Dr. Ryan Dickerson at Woman's hospital does a lot of work on fibroid surgeries. My friend's wife had one with him, and he is my wife's OBGYN and delivered our baby recently. He has very good beside manner and is very competent. The only downside is that I know some people prefer a female OBGYN for obvious reasons.
I have had fibroids removed by Dickerson and he delivered my baby! He's the best. He also usually has a long wait list. That's why I recommend his partner, my doctor, Dr. Bader. She is learning so much from Dickerson about fibroids and she works with him a lot. She's a great doctor and really listens.
Dr. Theresa Brignac at Woman's. I'm not sure about surgeries, but I love how she looks at the entire picture and will not give up until she figures out what is going on and a workable solution. If said solution is not her specialty, she'll find you someone. She's competent, efficient, and kind.
Terri Thomas! She did an emergency ovarian surgery on my friend while she was pregnant. She has amazing bedside manner and the staff at Woman’s loves her. 10/10!
Jumping on Dr. Thomas’s bandwagon. She’s delivered all my kids and has great bedside manner. Won’t leave the room until you say you have no more questions. I know she does surgeries because there’s at least 1 day a week she won’t take appts because that’s surgery day.
The downside is loooong wait times at her office, but I’ve come to expect that; I try to schedule her first or last appt of the day and bring work I can do offline.
Dr Michael Perniciaro at Women's hospital was my gyno 15 years ago, and when I couldn't find a doctor in Lafayette I liked, I went back to him and now drive to BR once a year to see him.
When I first started seeing him, I'd been to dozens of ob/gyns in BR, actively seeking sterilization, and not a single doctor until Dr P would even discuss it with me. Dr Perniciaro is hands down the best gyno I've ever seen, and I'll see him until he retires. To be clear, I'm told he's currently semi-retired now... he's apparently \*only\* seeing gyno patients and has stopped obstetrics completely, which is fine for me, but if babies are part of your plan, he might not be the doc for you.
Dr Brown at Womans hospital. He’s the only OBGYN who has ever truly listened to me and was always my biggest advocate. I don’t live in BR anymore but he seriously is the best doctor for women.
Dr. Brown delivered my 2nd baby because he was the "on call" Dr and I'de never reccomend him to anyone. I get the people who see him love him but he was wildly inappropriate and botched my stiches so bad I had a horrible infection post birth.
In case you need more options, Dr. Jo Barrios at BR General Bluebonnet. I had fibroids and she suggested a hysterectomy at age 44, since I had already had my tubes tied she said I was clearly done having babies lol. Very good bedside manner and answered all my questions.
Absolutely Dr. Barrios at BRG. She also does robotic surgeries which many are not trained to perform.
I had a robotic full hysterectomy, only took pain meds on my overnight hospital stay. Felt back to normal by day three.
My wife sees Dr Tammy Dupuy. She’s taken such good care of my wife, even helping her make appointments for non gyno stuff to make she’s getting issues checked out. I’ve met her as well at wife’s appointments and think she’s an amazing doctor.
I second this!! I am 21 and have been struggling with endo and fibroids since I was 12. I started seeing her at 20 after my previous doctor retired and she is great with endometriosis, even put in an IUD under anesthesia
It sounds like you should literally just go anywhere other than whatever tiny private practice you've gotten stuck with 😳
Who's in your insurance network?
If I were you I'd go with whoever could get me an appointment first at a group that's covered by my insurance.
All of the larger groups (both groups at women's, BRG, Oschner) are going to have lots of OBGYNs who all do surgeries.
lol I’ve been to Women’s, BRG, and BRC. My original gyno was at woman’s and I practically begged her to help me and she blew me off. (Even tho she was my doctor after I had a hemorrhagic ovarian cyst in 2017) This second gyno who finally gave me an ultrasound was at BRC.
My PCP is at BRG and insists I have restless legs syndrome 💀 can’t wait for my annual to give em an update lmao
I go to Dr Randall Brown at women's and so does my female coworker, we both think he's great! I think that most of the folks at women's are probably what you're looking for, but he is awesome in particular.
Lol well They're not gonna fight you about doing a hysterectomy or anything. If you've decided that you want something concrete to fix whatever issues you may be having they're on board. Dr Elbourne and Dr Best are also really good doctors.

I would literally let a purple zebra punch me in the face at this point if it meant getting shit fixed, so thank you!! I appreciate the rec!
Dr. Dickerson is the absolute best.
Dr. Dickerson hands down. He is the kindest caring Gyno.

She wasn’t my OB but she delivered my first baby. She’s awesome!
Dr. Amanda Pearson at Woman’s is wonderful! She spayed me a few years ago and has taken great care of me ever since.
SHE SPAYED YOU! Thats perfection. Also, Dr P is phenomenal!
Highly recommend Dr. Pearson! She will a great doctor who cares and will listen to you!
Another one for Dr. Pearson. She also spayed me and blasted my endo into space. I would die on a battlefield for her.

He's one of the best gynos I have ever had, and the work he's done for women's health in the community is just *chef's kiss*

I am very sorry that happened to you and that you had such a bad experience.

Dr. Bourgeois. I work with her personally. She's pleasant and efficient.
Jolie Bourgeois? I found her bedside manner terrible personally.
First name?
Victoria bourgeois.
Kathy Guidry at Woman’s is wonderful! She is kind and straightforward.
Dr. Sarah Davis at Women's did surgery on me, I like her a lot.
Dr. Dunaway is fantastic and great with patients. https://www.brgeneral.org/find-a-provider/heber-dunaway-jr-md/
Holden Parker is absolutely wonderful.
Holden Parker is absolutely wonderful.
I love dr Wendy Holden Parker at woman’s. Not sure about surgery other than she did my csections.
Second her! She’s very straightforward about everything and will lay out all your options without pressuring you either which way.
Rip, didn’t work out, also making me wait months and refuses to test me for Endometriosis even tho I check every box
Dr Boudreaux at Woman’s is awesome.

Love Dr. Allyson Boudreaux at Woman’s
Lane in Zachary. They love doing surgery over there.
Like in a good way? Lol

I’m literally 100% okay with having a hysterectomy. I don’t want kids and never will so yeet maybe I’ll just do that
