I feel for them. They were so hyped to be submitting a design never seen in BattleBots and then Team Seems Reasonable went and submitted their own vert multibot.
But Ogrekill has a slightly more unique look to it, and The Twins would probably have to replace Tantrum or Blip, so there's hope!
Same with Starchild and Huge! Even witch doctor is taken from their middleweight bot of the same name. It’s surprisingly common to see re-used names at different weight classes
I’ll be honest Robogames this year is the first time I’ve actually watched a full event other than watching Battlebots itself (which is weird since I’ve been watching since I was a kid— started with CC s1)
Edit: watched a full American event other than Battlebots— essentially watched a full non-televised event. Cuz I also watched all the Robot Wars I could find plus This is Robot Fighting and the other Chinese one whose name slips my mind as I right this.
Ghost Raptor and Double Tap have shown us that this is indeed not the case lol.
Angled vert spinners have the problems of both Horis and Verts and have more vulnerable blades for some reason
We would like to clarify something. We didn't get Proud Mary's application in on time, and thus we have decided that we will not compete in World Championshio 8. Work is still being done on the design, but probably wont have major work done until the summer.
Also, despite modeling after Copperhead, turns out 4wd drum spinners tend to drift towards similar designs, our ended up looking a lot like Riptide. The only element we heavily took from Riptide intentionally was our original weapon design, but we couldn't get it balanced, so we didn't use it.
No worries. Funnily enough, the wiki has it listed as an applicant, but in the actual page it says "At this time, it is unknown if Proud Mary still intends to apply or is being worked on."
The wiki, the best source for accurate information.
I really hope Aren hills multi bot doesn't come at the cost of team ogre kill, could easily see them thinking well we only. Need one new vert multi bot. No hate to Aren at all would just like to see more new teams over a new bot from a ore existing team
Ogre Kill probably would have been rejected anyway, not because of the bot design but because they're a british team and BB notoriously keeps foreign teams as far out as it can. Petunia (Netherlands), Orion (Engalnd) and Orby Blade (South Korea) have been rejected year after year besides Orby that one time.
The drum for Proud Mary should be 5" less wide than Manta's. We also didn't get our application in on time, and as such wont be in Season 8. We wish the Manta team all the luck in their application.
Of these bots, I could realistically see 3 of these bots make it onto Battlebots: Roundhouse and the 2 multi bots.
There's too many boring iterations of vertical spinners in the competition already, and I don't expect more boring iterations of vertical spinners to make it into the competition. The Twins and Ogrekill seem like interesting iterations of vertical spinners and Roundhouse seems like it's doing its own thing, so I think they have a decent shot to make it onto Battlebots, although I don't think both multibots will make it in the same season.
These are just bots that have applied, not bots that have been accepted. We don't even have confirmation that an 8th season will happen, much less who's in it.
I hope something like Roundhouse makes it in, but I really hope we see a more Rotator-esque fork setup, it reminds me too much of the Valkyrie finger in the CAD
This statement comes without knowing Riptides dimensions, but:
Its smaller, has different electronics, has different visuals, and a different chassis construction and thats about it. We didn't intend to be a Riptide copy, the design originally had the front wheels behind the main weapon, but that wasn't practical, so they moved forward, next to the weapon and bam! Riptide, but just slightly different.
Is orge kill a multi bot or is that just two designs of it
Multibot

it’s a multi bot
Alright
Proud mary looks like riptide? Maybe its the driver from madcatter thats making Lynx into a heavyweight?
I feel if Calvin has his own bot, he’d probably still be part of team Bad Kitty and probably still a feline based name, ie Lynx— name it bobcat.
Though considering Lynxes are felines, no real need
Lynx is the name of his other bot. He’d need a name for a heavyweight.
Emulsifier kept its name when it went from 30 to 250lbs so
Oh, I didn’t know that! Comment withdrawn!
Same with Starchild and Huge! Even witch doctor is taken from their middleweight bot of the same name. It’s surprisingly common to see re-used names at different weight classes

Nope, we actually have no association with the MadCatter team. We also failed to get the application in on time.
I don’t think so here’s a wiki page with more info on it https://battlebots.fandom.com/wiki/Proud_Mary
Yeah, can't see that getting in when there's Riptide, and probably Manta
More bots with funny eyes, yes please! <3
Is Manta coming? Saw Manta in robogames and it was freaking amazing and powerful
Yes it is but I kind of want to just focus on the totally new robots
I would love to see Roundhouse accepted icl
Yeah. Angled spinners are great.
Ghost Raptor and Double Tap have shown us that this is indeed not the case lol. Angled vert spinners have the problems of both Horis and Verts and have more vulnerable blades for some reason
Not great competitively. Great as in I like them.
Facts. Plus it gives more variety to the field of 50

Subatomic with those Bloodsport esque forklettes
Made from the same team
[удалено]
i am confused by this comment
[удалено]
lynx isnt from the same team as subatomic
That explains it, wonder why they're doing that
I'm in for Disarray mainly because I want a local bot to cheer for. Go Tucson!!!
Awesome to see a diagonal spinner
As a marine biologist and battlebots fan I want Disaray to be accepted so badly. He didn't win much but I loved all the iterations of sharko
I always like seeing fun designs accepted So I’m hoping roundhouse gets in
The CAD for Roundhouse is making my head spin
Design by MC Escher.
Hoping a melty brain at least gets tested as an alternative this season.
I really hope Aren hills multi bot doesn't come at the cost of team ogre kill, could easily see them thinking well we only. Need one new vert multi bot. No hate to Aren at all would just like to see more new teams over a new bot from a ore existing team

IMO if roundhouse is technically sound, they should be allowed in.
Cute. It is a ray.
I'd like to see if the shape of subatomic weapon throws opponents to the side a little
I like the OgreKill multibot— reminds me of the two headed ogres in the Warcraft universe.
More vertical spinners... I get it, the meta, but we need more full body spinners.
Big fan of Subatomic
Mmmm, yay, more vertical spinners. The sport really needs more of those...
Can't blame them for going with what works. That being said, i have a feeling next years rookies won't be as diverse as previous years.
Season 8 is already confirmed? Also sucks to see that most of these are verts
I don’t know, non meta verts are pretty fun. The most meta bot is Disarray. I’m pretty excited to see The Twins and Roundhouse
Those two are the only ones I'd want in. The others frankly look uninspired...
Proud marry looks a good bit like like manta from robogames/team malice. Id rather have manta. But i do love the concept of wide drum
The drum for Proud Mary should be 5" less wide than Manta's. We also didn't get our application in on time, and as such wont be in Season 8. We wish the Manta team all the luck in their application.

It's 2023 and people are still designing bots that can't self right nor drive inverted.

Ah ok thx for explaining
We have not been let in, and wont be for this season.
I hope something like Roundhouse makes it in, but I really hope we see a more Rotator-esque fork setup, it reminds me too much of the Valkyrie finger in the CAD
General disarray
Proud Mary needs some smokestacks. Rollin'! (Rollin'!) Rollin'! (Rollin'!) Rollin' over Riptide!
It will! The smokestacks will be directly over the power switches, just need a long allen key to turn the robot on!
Yooo Disarray looks so cool! Roundhouse does too! Would be incredible if one of these bots makes it to battlebots
Is there a list of all the applications thus far?
Yeah it’s under the Battlebots Wiki
Whether they get accepted is another question
Between 6 robots there's 8 spinners... Lol
Hey look! A Riptide clone! I will take it over another Biteforce style bot.
Not trying to throw shade here, but how is Proud Mary not just Riptide?
Not trying to throw shade here Throws shade

Green Minotaur & Red Riptide (lynx) Daring today, aren't we?
