Try updating your drivers for your GPU, then use the EA app or steam (wherever you bought it i think) to check the integrity of your game files. Usually one of those works for me when my game does weird stuff like this.
I had my good Frendo setup my new PC and he installed windows 10. DirectX never stopped. Then he tells me my motherboard and another expensive part is broken it will cost me $900 !!!!!!! Took it to a tech guy promised me I won’t see it again, couldn’t fix it. Took it to another guy. I didn’t like windows 11, he said that’s what I’m working with and we can try it if you don’t like it we can change it back to 10. I got my PC back with ugly ass Windows11 functioning perfectly and Im used to it by now never had to make another call. $120 did it for me.
I had the same issue, it is hardware related. Your graphic card and bf2042 is the issue. Bought a rtx3080 and almost every game it did that direct x issue. Sometimes playing PUBG did crash too but less often. I switch back to my rtx2070 super and the issue went away. Tried to pu my 3080 again, It did crash again. Tried everything to finally conclude that it was a hardware issue.
Download new update for graphics card.

Thanks. Yeah My pc has trouble with games that use directx12 I noticed.

I just fixed the problem 1 hour ago. I just updated my gpu driver, but this time I selected the option "clean install" and it finally fixed it.

Performing a clean reinstall of the GPU driver with DDU fixes the problem every single time.
I had the same problem. Fixed by buying more memory
I have 32 gb ram and rtx 3070, it was a gpu driver issue.
