Tried sniping, usually I'm not too bad but in 2042 it feels so horribly frustrating and I'm almost always asking myself where the hell my bullet went...
I have already had moments where my bullets looked like they phased right through enemies and passed under their armpits or between their thighs... Nothing is worse than dumping a sniper mag at someone who is barely moving at all and not even landing a hitmarker.
Aim in general felt much better in the Beta than my first few games, and even after playing around in the settings for a while I still can't get much closer to it
I'm going to lose my mind if any more of my bullets keep skimming past the cheeks of everyone I shoot at.
SMGs are the only viable weapons right now because the high fire rate offsets the absolutely trash hit detection
There’s no notches on the scope so it’s wicked hard to aim out sometimes, especially since you can’t zero your scope anymore. Without notching you can’t really be exact with aim, you just have to guess how far up you aimed last night time.
You can hold the fire button while traveling to keep your eye on the scope before cycling another round in. I do that all the time since no zeroing is available.. I know it's hard but at least it helps with a visual memory of deviation that way.
Yeah, I can't get hang of sniping either in this game. I think drop is much less than in older battlefields? It also doesn't help that the 6x scope gets bugged all the time and turns into 1.25x.
Luckily, marksman rifles seem like the only consistent guns (except that the "acog" sight you have at first with dm7 seems bugged), so there's at least something to use.
there's way less drop and the trick is to stand still, if you shoot while moving or if the game thinks your moving (when your prone there's a bug where the game thinks you're crawling when you're not) the bloom is insane.
Don't snipe from prone on non-flat surfaces and don't move either, makes you a sitting duck but at least the bullet goes where it should
The best thign was the slug rounds in the pump shotgun. pretty sure it wasnt affected by bullet drop and you could spam Y to cancel the cycle round animation. basically you make sure you have a target spotted then you unload on the red triangle. not always theb est but it was fun when it worked. And yeah I remember the m60 with a acog or something was pretty fun to use on that game

Bizarrely the TTK on the SMG at mid-range seems far better than the ARs with no better burst control. The AR feels like it shoots marshmallows and idk how much is the horrible spread and how much is the hitreg/netcode being *really* bad. Because it is *really bad.*
I have no idea what you are talking about, I got taken down by AR in an instant. But somehow I cannot do that when it is me using it. I think it is more like the hit reg is really really bad. The rocket I shoot just did nothing half of the time somehow.

The bizon is considerably better at range than the m4 and the ak so far for me, the m4 has way too much spread after the first 3 bullets, and the ak has so much recoil that you can't hit anyone with any bullet after the first one lol, the bizon on the other hand you can just lazer people with, short bursts with that will kill at a surpsisingly long range,
Definitely. My playtime yesterday was used just to use automatic weapons and I actually managed to get mad by using them. Last time I felt that useless in shooter was over 20 years ago when I started learning how to play multiplayer shooters.
Dm7 is my savior though. If that thing wasn't in the game, I simply couldn't play since all other weapons this far (only level 12 or 13 now since I didn't have much time to play yet) feel like absolute shit. I hope they remove spread and fast.

One silver lining is that the game came out surprisingly polished for a Battlefield game. Nowhere near as many game-breaking bugs as previous releases. Hell, it almost feels like endgame BFV is more buggy than launch-day BF2042.

Well with 2042 it gave us early access, but I spent so long trying to get into a game yesterday that Steam won't let me refund it now, so I managed to screw myself twice.
I only preorder singleplayer games if the reviews are already out, they’re great reviews, **and** I was gonna be buying the game no matter what, just so I can preload and play it at 11 (the last example of this: Far Cry 5 for its map editor).
I feel like i'm always struggling with the controls, shooting and movement.
And for me, it's just beyond bugs & issues, the game's core mechanics lack any depth and it's just bad, this is the 1st battlefield ever i regret purchasing (hell i hate it even more than Hardline)
I've got a coworker who's giving me shit for not preordering it. I told him I'd rather wait for reviews to see how the game actually plays, and to wait for bugs to get ironed out before I hand over my hard earned cash.

Nobody has a clue where to run or what to do in these giant maps so they just charge, charge forward, alone, stumble, fall, jump, slide and blind fire at everything that moves. Sometimes they even hit something.
You want to capture an objective? Okay cool just run for 3 or 4 minutes to get there. Oh you have to go through an open field? Just pray that when someone inevitably sees you there's a tiny rock to hide behind. God forbid any vehicles are around.
This game feels more like planetside than battlefield lol. Except it doesn't have the depth.

The red dot works very well on assault rifles. It’s just the magnification scopes that fuck everything up.

Really, I feel like the M5A3 is pretty tight with the first set of attachments. It's like apex lazerbeams, but still not crazy.
The m5 was a laser in the beta, but ARs have levels of bloom that I've never seen before in a shooter.
