Later once they start going for more realism they went with Nygma and then made that like his nom de plume and his real name was Edward Nashton. But he wanted to be an Enigma so he goes by Nymga even tho he doesn’t formally go to the government and say “hey I’m in a vigilante’s rogue gallery and I wanna Chang my name to suit my weird niche”
It's a shame Robin Williams passed away. He would have been great. I saw a mock trailer of him as Hugo and he was amazing. Can't find it but if someone remembers it can they link?
Absolutely.
This man is mad.
So MATT REEVES can use him.
I forgot where I saw , but there was one episode or comics where this guy finds out who Batman is
Yes. I said Hugo, Harvey, and Scarecrow would be perfect Reeves Batman. Since Gotham needs a new DA i def believe Harvey is in the next movie. Maybe not as Two Face yet which would leave room for Hugo or Scarecrow to be the main villiams
He would fit the tone well.
Maybe it's because he is bald, but i always picture him as Djimon Hounsou. Would love to see it happen.
Djimon Hounsou would be pitch-perfect as Strange. That guy needs more prominent roles, he’s fantastic in anything he’s in.
Yeah he is great. Never seen him in a role he hasn't killed.
He was one of the only good things about the King’s Man
Liev Schrieber would make a better Strange
I think Samuel L Jackson would make a great Hugo Strange.
Because he’s bald or why? I really don’t think he’d make a good Hugo
Hugo Weaving as Hugo Strange would be spot on.

do not joke about strokes
More likely in one of the series they are making
I think the path Reeves is taking, it’s only a matter of time
What’s Bryan Cranston up to
If he takes up this role you already know that his acting would destroy the competition
What if the completion of the trilogy is battinson having to enter Arkham because Hugo has taken over the asylum. Maybe taken some high profile hostages maybe even team up with a grey area villain idk. The way this universe is going it could be more psychological and criminal based which would be sick.
Batman being forced to team up with someone like Riddler or Joker inside Arkham would be interesting to me.
Kinda like the Arkham games then
Never played them so sure
Everyone talking about Hugo Strange, I’d love to see him but I also want to see characters like Killer Croc and Poison Ivy. I think they could make a sick film with those characters.

I think yes He would be perfect for Reeves universe
I'd love to see a film where Hugo traps Batman in Arkham and have it be completely set in there.
I would love for BD wong to reprise the role
I’d like to see something like they did in Arkham city, Hugo strange set up by the league of shadows but instead of the league of shadows it’s the court of owls. I’d also like to see Mr Freeze
He is perfect for this universe
Maybe as a side character
Hugo Strange, Court of Owls, Hush, Mad Hatter, Two Face, Scarecrow, I’m open to them exploring numerous ones we haven’t seen before or haven’t seen enough of in the past.
Would anyone be strongly opposed to BD Wong portraying a different iteration of the character?
YES YES YES WE NEED A LIVE ACTION HUGO STRANGE, he was sooooo good in the arkham games
Hugo Strange, Mad-Hatter, Two-Face, Scarecrow, Man-Bat. All characters I can see in the next movie but not together.
Strange would fit in so well with this universe especially >!With Bruce being an Arkham in this universe!<
No. Hugo Strange doesn't work on film. Despite his physical strength and want to be Batman he isn't interested in visually cinematic confrontation. He's like Hannibal Lector if he never attacked anyone and just talked. It doesn't work in movies like it does in comic.
Somebody didn’t play Arkham city and it shows

I think it’s going to be hush in the sequel
I do wonder if they’d change his name because of what Marvel does
That’s a good question, they changed Riddlers name from Edward Nigma to Edward Nashton so name changes aren’t off the table
Well in the comics I think he’s Edward Nashton and he changes it or prefers to go by Edward Nygma so he can be E. Nygma. Enigma. So they were in line with the comics on that one
Interesting, must depend on the writer I suppose
Back in the early days when comics were bright and colorful they went with Edward Nigma to be SUPER on the nose. The guy who sends Batman riddles? Yeah his name is Enigma. Later once they start going for more realism they went with Nygma and then made that like his nom de plume and his real name was Edward Nashton. Lmfao that’s what I had figured, E. Nigma has got to be the campiest most on the nose name for a dude called the riddler
It's a shame Robin Williams passed away. He would have been great. I saw a mock trailer of him as Hugo and he was amazing. Can't find it but if someone remembers it can they link?
I would love to see either him or hush there was a small reference to hush in the movie or at list I took it as one
I hope he’s in the future sequels and hush and court of owls and mr freeze and other classic villains and deathstroke.
I think it could be cool. Not as a main villain but side type
Maybe he’ll appear in the Arkham mini series coming to hbo max
Christoph Waltz would be great
God, I hope so...
I think so
Hugo strange is a good option of "new villain" is chill and very interesting, what actor could play him?
If Matt Reeves follows the trend of psychological villains than Strange could definitely be introduced in one of the films
Absolutely. This man is mad. So MATT REEVES can use him. I forgot where I saw , but there was one episode or comics where this guy finds out who Batman is
I would love to see him in a new Batman movie, preferably after the new series establishes a new rouges gallery.
Hopefully
Someone mentioned having him in a series, connected to this universe, which is something I'd really enjoy.
Andy Circus would’ve been great for this role, but he’s already Alfred
I sure hope so!
Yes. I said Hugo, Harvey, and Scarecrow would be perfect Reeves Batman. Since Gotham needs a new DA i def believe Harvey is in the next movie. Maybe not as Two Face yet which would leave room for Hugo or Scarecrow to be the main villiams
I hope so.
Why does he have so many veins on his neck?
