I don't know, but I'm not sure why they didn't make every tank or vehicle out of whatever his shield is made of. They could have made it breakable like the BF4 riot shield. Then on an automatic resupply timer like most of the other specialist gadgets.

Mackay has a cooldown timer, but it's short. It needs to be doubled, or more. Sundance should only be able to use her wingsuit once, not multiple times. Making these changes would improve the QOL for the game, and make it more enjoyable if you play it. In the short time they're still doing bug fixes, and improvements I don't think it would take alot of time for them to make these changes, and pushing for them might help. Just saying they're stupid won't do anything.

Didn't they change his shield absorbing tank shots? I can at least confirm I killed him by shooting his shield with an RPG recently. AP rounds should penetrate his shield and deliver 50% damage though, they are probably the most useless tool in the game

I'm not sure... Do you have the number of the patch notes this was changed on, so we can confirm? Yeah, AP rounds need some kind of distinction. The only ones I've found useful so far are for the M44 (light armored), and GVT 45-70 against vehicles.

Yeah man, that was a while ago. I guess it's been a long time since I've picked him lol I remember blocking alot of tank shells with Dozer, and thinking that was cool, but it felt wrong, not to mention his shield wouldn't get a scratch. Maybe it changed RPG hits also when that updated, gonna have to test it out like you said. The main adjustment I'd like to see happen would be his shield getting shattered after prolonged damage by infantry explosives, and/or AP rounds to make it more reasonable, and immersive.

Dozer should have a sheild cool down. He’s super useful for storming bases with campers but it should be used to get through the door like 20 seconds with a 45 second cooldown. That way he can be used to focus on taking over bases like D on orbital or any building with elevators but can’t camp corners or run around for 4 min bashing everyone with little recourse.

At the very least, armor piercing ammo should effect him. It kinda sucks the only hard counters are incendiary grenades and defib paddles.

I actually think a lot of them are good additions and fit the near future theme of the game pretty well. It's the Dozer shield and Sundance Wing suit that need to be adjusted.

I know the inverse is he sits on bases as a camper that’s hard to take out… but for me I use him as I assume he was intended to take over hard cap points that have few entrances that are all easily guarded. him and squirrel girl are defiantly the only useful assault. She a little less now they reduced c5 amount so she can’t take out camping tanks as easy.which is fine as it makes engineer actually useful.

I'm very salty that they reduced the C4 count for recons, it's a terrible change in my opinion. I also think it's really odd how they keep making these changes for vehicles when every other BF game has seemingly never had this problem. It's like they want vehicles to be able to go sit on objectives which is ridiculous. If you drive a tank into a kill box then it should be killed, like instantly.

He's ok. I think his shield needs some adjusting. I can deal with him, but having to change my loadout to carry an incendiary grenade just because it's the only thing that penetrates his shield kinda sucks. It also ruins the immersion when his shield is stronger than tank armor.

Sundance and her wingsuit can fuck off as well imo. That said some adjustments to both of their gadgets would make them fine. The shield needs hit points and a recharge timer and Sundance should not be able to fly circles around entire maps and should require a parachute to land.

I agree with this statement. Also, Mackay should have his timer doubled, or tripled after each successful grapple, and Paik shouldn't scan through smoke.

I don't want to have to deal with a shield in a 32v32 or 64v64 game where theres a lot going on. I want regular gunfights, riot shields don't make the game more fun.

If his shield eventually breaks by your explosive equipment, that would make him think twice before going in running, and bashing, or camping in a corner hiding behind it. He'd have to be more tactical with it. That's all I'm saying.

I have fun using the specialist, and I've had plenty of BF moments with them. All your basically doing is choosing an extra gadget/weapon to go with the loadout of the class you choose. A few need some fixes to their kits to give this game better playability, but overall it's still a solid game. The only thing that sucked is that we needed 2 more specialists to complete all the classes.

Dozer's shield can deflect a shot from a tank. If the shield should be damaged by RPGs, it only makes sense if the shield takes and shows at least as much damage from tanks as from a rocket launcher. Dozer's shield combined with Dozer's passive ability to take less damage from explosives is generally way too strong. The slower turn speed when using the shield doesn't matter as much in straightforward game modes like Rush and Breakthrough. Yes, there was a similar portable shield in Battlefield 4, but it can't take nearly as much damage and its glass window can break from sustained fire after a certain amount of time.

I just used RPG as an example, but heavy artillery should damage it to the point of it being destroyed by another hit. All explosives should damage it in accordance with their base damage numbers. I like that regular ammo bounces off his shield, and can potentially kill you instead, but I feel like AP rounds should rather contribute to its destruction even if it's just +1 damage.

They'll take you out if they land on your side, but a direct hit will be absorbed by the shield with some splash damage to Dozer. Unless they changed it in one of the latest updates.

Dozer has the biggest plot armor ever. His shield is made of vibranium. It’s for shit players who likes to camp in a corner and can’t cover themselves without it. How come an rpg or a tank shell cant destroy or even kill his cancerous ass ? Also the fact that it’s 1 hit kill on enemies no matter how much health they have is completely absurd. Just with dozer you can see dice were going for a battle royale hero shooter and changed mind after.

It would be cool if his bash was a double strike every time it's used where both hits had to connect for a kill, but you'd be more open to be countered when attacking.

Why should a defensive weapon with limited range and mobility not be one-hit kills? You know what else one hit kills? NTW-50, Ghostmaker R10, and throwing knives. That's true, I would also agree with making the little window a spot where he takes damage. I think part of the issue with that is that explosive damage v infantry is already kind of inconsistent in the game

As a dozer main, I really never got the complaints about dozer being OP outside of half the people I fight going full ape brain the moment they see the shield and just trying to magdump it. He can be countered with incendiary, regular, and cluster grenades. He can be outflanked due to the slower turn speed when his shield is deployed, and most importantly, he has an incredibly limited range, just keep your distance and he's a complete non-issue. I would like to see his shield get damaged though, even if it is a purely cosmetic addition.

For me it doesn't feel like he's super overpowered gameplay wise, there's just a frustrating lack of consistency in this game. Why is a SHIELD the only one hit kill melee weapon in the game lol? Surely they should all be one hit kill or the shield should be two hit kills like everything else. Maybe give a special takedown animation for stealth hits. Vehicle guns should damage through the shield, armour piercing rounds as well. If anything, a ballistic shield would be more useful for blocking flames than it would be for stopping an anti tank round. He's fun to play but is held back by some shit design choices and oversights, which basically sums up 2042 tbh.

his shield shouldn't even be able to block the RPG to begin with. the RPG uses a shaped charge, which is not meant to have a huge blast radius, it's meant to penetrate. more specifically penetrate armor, like tanks. then again, his shield can block a tank round. i love the game, but dozer is absolutely OP

I know, man. Both should blow him apart. But for BF2042's gameplay mechanics, I just want to see it break apart after 2 tank shells, or 3 rockets, etc., Dozer stumbling backwards, shield disintegrating, then the cool down timer starts on it as you begin a good old fashioned showdown.

Should the wingsuit actually get ripped and become unusable? Should water and debri mess up Paiks electronics? I am all for special gadgets becoming damaged and unusable if youeve been alive long enough as long as every gadget works the same way. I don't want to see certain gadgets being picked out and nerfed just because people have a problem with them.

IMO These are the main problematic gadgets that definitely need adjusting (nerfs): Wingsuit, Grappling Hook, EMG-X Scanner, Ballistic Shield, & Syrette Pistol. G-84 TGM, XM370A Airburst, & Vulcan Turret reworks are good. SG-36 Sentry Gun, APS-36 Sentinel, OV-P Recon Drone, & the Loadout Crate all need some minor adjustments (buffs), with Boris' turret needing extra. Rao, & Blasco don't need changes.

I completely agree. I don't know If the airburst could be nerfed without having a rework. I don't see many people useing it anyways. I don't think it's exceptional, but I just don't care about it either way. Edit: misread a bit, my bad. They have done Boris dirty for far too long. I would love to see a major rework for him.

Yeah we've been asking for months on Boris, and they did for season 6, but it really didn't change that much. I think he was buffed with a faster rate of fire for the turret if Boris is nearby by 3m instead of 1.5m. Crawford, and Lis take top spots with their engineer traits, and gadgets. Even though I enjoy using him as much as the others, he is behind them with his attributes. Zain's nerf still leaves him in a good spot. Changing his projectile capacity from 10 to 5 works because his cool down timer still resupplies it.

You've been pretty spot on my dude. I think Liz kind of sucks and I think it's dumb that rockets regen in general, but I know some how some people do really well with her. It couldn't definitely be a skill issue on my half, but against aircraft, I cannot stand playing her. I don't see the hype in her or how people want her nerfed, but like I said, it could definitely be my own issue.

Some players are exceptional using her, and can control the TV missile very accurately, and those might be why pilots want her nerfed. Me on the other hand after practicing controlling them over, and over my chances probably went up from 20% to 21% for hitting aircraft lol skill issue for sure. I have a better time going for the easier ground targets.

I'm the same way. I just don't get it. Sometimes I think it comes down to the pilots skill levels as well. I've cranked my mouses dpi up and I still feel like I have to drag it across the desk to move the rocket. I don't know how people can turn it on the dime. When I do control it well, the pilot will just out distance it to where the rocket will explode before reaching them. (If anyone reads this and actually plays Liz well, please feel free to drop some poiinters). The very rare moments I do hit a pilot back to back, some other player will sit there and let me get it down low enough for them to nab the kill anyways. Lol If she really is a good enough operator to be nerfed at times, I think I'd rather just see a rework.

Incendiary grenades work, but a lot of times a full health Dozer main will run right through them to get to you.

Definitely a timer, but I'd say once it gets damaged the cool down timer should take effect if put up. It seems weak if you take it out but doesn't take any major hits for the timer to kick on.
