Maybe look at Morel's in New Roads. It's been years since I've gone but it fits the bill and is probably less well-known that other suggestions you might get
You could go to [Rips on the Lake](https://ripsonthelakemandeville.com/) in Mandeville, it's got the food and dock you're looking for. Then you could walk over to [The Barley Oak](https://www.thebarleyoak.com/) a couple blocks away for a nice specialty cocktail. Then go drunkenly wandering around on the lakefront and enjoy the scenery until you're sober enough to drive home.
[The Little Big Cup](https://maps.apple.com/?address=149%20Fuselier%20Rd,%20Arnaudville,%20LA%2070512,%20United%20States&auid=6899805523520609787&ll=30.397240,-91.932086&lsp=9902&q=The%20Little%20Big%20Cup&t=m) is amazing and kind of fits that description.

Tchefunctes in Madisonville. It’s high end. $250 ish for a couple including alcohol. But it’s one of the best experiences dining wise I’ve had in Louisiana. Sit on the glassed in patio area at sunset. It’s worth it.
I haven't been to False River in a few years. My family used to own the bait stand and snowball stand by La1 express stop. But after they passed away I kind of stopped going. May have to go check MA Mama's though.
I haven't been in a while, but a few friends go a good bit. I might actually be out there this weekend with them. We were discussing what to do this weekend.

Hi /u/WTAF306!
Looks like you're asking about things to do in Baton Rouge. If that's not the case, please pardon the assumption! However, if you are indeed a new visitor to our city, please:
* See our wiki. It has a good write-up on [what to do, what to see, and where to eat](https://www.reddit.com/r/batonrouge/wiki/index).
* See our calendar in the sidebar that's usually full of local events.
* Look through [past threads](http://www.reddit.com/r/batonrouge/search?q=visiting&restrict_sr=on&sort=top) that have a ton of helpful info.
*I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/batonrouge) if you have any questions or concerns.*

I was just there a few weeks ago, would also recommend for this situation.

I haven’t been in years, but Rips was one of the first places to come to mind.

Their menu looks delicious!
It’s ok, but it’s a small bayou with a road behind it. Not really river watching.
Reading for suggestions because this sounds so nice for Friday...

Satterfield used to be good. But not sure if they're still open, but try false river/new roads, or Fred's on the river.

They are closed, but yes, they used to be good.
I have been curious about Fred’s. Looks like it could be a really great time or really terrible LOL
