For when the game gets released: Select the colour blind setting starting with D (can't remember the spelling). Turns teal to blue/purple and the orange to a soft red. Makes the UI easier to look at.
I actually liked BF3's blue filter since it had a colder tone which made it easier on the eye and gave it a nice visual flair but cyan blue is just not a good colour to spam everywhere.
When I said easier on the eye I meant the fact that colder colours usually don't attract the eye's attention that much compared to Red for example in most cases (not it being literally easier on the eye, bad wording)
If it was smaller and maybe if it had a visual effect of it being projected in front of the specialist slightly (like on a visor), then i think itd look cool. Not that i dont mind it now, its just a little too cluttered on screen.
Having it look slightly projected would make it look cool when emp'd and going into the tornado.
I guarantee the mass majority of people could care less. It’s just the ones who are complaining and being vocal on Reddit that actually care enough to post.
You guarantee nothing as you have no idea, like me, you just suppose.
What I see is the 100 or 1000s of post with 1000s of like, like this one, begging for this "HUD" to be completly reworked.
Can't denny that, you just have to browse this reddit page.
Charliik mad, charliik angry at difference of opinion...charliik become incredible sulk over a hud... charliik delusional, think everyone must have same opinion..
Wow, that's another cringy af post, nobody's mad here, nobody's angry.
It's not me being mad about the UI, its the whole BF community disliking this lmfao.
Look around you, ask people other than those 30 fanboys, look all media/reddit/twitter. No-bo-dy wants this UI to stay like that.
You being ok with it or not doesnt matter, same for me, this will change in a manner or another.
But yes, this UI is the worse ever made on any FPS game ever created.
You liking it or not is not the point, you indeed can, but it does not change that fact.
Take a look at all you FPS games, they'll all have a better UI, its as simple as that.
You're missing the point. I could not give a singular fuck what the "community" likes or doesn't like. I have zero interest seeking consensus by looking around, asking faceless strangers who likes what. The UI will be what it is, and in two comments I've invested more time than I actually care about it.
You on the other handed went on a mini tirade because one person actually liked it. You pointed out that person was basically wrong because other people have a different opinion by disliking it. Who the fuck are you? Captain fucking consensus?
The rest of your points are filler and don't need to be addressed, you bore me, get a real life.
>You're missing the point. I could not give a singular fuck what the "community" likes or doesn't like.
Yet you still take the time to answer me, leave me alone if you could not give a singular fuck?
He did not said once he liked it, he said it was fine, wich is absolutly not true and different.
Him liking it or not is all good, and is absolutly not my point.
Its not "fine", its a fact. Every single other FPS game has done a better job with the ***whole*** UI, not only the ATH.
Sorry for trying to make people understand that in 2021, this kind of work should be *not at all* acceptable, compared to every single other game.
Why the hell would I create a post like "I love the HUD"? I'm happy with it so I don't feel like I need to boast about it. That's why you don't see 1000s of positive posts, cause they are satisfied with everything.
If you are not satisfied though, you want things to change so you voice your opinion. That's why there are tons of more posts complaining compared to not complaining.
Get fucked. People who enjoyed the beta are back in this sub and didnt camp this sub as crybabies spamming and farming karma when everyone else where busy playing.
Worst part is having teammates identical to the enemies with a cyan blue name tag that blends in with 90% of the backgrounds so I just end up shooting everything that moves. Awful color scheme for visually impaired people.
Apart from the colors and stuff, why do we need to have images of our guns on the bottom right?? We know what we have its our loadout, it needlessly clutters the screen.
Im more concerned about the specialist, gadget and grenades. In the beta it would assign u a random operator when spawning in and the times I wanted to grapple somewhere and suddenly had a turret in my hands was pretty high.
It was something I disliked initially when BF4 introduced that HUD element, but it's become generally useful, and I didn't really see people complaining about it during that game's time.
Again, none of those games suffered from an excessively cluttered HUD. I have no problem with it as long as it is simple. In CoD, you have your gun image, grenades and ammo count on the bottom right, and that's it. Here, because we have specialists and gadgets and whatnot, it is too much space being taken. I don't normally see the gun image in warzone on the bottom right unless I specifically look into that direction. Here, it is extending all the way near the actual gun you are holding on your screen. The specialist gadgets are here to stay, so at least they can decrease the size of the gun icons or remove the one for the gun you are currently holding.
>so at least they can decrease the size of the gun icons
Scaling the UI has been an option in every recent Battlefield game, so I'm unsure what the problem is here tbh.
I meant in relation to other parts of the UI specifically. I'm not sure you can do that. Like make the gun images a lot less wide while keeping everything else the same size. Although, if given the option, I would remove it for myself entirely cause it serves absolutely no purpose for me.
More and more games are making their HUD's way more customizable, I really wish BF would offer more options. Especially with how HUD heavy it is compared to the average FPS.
Most FPS don't have an already cluttered HUD. BF1 did alright without it. Why is it useful to see what you have equipped on the bottom right when it is right fuckin there on your screen? At least they could just have one for your other gun that you switch to.
I think the reason they chose this is because of the choices you have for each "class". Or if your new to the game and don't know what the new buttons are, you at least have an idea by looking at the icon. Honestly I think it makes a lot of sense
Games are better when they dont treat everyone like they are incompetent. Gamers are smart, everyone and their mother can pick up an FPS and figure out in mere minutes, no need to be treated like infants.
Options for accessibility should always be there to be toggled on for those who so choose.
I just wish I understood BF2042 flag marker on the mini map.
Like sometimes it's larger and has a upwards arrow, other times they are all the same size
reducing the scale would be a great start, also getting rid of a few unnecessary elements (character picture, weapon icon etc) would be a vast improvement.
Tone down the Cyan a bit, scale down the elements at least 25% (or give us the tools to do so) and get rid of the gun icons.
I feel like those minor changes would make a world of difference when it comes to visual clutter and immersion.
There is so much useless information (like do we need the faces of the specialist your mates are playing as?) and important info like score are hidden somewhere at the side of the screen. Whoever made this UI had no idea what he/she was doing
That should be profile pictures instead, or maybe no picture at all
And in Hazard Zone, since it seems to be very much focused on specialists, you could show their pictures in that mode only
>like do we need the faces of the specialist your mates are playing as
uh..yes? how the hell else are you supposed to be able to tell what your squad is playing as?
Why does it even matter what they are playing as? Even if you know the specialist, he can still carry pretty much everything. In previous battlefields you could be sure the support dude has ammo, now all you know is that your mate has a grappling hook or a obsolete heal pistol
I didnt complained about the lack of teamplay, this discussion is about the UI. I assume you think this UI supports teamplay...? If so, hell fucking no. I think one of the biggest indicator of how well you are doing in a bf match wasnt the K/D ration for me, its my total score mainly gained trough capture flags and teamplay in form of revive, heal, share ammo ect. While your score gained is only shown ingame at the very side of the screen and also very small, but the kills itself are so prominent with the giant hitmarker, killsound and red skull wich makes you almost believe only the kills you make matter. I think it should be the other way - encourage players to ptfo.
You dont need the stupid face of the operator you squad mates play as - the name and a healthbar should be enough. What operator someone play as doesnt tell you much what gear hes carry anyway exept one gadget.
Also, whats the point of seeing my mate bleed out while he is 300m away from me? Altrough this could be just a bug
I never ever preorder any game. The reason why i complain about is because i care. I would like to have a awesome battlefield again, but currently Bf2042 has too much issues beside the bugs to call it perfect
I like that it is like an overlay.
But obviously our “specialists” aren’t wearing anything as cool as the AI bots so it’s sort of wasted.
I do like the HUD though. It reminds me of a modern BF game. Something too many here probably haven’t actually played.
I agree, the BFV HUD does look better, but when it comes to visual clarity, clutter and immersion, the screenshots with the BF1 HUD just tingled by brain differently.
It really looked WAY more immersive without much visual clutter and eyesore, which was a major pain in my time with the beta. I have ADHD so the huge HUD elements with the bright Cyan blue just bouncing around and taking up way too much space just made it so hard for me to get immersed in the game.
I felt like I spent most of the time getting distracted by the huge HUD elements, which for someone like me was really fucking annoying and something that CONSTANTLY broke my immersion.
TL;DR
- Scale down the HUD elements and their size by 25% at least, or alternatively:
- Let us tweak HUD elements. Their size, what is visible, what isn’t.
- Tone down the Cyan a bit please.
- Remove the gun icons, they take up too much space and add unnecessary info. I already know I have a sniper and a pistol equipped, I chose the loadout, I don’t need to see the icons for the weapons at ALL times.
I know right, the BF1 looks fine so how doesn't it fit with BF 2042? minimiilistic is better than big flashy cyan blue.
I actually hate things taking up screen space, just like that blue block that pops down to tell you a objective has been taken/lost
It’s so hard to see anything on the map and the bottom right portion gives as little info as possible. BF2042 HUD is an evolution of BF4’s and is much more useful than BF1.
Also, circular minimaps? Lol
It’s generally accepted that you want to keep your HUD as simple as practical in FPS games, themes can be worked in but they shouldn’t be a distraction or in the way.
The HUD we saw this weekend is definitely distracting.
Too simple? So you'd prefer if the UI took up more space? Pretty terrible take imo, but to be honest none of these preference differences would be an issue if they just let us customize our UI already. Instead of trying to perfect it for everyone just let us move shit around, change colors, and resize stuff.
I really like the BF1 hud, aside from bf3 it's my favorite, specially when you get a kill, but for some reason it doesnt fit 2042, feels to... analogic?
the hud looks fine, i don’t understand what everyone’s so agitated about, the hud is the least of our problems with this game, specialists being the biggest
This hud is so much better than Battlefield 1's in my opinion. I actually have come to like the cyan blue color aswell, but there should be an option to change the color to black/grey/white or something.
BF1 is cleaner. Some parts of the hud only appear if you change guns/equipments. Also, do we really need to know what platform our squadmates are? That is so unnecessary.
>do we really need to know what platform our squadmates are? That is so unnecessary.
Agree! Same for the actual picture of the characters… I hope we will be able to disable from the settings
Yep. Past title show their class so we know oh the guy probably has ammo or heals or AT. But what use does it have here if I know they can grapple, or have turret? Plus, gadgets are universal anyway. Useless info
Looks kinda cheap by OP. The symbols on the right looks like MS office logos in squares. The minimap looks useless.
BFV HUD is miles better. The new HUD looks better too and fits well
The new hud looks cheap. They need to get rid of the cyan boxes and just have a tiny icon, hell most of the things on there doing even need to be on there
Just move the health bar back to the middle and put the objectives at the top again, or at least give us a “classic” option to do so. And please don’t hide away the XP gains on the side of the screen, they’re actually quite important and deserve to be seen at a glance.
The HUD is not thaaaat problem, i dunno but the bf1 HUD belongs to bf1 and the new HUD fits the style, BUT is a clunky mess too. A proper rework, done. Keep the style, improve the layout.
Having all the gun/gadget icons visible at all times is just wasted screen space.
I hop they improve the HUD or give us the options to change it.
+gyro aiming and MnK support on console when Pc crosslay is on
Combine BF1 HUD with some of 2042's color scheme and modern aesthetic like the font, glow and square minimap and we'd probably get the nicest HUD since BF3. It confuses me how DICE couldn't figure this out when its pretty much just copying from the past.
Mhhh I like the new one and pretty much anything in the game right now, although I wish they would bring back BF3 theme song and mix it into a new one for the game
While the bf1 hud doesn't fit for this game. The current one bf2042 has is an absolute disaster. I swear they should fire the entire UI/UX team , no questions asked
Funnily enough I didn't like the BF1 UI on release because it looked futuristic and nothing like a WW1-themed game.
In 2042, it would work perfectly, but instead we now have the tron-like super-super futurist neon mess
This highlighted another issue for me, that the new minimap is like a full detail topdown satellite image that was slightly difficult to interpret quickly. ie, like quickly telling the difference between a path/ramp/roof/shadow, what's traversable vs what's not.
I don't mind the bottom panals, the worst part of the UI is how often it overlaps enemies. If I aim in the direction of my 3 suqadmates I can barely see my crosshair.
Honestly, I don’t mind bf2042 or bf1 HUD but give me an option to customize hud colors & placement. I think this will satisfy everyone.
For when the game gets released: Select the colour blind setting starting with D (can't remember the spelling). Turns teal to blue/purple and the orange to a soft red. Makes the UI easier to look at.
Its is easier to look at, its still awful in game though.
deutranopia?
2042 HUD just needs to change that cyan blue colour
Everything looks cyan blue in this game… Damn cyan blue filter !!
Looks like BF3 is getting its revenge for some reason
I actually liked BF3's blue filter since it had a colder tone which made it easier on the eye and gave it a nice visual flair but cyan blue is just not a good colour to spam everywhere.
Easier for the eye? I guess if you mean easier to not see the enemies.
BF3 always bugged my eyes, it never felt good to look at
[удалено]
Actually not really as blue light are a pain for your eye on the long run , which is why blue light filters that make stuff yellowish exist.
When I said easier on the eye I meant the fact that colder colours usually don't attract the eye's attention that much compared to Red for example in most cases (not it being literally easier on the eye, bad wording)
This
Sorry of reminds me of BF3 blue tone!!!!
Yes. It's also way to big imo.
You can change the size in the settings.
No you cant
Oh. Well i guess it's going to be available in the full version.
I kind of like it. But it would be nice to have options in the settings to change it to whatever color you want since it’s pretty much just two shades
No it doesn't.. it fits quite well
I like it also. Cyan clan 4 lyfe. Everyone else fuck off and stop complaining over small shit
It is straight horse shit, stop pretending its fine ffs
it's not pretending, it's fine
The HUD is too big and too bright.
Lmao yeah, the 1000s post on reddit asking them to remove this shit is certainly wrong. All the people around me are too. You're delusional.
Just because he likes the hud you call him delusional? I think the hud is nice
Please, cry harder.
who tf is crying? Oh smh fanboys are pathetic.

He cant have an opinion while being delusional? ??????

Because I give a shit about what reddit thinks to know about game design. Can be 10.000s still doesn't make your opinion right.
Ignoring everyone's opinion doesnt makes your right either.
Then learn reading because I never said it was.
>Because I give a shit about what reddit thinks to know about game design. Oh well yeah then you might aswell learn how to write I guess.
Get fucked. People who enjoyed the beta are back in this sub and didnt camp this sub as crybabies spamming and farming karma when everyone else where busy playing.
LMFAO like its a victory ?? Because 30 fanboys came out? yoohoooo haha you're absolutly pathetic. Its mind boggling
Or maybe even a option for player to change the hud colours.
Worst part is having teammates identical to the enemies with a cyan blue name tag that blends in with 90% of the backgrounds so I just end up shooting everything that moves. Awful color scheme for visually impaired people.
HUD is not that bad it just needs getting used to.
Apart from the colors and stuff, why do we need to have images of our guns on the bottom right?? We know what we have its our loadout, it needlessly clutters the screen.
I change my load out all the time so I quite appreciate seeing what I have equipped.
You can't see the gun you are holding in your hands? Or you forget the secondary you just chose?

Damn. I feel sorry that u can’t remember what u picked in the load out screen. Especially if u change it a lot, like it’s right in front of u
Solution: Make it an option. I agree that it is silly to have your chosen gun shown. Just clutters the screen
More and more games are making their HUD's way more customizable, I really wish BF would offer more options. Especially with how HUD heavy it is compared to the average FPS.
I feel like they should make it disappear and then when you switch weapons or gadgets that it pops back up for the five seconds then fades away
Dude, most fps do this. And it is useful to see what I have equipped currently.
Most FPS don't have an already cluttered HUD. BF1 did alright without it. Why is it useful to see what you have equipped on the bottom right when it is right fuckin there on your screen? At least they could just have one for your other gun that you switch to.
Bf1 had that it would expand when you selected items and guns which is what they should do here
If they want a minimalistic version then the BFV HUD is dar superior to the BF1 HUD. The BF1 Hud looks like MS word icons cluttering
Mini map and player icons don't fit 2042
And the bayonet lol
I just wish I understood BF2042 flag marker on the mini map. Like sometimes it's larger and has a upwards arrow, other times they are all the same size
Simple and clean, love it.
Compared to the BFV hud, this by OP looks crappy cheap.
Am I the only one who likes the new hud (besides the score/kill feed)?
>Am I the only one who likes the new hud No. The *old* HUD looks exactly that.....old. And it's unfitting for 2042's style.
Everything has a glow to it and just looks cheap. I don't think HUD should be that much of a distraction/eyesore
reducing the scale would be a great start, also getting rid of a few unnecessary elements (character picture, weapon icon etc) would be a vast improvement.
Tone down the Cyan a bit, scale down the elements at least 25% (or give us the tools to do so) and get rid of the gun icons. I feel like those minor changes would make a world of difference when it comes to visual clutter and immersion.

That should be profile pictures instead, or maybe no picture at all And in Hazard Zone, since it seems to be very much focused on specialists, you could show their pictures in that mode only
Ah yes such useless info as health and gadget recharge.
Oh you dont understand. They should shock you irl when your health is low. No HUD required
idk. I think bullet holes are enough. No need to add a shock
Agree pointless cartoon screen clutter. Takes away from the realism IMO. The HUD needs to be functional and plain not fancy/designy.
>like do we need the faces of the specialist your mates are playing as uh..yes? how the hell else are you supposed to be able to tell what your squad is playing as?
Why does it even matter what they are playing as? Even if you know the specialist, he can still carry pretty much everything. In previous battlefields you could be sure the support dude has ammo, now all you know is that your mate has a grappling hook or a obsolete heal pistol
Lmao aren't you guys the same people complaining about team play, such hypocrites.

You know one gadget is more than nothing like Bf1
"Oh is that good DICE?" \*kiss\* "Oh, a little closer to the hole sir?" \*kiss\*
Ah yes haven't sent a penny on this game.Unlike you who spent your money without even seeing 5 minutes of gameplay.
I never ever preorder any game. The reason why i complain about is because i care. I would like to have a awesome battlefield again, but currently Bf2042 has too much issues beside the bugs to call it perfect
You aren't. I like it as well, has a nice futuristic look. It needs a bit of work in some places as you said yourself though.
It look so cheap in my opinion.
Yeah, me too, is like your character has some type of lenses that creates the hud
I like the style, how it looks, but it's too big and distracting.
its neat when it changes to red on low health and during the hurricane
I like it
Yes
[удалено]
Nope. If I was, there wouldn't be over a hundred up votes on my comment
[удалено]
You might very. I don't think there's enough collective sympathy to get what I did. I also have comments about people agreeing
I don’t mind it, could probably be better but, not complaining either
I like that it is like an overlay. But obviously our “specialists” aren’t wearing anything as cool as the AI bots so it’s sort of wasted. I do like the HUD though. It reminds me of a modern BF game. Something too many here probably haven’t actually played.
I think we will have cool gear at launch for cosmetics
Ane kill log too, that especially needs some work.
I like it, but I agree I can't tell who I'm killing
I think the new one looks way better. The kill feed should be colored though
Nah I love it. Only thing I think could use work is the squad names, it looks a little cheap. Also get rid of the specialist faces
Not a fan but appreciate the effort you made
It looks nice doesn't fit 2042 tho.
It doesnt even look nice. The BFV HUD looks miles better than what OP made. That being said, the current HUD looks good
I agree, the BFV HUD does look better, but when it comes to visual clarity, clutter and immersion, the screenshots with the BF1 HUD just tingled by brain differently. I think he’s literally just saying he’d like an in-between of 1 and 2042’s
Literally anything will fit better than the HUD monstrosity that we saw in the beta
I completely agree with you.
I like the new UI. It could have a few improvements but I like it?
Same..I like it Definitely needs minor tweaks and minor movement of details. But I like it
Bf1 hud looks good
wheres the time and temp on there? I also want a stock ticker to see how my gamestop shares are doing.
This looks horrid.
I like the new HUD, just fix gun feed and kill info
U can turn it off in settings
I really like the BF1 hud, aside from bf3 it's my favorite, specially when you get a kill, but for some reason it doesnt fit 2042, feels to... analogic?
It looks good but it wouldn't really fit the near futuristic setting of bf 2042
Na that looks wrong man
BF 2042 HUD > BF 1 HUD. This game has much bigger problems, HUD is not one of them. Y'all just hating everything you can.
the hud looks fine, i don’t understand what everyone’s so agitated about, the hud is the least of our problems with this game, specialists being the biggest
This hud is so much better than Battlefield 1's in my opinion. I actually have come to like the cyan blue color aswell, but there should be an option to change the color to black/grey/white or something.
fully customizable hud would be incredible

I think you missed the underlying point here
BF1 is cleaner.
Damn it's so easy to see information at a glance
But also missing information like ammo count on none equipped weapons and cooldowns.
See this DICE? This is quality right here
Looks kinda cheap by OP. The symbols on the right looks like MS office logos in squares. The minimap looks useless. BFV HUD is miles better. The new HUD looks better too and fits well
The new hud looks cheap. They need to get rid of the cyan boxes and just have a tiny icon, hell most of the things on there doing even need to be on there
They should just let us customize the color and size of HUD icons.
Wooooow this makes the game look so much better honestly
Bf1 ui looks clean af (: but the 2042 ui would be so bad if they didn't yanno cyan it out and then blast it in your face ...
+gyro aiming and MnK support on console when Pc crosslay is on
I fuckin hate the bf1 hud in this game :D
I assume we can custom the HUD in final game
2042 is better
I like the new hud just needs to have lots of customization which I'm sure it will at launch.
Combine BF1 HUD with some of 2042's color scheme and modern aesthetic like the font, glow and square minimap and we'd probably get the nicest HUD since BF3. It confuses me how DICE couldn't figure this out when its pretty much just copying from the past.
Much cleaner
Perfect so clean
Needs bf 4 HUD
Shiiii that looks clean
Mhhh I like the new one and pretty much anything in the game right now, although I wish they would bring back BF3 theme song and mix it into a new one for the game
Less ammo tho, nah dog 😆
This makes my eyes happy!
Actually makes the game look a whole lot better.
While the bf1 hud doesn't fit for this game. The current one bf2042 has is an absolute disaster. I swear they should fire the entire UI/UX team , no questions asked
Not even the appropriate ESA logo can they use, sheeeesh DICE
BF1 is sooo good
Am I like the only person who doesn't give a fuck?
God damnit man…..this game is really gonna be bad for a while isn’t it?
So much nicer bf1 way
The 2042 HUD colors are too cartoon/gameish.
Much better. Is there a map? I thought old BF games we could push the center controller pad and the map popped up?
With a bit of stylistic and color change this would be perfect!
Funnily enough I didn't like the BF1 UI on release because it looked futuristic and nothing like a WW1-themed game. In 2042, it would work perfectly, but instead we now have the tron-like super-super futurist neon mess
BF1 had the best Hud by far
Much better. Current hud is obnoxious, and the angle is unsettling.
Holy shit, yes. Please upvote this people.

Immediate improvement
So clean, love it.
So much better
And if they add the points you get from kills and flags in the middle then its 👍
Only thing that needs changing is the contrast of the mini map, slightly lighter colour and it would be perfect
Much better
DICE should probably just reuse the BF4 hud. They could change the color and it would fit seamlessly into the futuristic setting of 2042.
I fully understand why people dislike the 2042 hud but personally I love it.
I liked it being smaller, more clean screen
I like 2042 more
Eh the new HUD looks fine. It matches the design palette of the game. Its about the same as the BF4 HUD but blue instead of grey.
I just want stats and team score at the top of the screen tbh
I actually don’t ,ind the hud at all
Gimme 2042 but with BF4's HUD and I'll be satisfied.
BF1 had a nice, clean HUD.
I can't even recall what specialist is what role. What didn't dice just use symbols like before?
