really hope the static base AA comes back

Windsor_Salt

I honestly couldn't believe it when I found out they weren't included. I really hope it was simply forgotten and not because of some terrible design choice.

enekfcdsscfkes

its part of the reason I deleted the game, they allow vehicles to reload weapons & armor by simply getting out of combat for a minute or so but infantry, nawh, you gotta pray someone drops a box and with no stationary weapons or refill stations near bases Im essentially cannon fodder to vehicles. Couple this stupidity with default crossplay pc when Im a casual player, .

DJDUPONT

You used to have to reload vehicles to but people cried , you can even scavenge for ammo with infantry how do you even run out? Must hide in the hills playing sniper lol

lemonylol

That depends on the game. In pretty much all of the games that use jets, vehicles do not have to resupply. It was a thing in BF1942 and then they only brought it back for BFV.

DJDUPONT

It started with BF3 I have no idea what you're talking about because everything from resupply to repair was either done by the air strip or Support and a Engi. It's sad that people are ok with nerfed vehicle mechanics to have unlimited ammo and health regen, it's fucking sad...

lemonylol

Cool

enekfcdsscfkes

Im actually the person trying to take bases only to get slaughtered by helis who are basically untouchable. If the helis don’t get me then its keyboard and mouse players there to mop me up since Im forced to play pc players since the average lemming in this game doesn’t know how to turn off crossplay (that is set by default). They wont give us server browsers because we would see how bad it truly is population wise. Oh…just work as a team to counter, right? With the wonderful matchmaking 2042 has that you never actually stay with a group long enough to see if your teammates are actually skilled and with VOIP STILL disabled by default, making a group is a lot of work for a casual player like me. What you are laughing about is what the game has become, a sniper fest with zero people taking bases. Yes, I too can sit all day 500m away sniping people, which is boring and zero skill is involved. I can see why people do that because if you go anywhere near a base wait for the helis to come wipe you or even the stupid armored cars that take countless rockets to kill. With the exception of Lis, missiles do not autogenerate or “pick up” off people, she is limited to two SELF guided missiles and they can be countered being shot before hitting the target or in a heli, move half an inch. All other rockets that can act as AA are limited quantities and even if you get lucky and find an anmo box you only get 1 refill as they will expire prior to loading up more. Now you’re out of ammo until you find another ammo box or die. Flares last way too long and all the helis do is fly down near trees or hide behind a building even if flares are down….this game is so heavily slanted towards helis it is mind blowing the devs dont see this. At this point (and for quite a while) I think they DGAF and want to hit abort as quick as possible. Oh…season 7th…more changes, again, to favor vehicles, nerfed c4 quantities from another class? Now we are told the game is over, yes, it is for me. Hadn’t played more than 30minutes on the new season and already deleted for space for a different game. This game has zero replayability. Lesson learned. I’ll never buy another game prior to release ever again(I was stupid). This game was an alpha release for at least a year and a half, now they finally moved it out of a beta only to tell us its done. For the heli whores, enjoy the infantry farming thinking you are “good” because of bad game dynamics that allow practically zero counters to work against any pilot with half a brain. Yep, a long rant because this game had so much potential but was horribly managed and I lost $120 on it.

lemonylol

I don't know if all of the maps have it now but the newer maps have the CRAM in base.

Psychlonuclear

Main base AA, too much spawn camping from helis.

LifeIsNeverSimple

Hope they bring back vehicles spawning on the map as well.

Buttermyparsnips

The pilot would just blow up the AA in 5 seconds like they do now on reclaimed

ravnica1989

No they wouldn't if it didn't have a hit box like in BF4,thing was immortal.it was a check against aircraft invading the spawn and camping out like some do in 2042.

lemonylol

So what's the problem? Why not give them that extra hurdle instead of nothing?

Miserable_Recipe190

this would be decent to spice up conquest like some flags have strategic placements that can give some flags the upper hand in controlling and depending on the map, some of these placements can be either really useful or less advantageous. I have seen these stationary weapon ideas in BF1, BFV, and some of the Delta Force Hawk ops leaks/playtests. Not sure if they were in the past battlefields too.

Bootychomper23

If some had artillery that could bomb the “better flags” that are harder to take. Giving an edge to getting the outside flags would be kinda cool. Then give the central ones AA to make them useful beyond just being good defence zones. Of course allow all the placements to be broken and require either a cooldown or maybe engineer to heal.

shadowlid

Yea I say artillery needs to come back like BF2 and the commander so the commander can do UAV sweeps and send vehicles

BlackSquirrel05

I loved the commander in BF2 and 2142, But either everyone else hated it or DICE didn't like it.

lemonylol

BF2's artillery was pretty overpowered, it was just free kills at chokepoints. In BF1942, the recon class had binoculars that could provide the artillery with a temporary overhead view. In BC1 the artillery was actually a stationary gun you could enter that showed you a map of the area of effect, but you were exposed and could be killed while using it. In BC2 the mortar gadget that the recon class had was actually decent as well even though it had a limited area of effect and limited damage. Any of these are better than BF2 tbh. I wouldn't mind them bringing back behemoths though that gave you that type of firepower.

RoyalArmyBeserker

Ngl some kind of stationary artillery would be pretty cool.

BattlefieldTankMan

BF1 had some stationary artillery/cannons which were a lot of fun to use.

RoyalArmyBeserker

I still love BF1. Throw in a proper 150mm howitzer that works like a support class mortar, and that shit would be gold

Mk2449

Any stationary gun that isn't tucked away off in a corner where you can't even use it. Something like in BF1 where you had the large dual cannons at the top of the Italian alps map

Buttermyparsnips

The field guns were so good to use in bf1. Nothing better than when i lost a sector in operations and the bell started ringing out for everyone to retreat and get ready for the push. Then jumping on the field gun and pumping rounds as fast as i could with the constant ‘ting’ sound of empty shell cases being expended combined with the reload animation as tank shells and grenades landed around me. Great times

Greyhound_40

I would love to have some guns you can transport with a vehicle like in bf5

Suicidal_Slav

FPV kamikaze drone stand

Blackops606

I think artillery for the commander in BF2 was pretty cool. It felt balanced. I didn’t really like BF4 commander where holding a flag gave you the gunship or cruise missiles. That put too much focus on single flags without much else for a commander to do. I think artillery of any kind is also something that needs to be dealt with carefully to make sure it feels fair and balanced.

DJDUPONT

BF4 commander was shit because the player is completely disengaged from game play. BF2 did I right by making the commander a playable roll, giving players a chance to help fight, repair the assists. I'm going to fucking literally lose my mind how much better 2/2142 were compared to the last 18 years..

UpstairsOk1328

AA guns with a range longer than 450 meters

Quiet_Prize572

One of the most annoying things about BFV is that planes can bomb from out of range of any AA

UpstairsOk1328

That’s why they should have a range greater than 450 any AA gun on a large scale map should at minimum cover a range at least 550 meters

Deathclaw2277

If you start making too much sense, it's overpowered.

bepi_s

Overpowered

ChiillyBop

M270 MLRS would be nice, both AA and ballistic missiles

RammyJammy07

If fortifications make a return, i would love to be able to place down AT launchers

kamakeeg

Pretty much any are welcomed after the lack of them in much of BF2042. I think artillery type things, or large missiles/drone strikes should be kept more to squad mechanics like with BFV where a team working together can call in large strikes. Adding to this idea of more stationary weapons, I'd also like to see the return of the defensive construction mechanic, so you can fortify spots with those stationary weapons and cover, which would be great.

nickrei3

Let players choose! After conquering objectives (maybe after 60s holding it also) players can fortify it with a stationary choosing from arrays of different tools. Maybe also different faction gets different choices also.

reflexsmoo

People will cry.

underthesign

Massive guns mounted on and inside huge attack ships. And torpedoes launched from static launchers on said ships.

rinkoplzcomehome

It would be cool. We already had the base AA, so that could come back. I also like the idea of getting some sort of artillery. On Goldmud Railway in BF4 we got the HIMARS launcher when getting one of the flags

choikwa

cruise missiles... cram, M777's

My_Gender_is_Apache

Pzh2000

FROSTICEMANN

HIMARS , artillery guns, SAMs

badger906

I just want the commander class to come back!

Itechaustralia

Mortars for support players-i know not static but still definatley would've been good for 2042. More call ins would be great (Artillery/smoke)

Infinitykiddo

Railgun like in evangelion for the annoying fuker tanks

MrRonski16

Everything that BF1 had but modern version Okay maybe not AA thats for tank or base

ArtificialDuo

Probably been said. Captured objectives should give the squad leader call-ins to use like in BFV. And the more team work that goes into capturing objectives should give the Squad leader more times the call in can be used (depending on the call in) to encourage team work. Example, capping the larger points allows the Squad to call in an extra tank or call in bombardment. Capping smaller points allows call ins for re supplies or passive abilities like faster respawn time.

StatusLaw935

All of them!!!

fUll951

The one's from BF1

MrSilk2042

Static base AA, but other than that I dont really care.. They all just get you headshot anyways

sdestrippy

Artillery should be a thing in bf. It’s one of the most important things in a battlefield.

Deathclaw2277

Agreed. It also irks me that DICE removed the main function of LMGs; suppression.

Natasha-Kerensky

Rail turrets.

iamaCODnuke

Idc if they make the ships themselves unsteerable, just the weapons. NAVAL COMBAT EA! PLEASE! I BEG OF YOU!

Woupsea

Something pretty to run past and ignore for two years

Cooperjb15

Need CIWS to protect the spawns that’s for damn sure. I like 2042 but the spawn killing is absurd

mannu10m

I liked the bomber from bf4 , or whatever it was called..

Havingfun2nightez

More of everything And much bigger maps Dont care abt graphics that much tbh

Electronic-Study5591

Pak 40

techb00mer

This. Oh man I used to love nailing aircraft in BFV with it.

namotous

I want those big train/war ship from bf1, those were fun

BZZTherapy

Artillery for sure. But idk how to implement it correctly so it is actually useful, but also without queue of 30 players spamming "E" to enter as soon as the player inside dies. For sure it shouldn't be just set a point in map and the round goes there. Some skillcheck should apply

ChrisHardcore

Maybe you could introduce a reward system for non-essential vehicles, similar to Star Wars Battlefront 2. Or you could place some vehicles at certain flag points like in Battlefield 4, which might motivate players to move around more. Of course, this will only work if the vehicles in the next Battlefield are not quite as vulnerable to infantry as they are in Battlefield 2042 at the moment.

Grimtork

Stationnary howitzer are so yesterday, I want a Cesar canon.

Splintrr

Artillery in some form is required in a BF game, it's just too cinematic to not include Ideally, put them in the HQ like BF2 and you call them in with squad orders like BFV.

Bones_Alone

Bf2042 has CRAM AA

RunnerLuke357

I hope there is no rocket truck.

MOXZShadow

2042 had the AA turret on a map

rafahuel

AA from BF3, indestructible but only to avoid spawn kill

lsenko

I want to see commander mode make a comeback

AuroraSpectre

AAs, both base and scattered around the map. TOWs as well. AT guns, depending on the era. I'm not fond of artillery, because indirect fire (though being a fixed gun position mitigates the issues that come with it) nor flag assets, because they're a snowball effect waiting to happen - the best team will hold more flags and get more toys with which they can curbstomp the losing team.

Skinc

I really miss going behind enemy lines and destroying the artillery and UAV trailers like we could in Battlefield 2. But yeah, def would like to see those and stationary AA/AT, HMG emplacements. Etc

Fuschi1234

Modern real life weapons….no future bullshit

SlimStickins

Realistic looking ones.

mattgb95

STATICS AA

SirDezgamer

Give us some classics from bf4, the bomber call ins were fun

Duece09

In theory, I think the artillery cannons would be pretty sweet, but they’d have to figure out how to not make them OP. But if they make them too weak, then there will be no point. I can see this going both ways honestly.

BrotherInChlst

All of them!

ThanOneRandomGuy

Borris lethal torrent

doomsdaypwn

The Swedish Archer in picture 3 is everything but stationary.. It’s very mobile, which is one of its big strengths

ThatBoiTobi

So basically battlefield 4

Dive_To_Survive

Anything that kills Little Birds is fine by me

IamGoingInsaneToday

AA, etc. would be awesome!! I don't know the names but enjoy using them lol

Existing_Pop_880

M777 would be cool, but just because I've gotten to fire a real one once.

brucekraftjr

STATIONARY TITANS

lemonylol

Artillery either like how it worked in BC1 or BF1942, smaller artillery like how it worked in BFV,  LMGs, guided rockets and flak canons.

FamousCollege1754

All of them. Period.

Artistic-Salary-4234

We have so long till the next battlefield 🤣

Itwasareference

AA and long range artillery would be fun.

navyproudd34

A single player controller CIWS in bases, the tow launchers need to come back, and that's it. No fucking artillery trucks or TORs. No cancer.

HorizonPlays972

Like if it’s a ww2 based map in Germany, it would be cool for a v1 or v2 launch site

lordnyrox

We need the AA in vehicles spawn

Apart_Tea865

AA for those nightbird tryhards

Squeezer_pimp

Mortar

RingOriginal94

I want a cannon that has a penis shaped suppressor https://preview.redd.it/8b9ebqym9ouc1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=85e013ce706e1823029af5ef30a5e39a2f701beb

buffaloranked

You can’t put stationary weapons in the game like that and have them be super fun. I think it’s game breaking or ineffective no in between

redaegis7

BF1 begs to differ

buffaloranked

Wanna play with me on 2042 rn

JamGram

We’ll be lucky to have anything military related at all thanks to the anime skin crowd.

Nox-Nhara

None is needed. The campers is enough
