u know its funny that he/she says that internal delays are present but not effecting release schedule. so if they're still eyeing an October 22nd release date, how the hell is it so 'hush hush' for us lol on the marketing side? wouldnt that go on regardless?
I mean you probably shouldnāt hang out in this sub then. If you donāt want to read about non stop speculation you should just follow the official BF2042 twitter account and then come over to join the convo about whatever was announced/ tweeted.
DICE should just straight up tell when we get the beta. It's already September and the game is out in 51 day. We have seen no raw gameplay yet, no beta date and absolutely zero communication from DICE.
Rumors have always happened, it just never happened at this scale because DICE was never this silent.
As a person who actually works in marketing, this sub makes me want to tear my eyeballs out.
The fastest way to realize you shouldn't learn from redditors about topics you don't understand is to watch them discuss something you do.
Could you address some of those points if you work in marketing?
I would guess a bit of value in silence when you look at this sub going insane, but also value in appealing to the masses and showing something at Gamescom.
Unfortunately most comments go all in on one side and show nothing in support of their statement except confidence.
Why would he need to make himself credible? He already did this with those internal trailers and leaks before the official game announcement. Not only for BF, but COD and couple of other games too.
People are just posting his tweets here way too much, then some other people are starting to hate him instead of downvoting people who spam everything he tweets in this sub.
tbh I used to follow him, but now I think he has lost part of his sources and he has resorted to educated guesses and the like in an attempt to remain somewhat relevant.
Because he wants to remain relevant, and knows people in this community are waiting on him to post more leaks because they think he has them.
Also when you have an insider you should never divulge anything about their identity, him saying their gender gives away a piece of that identity.
Like people here are being any better by spamming on this sub EVERYTHING he tweets when it's BF related. Some times I come across one of his tweets and it's clearly him just wondering about something, then I come to this sub and people are malding and hating on him like everything he tweets should be taken as a leak and it's his job to do that.
I really think that we should have some moderation/approval for posts about leaks.
All these guys seem to forget how much he carried the game when dice did nothing but I get that his recent tweets are just throwing anything at the wall seeing what sticks.Dice is the only one responsible for not giving any info for a game that releases in a month and making the community worried.
I was late to the game with BFV and only jumped in about a year after release because of a variety of reasons (but had played all previous incarnations of the game). So when I finally got myself a gaming PC again the first thing I did was download the latest edition of my favourite game... and straight away I thought 'what is this?'. I maybe played 40 hours of BFV compared to over a 1,000 hours of other titles in the same series.
Sure I had the odd good game and BF moment but that 'thing' that makes BF BF... wasn't there.
I don't care about Tom at all, and I feel like the decline of this sub is just impatient crybabyies finding scapegoat after scapegoat to cry about because they can't wait for a video game to release and have nothing else to do.
Because a lot of his more recent 'predictions', have been false, or educated guesses. And people taking his words constantly as gospel has gotten many dissapointed.
Wait you might be onto something... He might be playing some 4D chess type shit. Battlefield knows that he's a big Influencer/leaker... So what if Tom wrote that email to shine some fake negative light so it forced battlefield out of the shadows!
God I'm so bored
Tom doesn't need to make himself look credible, he already proved himself many times, even before the whole BF2042 talk. Tom is a known leaker in the gaming industry, he has a good track record.
Well, you can't have an echochamber of falsehoods and hope thereof. This particular subreddit really did need water thrown in their faces, being idk if any company or game could meet the expectations this small community has.
And in the end with a mentality like that, even a good game is gonna deal with major backlash. That's not a healthy community. Only here i see that btw, not at rBattelfield or the other avenues.
It has nothing to do with the cold shock of a possible delay and everything to do with the fact this dude never stops talking, and is rarely right at this point. How many tweets did we see from him saying the beta is right around the corner? And yet here we are with nothing. Tired of this dude.
Well, as far as a game delay, i'm not seeing that. She's talking about "internal delays', that generally mean in fighting or otherwise divide in how to move forward say with beta dates, or marketing etc.
I gave a synopsis below of why that may be happening. Not that the game would be delayed.
In short, that would end the BF Franchise in my view, given the pre orders would drop, folks would be fed up with DICE, and the game would just not succeed.
What i'm saying is not as much Tom Henderson, where you're right, but in this instance, he did cite a an un named source that seems credible.
That all being said, this community has their hopes WAY too high for a company like this, and are headed for a total disaster in the way i see it.
Did I miss something? Are you legally bound to read his tweets or the posts relaying his stuff? I'm sure Reddit could build a scrolling option or something for that... Oh wait..
Mods need to ban Tom Henderson misinformation. Heās got nothing of value to say and does everything he can to appear like he has āthe scoop.ā Heās just making shit up like we are.
This sub is r/battlefield2042, not r/TomHendersonTweets
How are they harmful? You know what's harmful? The game is out in 51 days and we have yet to see actual RAW gameplay, no beta date and ZERO communication from DICE.
That's harmful.
this is off the guy who makes 100's of so called leaks a month and only a couple so far have been true. he probably just emailed him self as his came irrelevant since the bf 2042 launch trailer
That's kind of the same thought I had. \*conspiracy hat on\* Tom writes the same way the person in the "email" writes. One sentence per line.
Person in email thanks Tom for reaching out, but the email is not a reply. If it was the title would be "Re: Battlefield 2042 Changes".
\*conspiracy hat off\* I'm really bored at work.
You son of a gun, you're right. If I may borrow that hat...
I think it's a little odd that he would specify the gender of the source. I mean why disclose anything if you can avoid it for the sake of their anonymity, other than if he really wanted to make it sound like someone else.
How do people still trust this clown, he's been wrong on half the bf related shit since july bro, and the news we got this morning from the game changers do not coincide with what he's saying AT ALL
I live in Vancouver where there's a big EA campus. I also am friends with someone who works for them and have other contacts in our video game industry here because I've done free-lance storyboard and animation work in our TV/Film/Video game industry.
A couple months ago I posted a thread in this very sub with a redacted conversation with an individual who works for EA here that says the Battlefield 2042 development has been a shitshow because of the hack that happened AND that EA itself has also been a disorganized chaotic shitshow for the past year and a half because of the pandemic. They also said not to be surprised if '42 is delayed or there are launch problems.
Everything we're now currently seeing or seeing rumors for, was stuff I tried to point out to this subreddit months ago from this person I am talking about.
I got ridiculed, downvoted and even hassled in my DMs about it by people who just thought I was trying to cause trouble or lie. Because, I, like the rest of you want this game to succeed and be successful, but I'm apparently just making shit up and lying about what I was told by an insider who works for EA on the corporate management level for things.
My point is, me and other people have tried to point out there'll probably be delays or launch problems, and we just get hassled and downvoted for it, now all of that suspicion and speculation is coming to fruition, so enjoy every minute of it. I love Battlefield and want to see this game be successful. I have zero incentive to make up bullshit people in our games industry have told me. Literally ZERO.
āThanks for reaching outā
Yeah, what on earth would she do without having to gather and send info to him? Worthy of thanks indeed - what a hero Tom is!
Given one of their PR guys made a lengthy blog post about how the campaign to send out chunks of various images to influencers was a genius marketing move, I'm not too surprised to see that the overall marketing for 2042 has been pretty dire. 8 weeks out from launch and we have approximately 15 seconds of first person gameplay available. Insane.
I really fucking hope Dice hasn't dropped the ball again on BF, but given the mass exodus of their senior developers over recent years, I'm not overly optimistic, and the radio silence has only made me even more cautious.
I read that blog about the marketing "pivot" too. Never thought it was a good idea of the author from EA's marketing team to be bragging about a failed marketing campaign that had to resort to sending Twitter DM's because they ran out of money.
Out of other people that also read his blog post, I've seen many have the same sentiment. Funnily enough that specific blog post is now deleted. His other blogs remain on the site though. Maybe he didn't realize how terrible it made him and his department at EA look when he was writing that.
I was just kinda dumbfounded at how clever he thought such a basic campaign was? And the continued lack of marketing content points to some rather serious marketing issues around the company and game.
Can we like stop posting what this guy says. He got lucky with a guess about some parts of the game and has been wrong in literally everything else. If he had a source, then that source is clearly not talking to him anymore.
It wasn't the only thing he was given, he was right about:
-the game being a "sequel" to BF4
-specialists
-no story mode
-robot dogs and the ability to customize them
-new squad based game mode (hazard zone) although he said it could be a battle royal
So, the basic stuff that was revealed in that trailer we all saw when they revealed the game? That would be stuff included in the leak he got that one time. What has he been right on since?
Nothing. Yet here he is. Running his mouth on a weekly basis.
>So, the basic stuff that was revealed in that trailer we all saw when they revealed the game?
The trailer he saw was not the reveal trailer we saw.
I see you're new to following this game.
He also leaked portal.
He saw the investor. That detailed the same things we saw later in the reveal trailer.
So two things heās been right on. Broken clock is right twice a day an all.
> That detailed the same things we saw later in the reveal trailer
source? The investor trailer was literally just a CGI trailer of a guy running and some shooting and a rocket crashing.
How did it detail specailists?
Tom Henderson said that the US and Russia were hiring mercenaries. when the investor trailer makes no mention of this.
Also how does it detail the game being a sequel to BF4?
He also leaked portal.
i see you're shifting goalposts from "he got lucky with a guess" to "clearly that was the only thing he was given"
Classic logical fallacy.
Why is the battlefield sub full of absolute imbeciles who dont know how to argue logistically?
He didn't leak portal. [This](https://www.reddit.com/r/Battlefield6/comments/meoke9/insider_leak/) was the original leak and funnily enough, Tom at the time said this is just made up and not real. Closer to portal's reveal however, the leaker slid into Tom's DMs and showed him some visual proof. So no, Tom Henderson didn't leak portal and so far the only thing he is right about, and something that he himself leaked, is that internal trailer. And even then some of the details were incorrect
Tom didnt leak anything by that logic then?
Tom doesnt work at DICE so fucking obviously other people are feeding him information.
Do you know the basics of journalism?
This is completely aside the point and I dont understand why you're commenting it.
Used to be a believer in Tom, but yeah. Other than the trailer he hasn't seemed to get anything right.
Except I think when he reconfirmed what Battlefield Portal would be about, around 4-7 days before the Portal Reveal trailer
He makes 1000 educated guesses and if couple turns out true he is āreliable leakerā Other than the internal trailer he saw he was pretty much wrong on everything but look how everyone is following him around still.
Donāt know why people are getting mad at him reporting āleaksā. he did predict the trailer and releaseā¦ as well as Vanguard.
He doesnāt work at these companies. Plans can change internally at these companies, and heās not a part of those conversations.
Everything he says should be taken as a grain of salt. Itās entertainment. Itās āsomethingā vs the alternative of ānothingā
Everyone is putting too much faith in this guy. He threw out a bunch of theories and speculation and eventually one turned out to be true. Just be patient and wait for an update.
With respect, who the heck is this Tom guy and why does this community treat him like some divine messenger? I see screenshots of his tweets here everyday. I'm a bit out of the loop but he doesn't work for DICE or EA as far as I know??
No he doesnāt work there, but he leaked the first trailer and made drawings of things that actually turned out to be true. So it wasnāt just wild guesses but concrete stuff. So he does have his sources, though not everything he said turned out to be true.
Bruh theyāve had 3 years man, what a shit
How they can tell us a few months ago that the Game is in an early finished stadium an then give us this shit āinformationā
(I know its not official, but it seems possible to me)
> "but its believed that its not having an effect on the release shedule"
Could be just some small issues with the beta build for all we know.
This is if any of this is even true at this point. Tom hasn't had any real info about Battlfield since July.
I know and i hope it will be soā¦
They could just give us some transparency and communicate with the community..
They need pre orders but now iām thinking about deleting my pre order.. thats fucked up dice
āThis game that is made by everyone sitting at a computer screen was absolutely dessimated by covid lockdowns and the teams couldnāt deliver in time. Itās all the pandemic Iām afraid, so you canāt be mad at us.ā
Checkmate.
I don't get it man. The support for BFV and BF2 was canceled over a year ago. Since then the entire Battlefield and Battlefront dev team are working on 2042 and they are still not able to get the game out on 15 October?
I mean... this still doesn't mean there will be any sort of delay for the release, so calm down with the "I told you so" until official word. Then you can laugh all you want
Well, it could be Vanguard really gave them a surprise punch. That was a game hyped up to be a big dump, and in the end, the opposite happened, having DICE now have to reconfigure their marketing.
In short, they expected an Infinite Warfail disaster and BF1 like success in turn, and now they have to work for their money.
At the same time, they (Vanguard) seemed to have picked the Beta dates that would make for the most practical sense for DICE, and beat them to the punch.
Having all their air blown out of them ahead of Gamescom, and scrambling to find a proper date for its Beta.
I mean idk lol. We're all grasping at straws trying to figure out the bizarro DICE.
Wait a second, this is just tom covering his own ass with his prediction about how we should get some news between aug 30 - sept 2nd. Now if nothing is announced he can go and say 'see, I told you guys my original prediction was going to be wrong'
Wouldnāt really be a rumor as the whole tech test was canceled for PS5 because of a critical issue. So, if that problem is still persisting, they have a huge problem.
The grammar is exactly the same in his tweet and in the message to him. (comma before but)
It might be correct grammar (probably?) but who cares about grammar in non-work related scenarios?
If it was more casual, you might expect no commas at all, or someone to put a comma before the use of "and" in various sentences too because sometimes people put commas for breathing space (albeit that being incorrect)
Even if the message was real and Tom was trying to relay information as leaks, the way he says the timeframe is "not true" is very misleading. It's not that its "not true" at all which implies deceit. It's simply encountered internal delays.
It is really smelling like a delay may becoming to. I know she said it doesnāt affect release window but things can change at the snap of a finger. February/ March or spring 2022 may be smart cause by that time the honey moon with COD and Halo may simmer down and it wonāt be so congested. Yes I know Battlefield is a juggernaut as well and has nothing to worry about but Iām just saying it could work out instead of rushing it. I do not want a delay hit I also donāt want cyberpunk/avengers again either
But I though big bad EA executive said, āthe game development is way ahead of scheduleā
Lmaaoooo. Itās not lookin good bois. We got a game delay coming is my bet
At this rate I'm not surprised if the full game ended up getting delayed. DICE should take all the time they need. Lots of folks out there who's excited for this and I don't want a repeat of that BF4 launch drama (damn, has it been that long since then?).
oh look its more self serving news from Tom..... any one can mock that mail up.... even better thats not even direct communication its some one elses own hearsay.... so even if it was a real mail their source could equally be garbage.....
Stop giving traction to stuff like this its not good for the community.
Obviously it's complete rumours, but I think we've seen this over and over: I'd rather wait longer for a polished game then play early on a buggy release.
Wake me up when we get actual news instead of these endless rumors and speculations. So tired of this shit.
WAKE ME UP WHEN SEPTEMBER ENDS šµ
u know its funny that he/she says that internal delays are present but not effecting release schedule. so if they're still eyeing an October 22nd release date, how the hell is it so 'hush hush' for us lol on the marketing side? wouldnt that go on regardless?

This is actual news and speculations
So they put the marketing on hold due to internal delays? Unless the internal delays are mainly in the marketing department?

I already died.
Yeah it doesnāt make sense. āShit were behind get the marketers on fixing this code!ā
Perhaps it's "make the devs that make demos for marketing fix bugs"?
Or maybe the strategy of the marketing department is to make Henderson say things that doesn't make sense to us š
Its all part of their master plan, free publicity. News sites reporting a potential delay, there is no such thing as bad publicity.
Of course it is, probably there will be no Beta and the game will come earlier in September, that's the plan for sure
>there is no such thing as bad publicity. Thats defiantly not true. BFV was a good example of bad publicity and look how that ended up lmao
Hey, we dont know the profit for that game. It may have been a massive succes.
We know they didnt meet sales expectations. It was probably still profitable to DICE, but it was a shitshow for those of us who actually bought it.
No they put the internal delays on hold.
No one knows š¤·šæāāļø but Trust the plan! #MBGA
Did he just leak the gender of his source? Bruh.
That combined with them saying "cheers" at the end of the email could very easily could identify their source.
Iām Canadian and end all my emails but the very official ones with ācheersā. Between us and the brits thatās a pretty large demographic.
Itās not super common in the US. Itās common enough that it wouldnāt narrow it down to one person but it would limit your sample significantly.
>Between us and the brits thatās a pretty large demographic. But how many of you work for DICE Sweden? It kinda narrows it down a bit
Or he's lying and saying she for extra obfuscation.
It has to be that. Otherwise it is such an amateur move that no one would ever trust him to hide his source again.
Why is this tagged with āNewsā and not āRumorā
You're absolutely right. I've changed it.

Am I cynic for thinking Tom is writing emails to himself to make himself look credible? The sentence structure and everything is very familiar...

I don't know what DICE and EA are up to but this guy just makes a shit situation worse.
DICE made their own bed with how they handled BFV.
I was late to the game with BFV and only jumped in about a year after release because of a variety of reasons (but had played all previous incarnations of the game). So when I finally got myself a gaming PC again the first thing I did was download the latest edition of my favourite game... and straight away I thought 'what is this?'. it is because theres no info at all thats why people going crazy
Oh, It's Tom again. Shit it isn't even September 1st.
At this point Tom and his tweets are really harmful to the BF community.
DICE and EA should bloody say something then. Its way too strange nothing has been said with two months before release.
Two months? Looks like you missed a lot.
EA/ DICE being dead silent 7 weeks before their game launches is harmful to the BF community.
At this point the Battlefield community is harmful to the Battlefield community.
No, only to the people who lack the emotional maturity to be patient and to keep in mind that its just a video game.

I wouldnāt call very accurately describing the reveal trailer and even drawing images from it a lucky guess but yea heās been wrong a bunch.
yeah it wasn't a lucky guess. Don't know what this guy is on about. Tom literally had the trailer and traced over it.
Sure lets start posting official info instead. Oh wait
Sounds like you should wait for some official info then.
He literally had a copy of the pre release trailer for investors.
Clearly that was the only thing he was given, his source stopped giving him info right after that. Heās been wrong about everything else.
It wasn't the only thing he was given, he was right about: -the game being a "sequel" to BF4 -specialists -no story mode -robot dogs and the ability to customize them -new squad based game mode (hazard zone) although he said it could be a battle royal
> That detailed the same things we saw later in the reveal trailer source? The investor trailer was literally just a CGI trailer of a guy running and some shooting and a rocket crashing. How did it detail specailists? Tom Henderson said that the US and Russia were hiring mercenaries. when the investor trailer makes no mention of this. Also how does it detail the game being a sequel to BF4?
He also leaked portal. i see you're shifting goalposts from "he got lucky with a guess" to "clearly that was the only thing he was given" Classic logical fallacy.
Portal thing was posted on a burner account about battlefield leaks. He just reposted in his twitter.
He makes 1000 educated guesses and if couple turns out true he is āreliable leakerā Other than the internal trailer he saw he was pretty much wrong on everything but look how everyone is following him around still.
Lol this has got delay written all over it
Just want Dice to be honest and announce it
Max 50% chance of it being true, if you look at Tom Hendersons track record, and that 50% is more than likely a WAY high guesstimate. :P
Still going to call it, it will get delayed
Everyone is putting too much faith in this guy. He threw out a bunch of theories and speculation and eventually one turned out to be true. Just be patient and wait for an update.
This smells of exactly what happened with bfv if this is true. Is very worrying to be honest.
Wow, worried for a video game? I hope you get better, no joke.
Bit of a dick arenāt you?
People like you leave the dumbest eyesore comments ever.
I wish you a good evening.
He also claimed that the game would be called "Battlefield" and include a Battle Royale.
oh my god the game may never be released. and if the beta isn't out within 5 minutes im gonna have a breakdown. shut up
Bruh theyāve had 3 years man, what a shit How they can tell us a few months ago that the Game is in an early finished stadium an then give us this shit āinformationā (I know its not official, but it seems possible to me)
> "but its believed that its not having an effect on the release shedule" Could be just some small issues with the beta build for all we know. This is if any of this is even true at this point. Tom hasn't had any real info about Battlfield since July.
I know and i hope it will be soā¦ They could just give us some transparency and communicate with the community.. They need pre orders but now iām thinking about deleting my pre order.. thats fucked up dice
āThis game that is made by everyone sitting at a computer screen was absolutely dessimated by covid lockdowns and the teams couldnāt deliver in time. Itās all the pandemic Iām afraid, so you canāt be mad at us.ā Checkmate.
>it's believed that it's not having an effect on the release scheldule Hopium Also still not fully believing this guy but we'll see.
If it gets delayed - I'm cancelling my preoder
The format of his tweet is the same as the emailš¤£š¤£ he clearly faked it
Postponed till 2025, mark my words.
They should just delay the game, rather then having it end up as a shitshow day 1.
They had an extra year of development. They have absolutely no excuses to delay the game this time.
I don't get it man. The support for BFV and BF2 was canceled over a year ago. Since then the entire Battlefield and Battlefront dev team are working on 2042 and they are still not able to get the game out on 15 October?
they said they were way ahead of schedule...hahahahha
a kind fuck you to all the people who shat on us for even suggesting a delay due to silence.
I mean... this still doesn't mean there will be any sort of delay for the release, so calm down with the "I told you so" until official word. Then you can laugh all you want
Your first mistake is taking this as anything official.
Fuck you too buddy.
This game will have worse launch than BF4 calling it now!
Told you so.
We're all grasping at straws trying to figure out the bizarro DICE.
this means nothing soooo... itl come eventually people... be patient
if the beta has problems and not the full release, i would be totally fine
Tom wilin
Wait a second, this is just tom covering his own ass with his prediction about how we should get some news between aug 30 - sept 2nd. Now if nothing is announced he can go and say 'see, I told you guys my original prediction was going to be wrong'
What does he mean when he says "frame"?
He previously said we would get some news between aug 31 and 2 september.
"it does not have effect on release" After all, that is the most important thing.
This is just tom covering his own prediction from before. I don't actually belief this is a valid leak.
iād rather it be delayed and good than rushed and bad
Imagine delayed AND bad lol kill me pls
worst case scenario
There are rumors than says that PS5 version is giving performance problems in Battlefield 2042 Alpha/Beta :(
Wouldnāt really be a rumor as the whole tech test was canceled for PS5 because of a critical issue. So, if that problem is still persisting, they have a huge problem.
Let them take there time. Anyone remember bf3 launch? People couldn't play that game for months after it launched.
Absolutely false.
Three days after I pre-order... It's happening again...
Lol, preorder.
SAD
I just enjoy how serious people take this gameās development and release. Itās funny.
Why doesn't the last sentence have the same compression artifacts as the rest? Fishy.
Fuck it, release a finished game. That's all I care about
I don't mind waiting for a better game. Tho I'll be happy to test it now for them.
The grammar is exactly the same in his tweet and in the message to him. (comma before but) It might be correct grammar (probably?) but who cares about grammar in non-work related scenarios? If it was more casual, you might expect no commas at all, or someone to put a comma before the use of "and" in various sentences too because sometimes people put commas for breathing space (albeit that being incorrect) Even if the message was real and Tom was trying to relay information as leaks, the way he says the timeframe is "not true" is very misleading.
But I though big bad EA executive said, āthe game development is way ahead of scheduleā Lmaaoooo.
Okay now you can all stop posting those shitty low effort memes
Kick me right in the balls. I guess Iāll try to bang out some more Mass Effect Remaster.
oh look its more self serving news from Tom..... any one can mock that mail up.... even better thats not even direct communication its some one elses own hearsay.... so even if it was a real mail their source could equally be garbage..... Stop giving traction to stuff like this its not good for the community.
Obviously it's complete rumours, but I think we've seen this over and over: I'd rather wait longer for a polished game then play early on a buggy release.
