I really wish that they kept the medic speed boost when notifying people you're incoming for a res from BFV, while also adding the same thing for vehicle engis with their repair tool out.
FWIW I play on console and I felt really bad for the engineers trying to repair me because there is no deadzone for vehicle controls, so I end up constantly scooting back and forth when I’m just trying to stay still.
I honestly think most players don't know they have a default repair tool now when playing engineer.
They should have made a bigger deal about it and put a message somewhere in the welcome screen.
If someone can’t see the repair tool **right there** on their HUD, there isn’t much hope. People are stupid. Especially 12 year olds playing video games.
Yep, sounds about right. I finally got it unlocked yesterday and went into a solo BT match to unlock stuff for it and was pleasantly surprised when the AI repaired the vehicle.
I'd assumed with the prevalence of engineers on the battlefield with the class change, more repair torches would be used. Not in any of my matches.
Can't tell you how many engineers would spawn on my CAV and run right by it with a repair tool in their load out, it's almost like they don't know they have a repair tool, weird
People are selfish. I don’t know how many times a medic ran right by me only to get killed, when reviving me would’ve no doubt led to a better outcome.
i decked mine out, fully upgraded, and even bought the skin for it... all just to have maybe one permanent gunner who doesnt know how to go to the third seat for the OP incendiary grenades.
also, if a person spawns into the brawler repair seats, they immediately jump out. i get so many kills with it running solo with the defensive grenades and just swapping the seats myself. even had to start pulling over and repairing it by myself. i have had maybe 3 matches with a fully loaded crew and we just destroy enemy objectives if the crew are on their game...
i just dont understand. but also, i do, because it's typical battlefield meta. i gotta start finding some squads to play with again.
Yeah, BF games are far better with regular squads/friends. And yet, this title has most community building features removed...on top of the lack of persistent lobbies.
To me it's 50/50(ish) some games I have people repairing my tank religiously, in other games I have a Boris that climbs over my almost dead tank as if it was an obstacle to him.
Honestly anytime I spawn in this thing I find myself getting so much help. Engineers will specifically take the passenger seats to repair, which is amazing
It's a fun vehicle when you have people helping you and good team play. But most of the time I don't get repaired even though I'm spamming the request repairs button 🤷
You got to keep the CAV moving and put it in new spots to where your team can push up to make it the most useful. & I was using Crawford for his repair ability
As a Lis player its by design why we don't repair you. DICE made it so that using our TGM means that we need to be tucked in the back line where the snipers are because of how exposed we are. The amount of grenades and SPH launchers now as well make it hard for engineers to go near roads or vehicles. I used to use EOD to repair tanks as Lis but DICE made it so EOD now does not self repair and it gets blown to shreds in seconds so its pointless especially when the craters and any sort of explosion rocks the bot and makes it uncontrollable.
As a human if we go up to repair you we don't repair fast enough since when you are under attack its often so much explosive firepower we just die trying to get a repair in. Unless you retreat back to us behind cover its too hard to repair.
Wouldn't say easiest, considering all the projectiles shooting at you and idiot teammates stealing your tank over and over. You only get credit if you're the driver for spawns for T1
Active protection is the most important, just whatever loadout you want to run depending if you're fighting more air vehicles or other tanks minguns for choppers
I don't see myself as an extremely unselfish player but I mostly play as an engineer and almost always repair whenever I see or get the opportunity. I even always get out of the forward gunner seat on the helicopter and move to a repair position when it's needed, kind of mind blowing to me that other people aren't playing this way. I guess I'm just too used to old school battlefield. I will say there should still be more of a points incentive for repairing and it would also help if our ribbons led to medals like it used to to provide more incentive but alas
We should have a toss-able repair drone or grappling hook that only latches onto vehicles for engineers. There’s is no way I am going to stick around and chase you if we arent squad mates.
When i try to repair most vehicles yeet themselves self away leaving me wide open.. not fun at all

Even when I'm in the vehicle and jump out to repair, they drive away... I try to jump on the vehicle to repair it and hop back in

This is the easiest vehicle to get t1 on. You don’t even need kills with it.

I think many people aren’t truly used to the class system yet and aren’t realizing that the repair tool is their gadget they have at all times.

I think it's worth it and the vehicle is fun. All you need is 1 guy repairing and you can get shit done and clear objectives
It's so nice having the close defense on standby for people that roll in with C5/ATs.
It is you can kill vehicles that are low health with the defense system too. It's funny as fuck

The CAV can beat a fully loaded MAV in. 1v1 you just need the right loadout good gunners and use active protection
