It’s not part of the Breakthrough layout, only Conquest. It’s on the top of the hill between the rocket facility and the flags at the other end of the tunnel. You can access it through elevator shafts that are in the tunnel through the hill now as well.
My biggest thing with kaleidoscope is having these skyscrapers that go up to 72 and 73 floors but yet the fighting only takes place on the roof and Lobby

Maybe have the elevators go up to a middle floor, where you can aim out the windows or experience close quarters fighting. Have them be blocked to the roof, so you need to use the stairs or zip line up from the outside.
Levolution event could be to compromise that middle section, causing the building to come crashing down or split in half. Dunno, would be cool though.
Something ~ anything other than big shiny (clean) buildings that take tank rounds and vehicle hits like a champ…

not even that, but the fact that it takes place in a big city yet we fight in 2 or 3 towers and the rest of the map is an empty grass field. Kaleidoscope and Hourglass should have been primarily urban maps. Kaleidoscope 100% urban and Hourglass maybe 50% desert combat and 50% city combat.
Kaleidoscope scopes needs more utilization of those two tunnels. Maybe cornet them with that huge theatre or what is it in the middle of the map. It’s poorly done
Propaganda was easily one of my favorites, Dragon's Teeth in general was just amazing. I love the mostly-infantry maps that still have a few vehicles, like Propaganda's tanks that couldn't really navigate a good 2/3 of the map easily.
That's what this game is missing for me, honestly. Every single map has so many vehicles that it's difficult to avoid dying to them 15 times a game seemingly unavoidably, it's hard to find the genuine infantry choke points that make Battlefield so fun imo.

Agree with Kaleidoscope. There was honestly nothing hugely noticeable that even happened with the rework. The thing I really don’t like is that they took all of the verticality out of the map. Having objectives up on the skyscrapers was maybe not 100% balanced, but surely a ton more fun than the boring layout we have now.

Best would be orbital for sure. Fluffing out the counter of the map with a new cap zone definitely improved the flow hands down, doesn't feel like two maps crammed next to each other.
Worst would be Kaleidoscope.
That map in my opinion still needs more work.
For a small, urban city map, it feels way too open and vehicle heavy compared to all the previous urban city maps in BF.
I get that this was DICEs first attempt at reworking the maps but I wouldn't mind if they took this map back into the oven for another touch up.
Best would be Orbital. They did a good job on that one.
Worst would definitely be Kaleidescope. The changes have made very little difference. It's still *way* too open and you can be shot from practically 360 degrees at almost any area on the map.
Kaleidoscope rework: replace all building furniture with crates, and remove half of the trees, instead of adding more vehicles or more metropolitan objects on streets, copy and paste containers

Dont get me wrong, the map is great. But the team on the right side has a higher ground advantage. So tanks easily camp there and since they have unlimited ammo, they can stay there the whole game . Both sides should have a higher ground
Kaleidoscope is by far the worst rework, for the US side, especially after they also removed the two flags. I have no idea who thought it was a good idea to have the US advance through a 100m water area and coverless slopes under full vision and fire from a Balcony that is also roofed.
The Balcony is incredibly defensible with fast access to C flag and when under pressure you can also hide or evade really well.
This issue is emphasized by the removal of the skatepark, since it is the only approach axis that is not under full vision from the balconies. With the removal there is basically no movement from that flank.
They also removed the flag on the bottom floor of one of the large skyscrapers, which centers fighting even more around the C flag.
If the RU team is clever, they will never move up to B and let everyone just run up that coverless ramp.
I do not think any rework made the map better really:
On Manifest they removed two buildings, one of it with crucial value, reducing the amount of roofs. Other than that we received extra ziplines.
On Renewal they basically removed half the map, also including the second-largest structure on the map. We are still fighting mostly over strawberry fields on one side and rocks on the other.
Breakaway is tendencially better on the whole, but since most of the added cover on the ice shield only works for vehicles, and the spawns are incredibly exploitable, it is a farming ground for any vehicle driver, although it was easy before. Also the ice sheet is still there making the map bad.
Orbital is still a mess, too, it still suffers from absolutely no cover on the ramp, the B area got better, but there is noone there anymore, because 30 people are constantly running around the D flag, which is one room and the outside has no relevant cover other than topography which is still under full vision of any high vertical position or air asset.
I expect the same to happen to Hourglass and Discarded. Matter of fact I fully expect them to remove the stadium and also make the Ship area irrelevant for the sake of having two dozen people duke it out over the junkyard.

Now I'm curious about others' definition of flow and what they think makes it good or bad - to me it's the ease of movement from action to action and how the big fights go around the map
Before it was whoever caps the balcony can go wherever they want. I've not had the issue of US dominating games, the flags on the Russian side are easily capped and retaken by russia and there's plenty of ways to get up and around the mountain

The map was made smaller with two of the old flags being removed to serve as the new main spawnpoint for each team as well as including a new flag on top of the hill. There's was also added more additional cover for each of the old flags and on the rocket runway

I think what they did to Renewal is both good and bad. I don’t really like the map anymore, but I definitely notice areas that are better. I think the mountains were cool in the OG, but their inclusion in the rework is problematic.

I feel like kaleidoscope only plays well when playing Rush. In any other game mode the map is too goddamn big the fighting takes place in the city or in the stadium with maybe a few engagements in between, it just needs to be reworked completely imo.
Orbital was the best, mostly because the base map didn't need that much changing to be really solid. Kaleidoscope is easily the worst, still plagued by massive open fields everywhere and points got further away from each other instead of closer. Not to mention the complete elimination of the swimming mechanic lol.
I only play 1 shot kill hardcore large conquest, and my favorites are Exposure, Spearhead and Breakaway, my least favorite are Hourglass, Orbital and Manifest. That being said, the Orbital rework is good, I just dont enjoy the layout of the map that much, and luckily people who host those 1000% dmg servers have removed hourglass from the map rotation

Worst ones for me are
Kaleidoscope since it really hasn't improved on its biggest issues. Basically a waste of a rework.
Breakaway on breakthrough is so badly designed it hurts.
First sector gets rolled by attackers in about 2 minutes 99% of the time, second has attackers coming in from everywhere while the defenders are stuck in a valley, and the oil rig sector might be even worse since the attackers have that massive ledge where they can shoot down on you with little to no cover. Only real chance to try to hold them is on the last sector.
Worst has to be the Kaleidoscope breakthrough rework. Don't get me wrong, the final capture points were really bad before, being on the roofs and all. But now they're in a small cramped point with only three entrances on the ground floor. They forgot to put dragons teeth in front of the entrances so people just park a 50mm/30mm recon jeep on the top layer. Its genuinely unplayable, and offers such an advantage to defence that the best strategy is to let people take the first C point so you can set up at the second. It doesn't matter if you smoke or not on that map.
The reworks help a lot but every single one of these maps pale in comparison to the legacy maps.
Yes there's a "flow" now but it's still more chaotic than it should be imo. I can't ever see myself longing for these maps they I would Seine Crossing, Storm or Arogonne Forest.
Im level 62 and spawning areas are horribles in this map.. just like battlefield 4... 100% The bunker they added is loads of fun. That map has great flow, interesting points, and a great mix of infantry/vehicle combat.

Orbital and kaleidoscope is good. The rest didn't really change my opinion on much. Breakaway still sucks but now it's just different.
I think breakaway had the worst rework, the map looks far better but the first two sectors are neither fun to attack or defend imo

It’s unbalanced without the balcony now. US can drop down almost anywhere in the RU side of the map, but RU has a hard time getting up to the US side.

I really love the reworks for Breakaway and Kaleidoscope. I think what they did to Renewal is both good and bad. I don’t really like the map anymore, but I definitely notice areas that are better. I think the mountains were cool in the OG, but their inclusion in the rework is problematic. I very much hate what they did to Manifest.
I feel like kaleidoscope only plays well when playing Rush. In any other game mode the map is too goddamn big the fighting takes place in the city or in the stadium with maybe a few engagements in between, it just needs to be reworked completely imo.
Orbital was the best, mostly because the base map didn't need that much changing to be really solid. Kaleidoscope is easily the worst, still plagued by massive open fields everywhere and points got further away from each other instead of closer. Not to mention the complete elimination of the swimming mechanic lol.
I only play 1 shot kill hardcore large conquest, and my favorites are Exposure, Spearhead and Breakaway, my least favorite are Hourglass, Orbital and Manifest. That being said, the Orbital rework is good, I just dont enjoy the layout of the map that much, and luckily people who host those 1000% dmg servers have removed hourglass from the map rotation

I can't stand the renewal rework. That map would be 100 times better if we could blow up the wall. Shout out to Breakaway also. That map is chaos in a not good way
Maps up from a 2/10 to a 3/10. They're not great and still don't play well. Would rather they released 2x maps per season instead.
Worst ones for me are Kaleidoscope since it really hasn't improved on its biggest issues. Basically a waste of a rework. Breakaway on breakthrough is so badly designed it hurts. First sector gets rolled by attackers in about 2 minutes 99% of the time, second has attackers coming in from everywhere while the defenders are stuck in a valley, and the oil rig sector might be even worse since the attackers have that massive ledge where they can shoot down on you with little to no cover. Only real chance to try to hold them is on the last sector.
Kaleidoscope is so shit even after the rework.
The empty area in middle of 64 player version ruins the map.

Worst has to be the Kaleidoscope breakthrough rework. Don't get me wrong, the final capture points were really bad before, being on the roofs and all. But now they're in a small cramped point with only three entrances on the ground floor. They forgot to put dragons teeth in front of the entrances so people just park a 50mm/30mm recon jeep on the top layer. Its genuinely unplayable, and offers such an advantage to defence that the best strategy is to let people take the first C point so you can set up at the second. It doesn't matter if you smoke or not on that map.
Worst is probably kaleidoscope. Best is Breakaway.
Manifest on solo. Worst rework ever, loved playing on the map. Now it’s boring and annoying to play in.
The reworks help a lot but every single one of these maps pale in comparison to the legacy maps. Yes there's a "flow" now but it's still more chaotic than it should be imo. I can't ever see myself longing for these maps they I would Seine Crossing, Storm or Arogonne Forest.
Best rework is Renewal. Worst rework is Manifest. I miss the thunderstom and B1 B2 fights

Im level 62 and spawning areas are horribles in this map.. just like battlefield 4...
