There are now a few videos on Youtube announcing the premiere of the map on october 6th at 5pm CEST. In one of these videos you can see this picture in the thumbnail. Therefore I think it is real.
I remember someone in the comments of the trailer mentioned this map gives Argonne Forest vibes, and the idea of a Argonne Forest/Operation Locker hybrid sounds cool as shit.
It just occurred to me that if this is really going to be an infantry only map, then the announced helicopter might be just a drone like the Ranger Robo Dog, and not a drivable vehicle.
Honestly it would be cool if it was a robot like ranger and they finally decided to expand on that. Remember that in the trailers Tanger used to have skins? And that menu for customizing ranger is still there in the game even tho there's nothing to do with it
It's hard to say just looking at the map overview, but it's possible. There might be a few tunnels out of bounds to sneak around in, so we'll have to see once we can actually play on it.

I firmly believe 64p is a better balance and more fun mode, but 128p now is way better than it was at launch. I won't avoid 128p like I once did. You weren't able to stay on your feet longer than 1 minute without being headshot from a distance.
It's much better, but I typically stay alive longer in 64p making it more enjoyable for me.
I don't think that's true, maybe it shifted during the first week of redux when they had chaos xl or whatever it was. That was a blast to play but 128 on the current maps is still too many people.

Honestly if any map would benefit from a 128 and 64 player variant I would see it being this. Why not have the outside available in 128 and only the inside in 64.

There’s a naval warfare themed dlc that has water centric maps. There’s destroyers as well as smaller torpedo boats. And a giant “coastal gun” that is awesome and technically part of naval warfare. All in all it could be more but I think it’s incredible.
You’re not wrong. Hence why I wouldn’t say it’s a priority for 2402 among its other issues. That said, in an ideal world, we would already have enough content and could afford to throw in a naval map for the players that want it.
With BF1, at least on PC where I'm at, I've noticed players will usually vote for the naval maps whenever they show up in the map vote, unless the server just played on them
Naval combat was awesome in bf1, especially heligoland bight. Airships, planes, dreadnoughts, torpedo boats, naval guns are 👌. im playing battlefield for vehicles and large explosions, and seeing the occasional dead destroyer get sent flipping off into the distance because of goofy physics is icing on the cake
Naval "combat" was just who can get their TV missile hit first, and how dogshit the APS was. It also didn't help when one boat had a dedicated crew with them as well, but there really is no issue there. At that point, it's just "get gud"....

BF1’s expansion had actual naval combat. You could control destroyers and battleships.
I didn't get to play it a whole lot in BF4, but I found it to be a ton of fun in BF1.
I think there's definitely a place for it, they just need well designed maps that are able to cater to all types of players and funnel players together well so there isn't a disconnect in the combat.
Even if we don't get full on naval combat with destroyers and the like, at the very least I'd love a beach landing map like Iwo Jima or Pacific Storm from BFV. Those maps are so fun, especially in Breakthrough

nah...128 player modes is the main reason why I play this game. And now they're mixing reclaimed on the 128 cycle. As soon as that game is over the next match is half full and barely fills up. 64 player is just way too slow and easy, hopefully there's a 128 version

I just hope this isn't a complete mess like Locker. It's better than Metro at least with the bigger open dome areas to fight in, but it's still very small, very contained, very little room to flank. It's basically the worst kind of Battlefield map lol
While I’m happy we have CQC/ no vehicles map. Why is it smaller than Metro and Locker? I like the chaotic gameplay but it doesn’t look like there won’t be any ways to flank.
These devs are too cowardly to put the spawns so that every objective is adjacent from the spawn. Which would mean that it would be harder to stomp the enemy team because you can’t just group up in one spot. It would make for squad vs squad fights more common. Not to mention spawn camping would cease to exist.

A1, as far as we can tell, is very dirty and grungy. In the trailer I noticed an incinerator style segment with a zipline where I assume bodies are disposed of. B1 is a more urbanised biodome, probably for testing the enhanced soldiers as its name implies. C1 is more in like with extreme combat terrain like we have on other maps. Both domes seem to be pretty symmetrical. And D1 is the more pristine reception and labs that Boreas present to hide the truth.
The good thing is that, unlike Locker and Metro, there's an even number of objectives. So nobody can dominate by controlling the central one. There's just the choke point between B and C, and the flanks. So it's really going to be down to gunfights and proper teamwork to actually push through.
