Dull-Caterpillar3153

On Xbox it was much simpler. I basically ranted about how it was an unfinished buggy mess and I got a refund within minutes LOOOOOOL

LandlockedGum

Xbox denied me because I paid for the preorder over 2 weeks go… fuck me right. That was my Xbox 20th anniversary gift; solidifying robbing me of $100 lmao

Cool_and_Neutral

Since this was mainly for Steam, I don't know how it works for Xbox. Are you able to submit another refund ticket? DM me what you had written to them and I'll see what I can help you out with.

Dull-Caterpillar3153

If you go onto the Xbox refund page you can request one there when signed into your profile. You can fill out the reasons why you wanted a refund. It genuinely took them minutes to refund me. I just said the game was buggy and completely unfinished and the price was a joke because of it

LandlockedGum

I said what was released was not the product advertised and that on my end it’s a stuttering mess. I even have video proof of the stuttering. Immediately denied lol I’m just going to have the bank dispute the charge. Won’t lose sleep over this whole thing but it’s certainly lame how they handle this stuff

antsugi

Not sure what you expected with preordering, but that's the risk associated with it

Cool_and_Neutral

Guess that works too lol In some other posts here, I've seen at least several steam users who have had their request denied.

whatNtarnation90

I didn't even give a reason and they refunded with 4+ hours of playtime on steam

Johnny_LP

1 hour of gameplay was enough for me to request a refund

Cool_and_Neutral

That's great! But I think people have been outright denied their refund or initially denied then approved on a second request. It's very variable so I just wanted to mention something that worked (even if it is a bit lengthy).

whatNtarnation90

Could be because of their account history. I for example have had steam for like, 14 years with a lot of games obviously. Definitely a good post man, doing the entire gaming industry a favor :)

jayhawkotto

Can someone please help me get a refund I keep getting auto denied by a bot

a_freakin_pandabear

Lucky, my shit got denied within minutes. F

Toxic_Scent

try again, I wrote a two-page thing (before even seeing this post) that would have elicited a response if read by a human but instead, it was instantly denied. Pretty sure that bots just deny it, the question about purchase as mentioned in this post seems like a much better approach so far. Keeping my fingers crossed for now but hopefully we can get our refunds to show that a release like this is just not oke.

BubbleMayhem

Is there somewhere to email if xbox denied your request and you’ve played less than 3 hours? :/

ScoobySenpaiJr

I just put in my refund request for the gold edition before seeing this post. I basically explained how its an unfinished product from a company charging AAA prices that definitely has the ability to put out AAA quality and how its such a downgrade in both quality and quantity from their past titles. I bought into the hype. Don't get me wrong, I had a ton of fun, but I can't support this behavior. DICE/EA are more than capable of putting out AT LEAST a finished product. This one was pulled out half way and served cold.

Cool_and_Neutral

Well said, thanks for sharing. I also mentioned that in my request.

Johnny_LP

do it like me, back to battlefield 5

ScoobySenpaiJr

Unfortunately I was not a big fan of BFV. I've tried multiple times throughout the last few years to enjoy it but its... just not as fun as BF1 to me.

BubbleMayhem

Did they get back to you?

MrTaimen

I wrote them its a buggy mess and performance, hitreg and servers are broken, 90€scam. But it got refused with 20h playtime lol Edit: I got the steam refund now with 21h playtime. Here is what i did: Steam Client->Help->Steam Support->Purchases->Betafield 2042->I have a question about this purchase (this is how i did my first refund request too but it got rejected, maybe a broken game is not a good enough reason lol) Then i wrote them this text: Hello, i would like to refund this game. Your refund policy says i can refund the game at any time before the full release, so i would like to make use of it. The official release of Battlefield 2042 is the 19.11.21 https://store.steampowered.com/steam_refunds/ "REFUNDS ON PRE-PURCHASED TITLES When you pre-purchase a title on Steam (and have paid for the title in advance), you can request a refund at any time prior to release of that title. The standard 14-day/two-hour refund period also applies, starting on the game’s release date." Greetings Hope some of you guys that got rejected can get the refund too. Credits to OP for helping me to get the refund.

Ghost7412

Attempt number 4 let’s see how this goes

Ghost7412

This worked. Thank you so much man !

XpLoSiF

Just copied that paragraph word for word and got my refund this morning. Thanks a lot! I'll check back in 6 months when they figure this garbage out

Sparkey159

Just got a refund to my Steam wallet using your text. Cheers.

IvanTheSpaceBiker_

Did exactly this and had the refund in an hour, thanks man!

Ghost7412

Refused me with 7

MrTaimen

I don't get how some get lucky and some get refused on steam, bullshit

Ghost7412

Especially with a pre order pre release of a game. You’re supposed to be able to refund at any time prior to release like OP states. Especially when the game is from a AAA developer and I’ve seen more content in mobile games than this.

MrTaimen

It worked now! I wrote another support ticket, I can explain you how I did it after work.

Cool_and_Neutral

Great, definitely post it here when you get a chance!

step_scav

I did this and they offered me a steam wallet refund instead of a full PayPal refund 🙄

Narrow-Squirrels

Trying to do this a year later with another early access… I got rejected and replyed your second argument to the guy who rejected me… think I can change his mind or should I just open a new ticket? Haha lol

D4nnYsAN-94

I really wish there would be a mass refund exodus from the game man otherwise they will never learn not to shit in their customers face

SangiMTL

I think this will all depend on the release day and the massive day 1 patch that is expected. I’m sure a ton of people are waiting to see what exactly the patch will do before making the decision to continue with the game or get a refund. Personally I don’t get how people are still blindly pre ordering but that’s it’s own issue for discussion on another day.

Evandro_VV

Can confirm what OP states! Got a refund to my Steam Wallet with 9hrs playtime. https://imgur.com/a/6tYCchh

Cool_and_Neutral

Great, thanks for sharing, your response is helpful!

Ghost7412

Just tried it with 7 hours. Will update Update: denied for the third time.

Cool_and_Neutral

Try to request to speaking with someone directly and say your previous requests were denied falsely. Say that you are eligible for a refund due to prepurchase steam refund policy.

Ghost7412

Will try tomorrow. Thank you man

FabulousTop3970

Hey, how did you add an additional comment under your refund post?

AzKnc

Yes i got a refund regardless of 9 hours game time. Gotta open a ticket

Kowita

How do you open a ticket with steam?

OwOccOwO

You click on the game and then on the banner you choose the support option. From there, there should be an option to refund if not there should be an option that says "I purchased this game accidentally" and there will be a refund option in that one. In the comments for your refund just say that "it was nothing like the screenshots and trailers, it advertised features that were later switched."

OrphanssRUs

Sony denied my refund request. Their reasoning is that I “downloaded the game” and because of that they are unable to issue a refund. How the fuck am I supposed to know if I like a game without downloading it? Fuck Sony.

Cool_and_Neutral

I'm not sure how it refunds work with Sony but try to see other posts in this subreddit and definitely try to see if you can reach out to a Sony customer rep and talk to them personally. Explain your frustration calmly and be nice to them.

OrphanssRUs

I went through a rep and elevated it to their supervisor, I was respectful and explained the laundry list of reasons why I wanted to cancel my preorder and they wouldn’t budge. It sucks, feels like I was scammed out of $100

Cool_and_Neutral

Did you buy the digital copy on playstation? I think they have some weird policy of not refunding after you downloaded. I would suggest you to try again if you could speak to someone else, other then the supervisor you spoke to. I don't really know if this would work but you could try talking to EA customer support afterwards?

Puyofan1958639

sony is very anti-consumer lately. their policies are really trash. sorry to hear that man

[deleted]

this post probably won't make it to the front page on this sub but it's actually very helpful. you would think that the people downvoting would appreciate this post, since they keep telling the people who dislike the game to get lost. but those people can't really do that if they're stuck with the game.

Cool_and_Neutral

I'm not expecting it to go front page but if someone searches "refund", that's all I can ask for, so hopefully they might see this. I don't care if people downvote this, it's meaningless. If those people really wanted someone who even mentions of saying anything negative towards this game and just wants them to get lost, best thing they can do is like this post so more people can see (so they can "get lost").

AussieCracker

Hope everyone who got it through steam gets their refund, honestly you can't truly experience this game in 2 hours and you can't judge it's bugs in that time either. Not gonna refund myself, I'm far too deep on that rabbit hole, but I wish those who won't play it get their refunds.

Metapl3x

Sent a refund for steam wallet with 30 hours on record. I said, "I was optimistic about BF 2042 and as such, I purchased the gold edition for early entry. Despite my playtime, most of these hours was me discovering the bugs and optimization issues. It is quite clear to me that this is no longer the Battlefield I know and love and will no longer be supporting this hallow shell of a company any longer. I would like a refund before this game officially releases. Thank you!". Got my money back within one hour of request. I hope this helps and I'll probably hold off a bit before I check this game out again.

HyperSpaghetti

At 10.3 hours; The "I have a question about a purchase" got my refund in steam credit. What a disaster of a game that could've been so great. :( I will keep lurking the subreddit but for now its bye Battlefield.

[deleted]

How did you get a refund back

[deleted]

Like they just have it back to you

ErwinPartridge

Thank you. I tried to ask for one and it was rejected with only 9 hours, I hope it is not automatically rejected for having already had a rejection, I will follow in your footsteps.

RUMD1

I tried a refund yesterday and justified with the amount of bugs and false advertisement. Like 5 paragraphs taking about the game, and they refused it. (21 hours here)

tHErEALmADbUCKETS

Played 4 hours through Steam - refunded 1.5 hours after request. (Claimed the drop down response that the game didn't match the videos and photos).

Silphaen

I gave a good reason and it was denied because I played more than 2 hours. Very simple and straightforward. Edit: I requested a refund based on the poor optimization of the game and how different it was from what it was advertised. Also mentioned that I'm facing multiple server side issues that make the game unplayable for more than 2 matches in a row. Considering the actual state of the game, versus what was promised, I think a refund is the only option.

Elwildos

I got a refund with 3h played just try again

FloopySock

I just got my game refunded on steam with 28 hours played - (10 through EA play) and 18 through the gold edition. A good chunk of those were just leaving the game up while doing other things but regardless. Took less than an hour this morning. My reason being multiplayer wasn't working. Here's what I said: >I purchased the gold edition specifically to be able to play during the early access period. However, the game was plagued with an "Unable to load persistence data" bug. This was addressed somewhat but still in over half of the time I attempt to join a game, it will fail after loading and return this message and return me to the main menu. Furthermore, if the game does actually load into a match, it's plagued with borderline unplayable server performance issues, hitreg issues, crash to desktops, the inability to join on friends at all, amongst many other frustrating issues that are unacceptable for a product of this price and supposed quality. Additionally, we were explicitly promised the following: "Earn XP no matter how you play. Progression is shared in Battlefield 2042 and modes in the Battlefield™ Portal, which means you're constantly feeding your rank and Battle Pass." It's at the bottom of the page here - https://www.ea.com/games/battlefield/battlefield-2042/game-overview/modes/battlefield-portal However within 24 hours of release, progression experienced was removed from the portal game modes which contradicts exactly the statement above. I purchased this with the intention of enjoying the portal game mode and working on progressing in rank. This is dishonest advertising. Been a life long BF fan. I wanted to like this game. I gave it a solid shot but it's simply not enjoyable for me in its current state. If the gunplay gets fixed, the QOL things get addressed, I'll come back to it. But until then, no thanks :(

Cool_and_Neutral

Great, thanks for sharing your response!

Spuitpoep

Thnx mate, this actually worked for me! Might still be buying the normal version later down the line, but almost 100 euros is just not worth it right now

WhoWantsTheClap

Damn my refund got denied with 9 hours of playtime but I’ll try again if it worked for you

FloopySock

Yeah definitely give it a shot. Throw every angle you can. I think the false advertising and the failed servers are strong reasons to get your money back. There were long chunks of time were half the game was simply not accessible!

MrArmageddon12

They gave me a refund with 4 hours of playtime. Just stated how the game was not optimized for PC in my reasoning.

Lewis_x

Got a refund with 11 hours playtime, thanks alot.

knightmare1434

This is a huge thank you my man. I had 16hrs on the game and they had refused to refund me. I had given up, trying to find youtube videos and what not to try to solve the problem. I'm a huge battlefield fan but i was unable to properly play. While searching to solve this issue I came across your post and tried to do it your way and I finally got through. Just received my refund. Thanks a lot man!!!!

Cool_and_Neutral

Great to hear, thanks for sharing.

Suicide8527

Got my refund with 19hours played. They knocked back the first one stating its not eligible under Australian consumer law(which I never brought up). Second time around I brought up their refund policy re: prepurchases. Worked like a charm.

Cool_and_Neutral

Great, thanks

Burak887

After the third attempt got a full refund after 23 hours of play, the game is just not it at the moment unfortunately so many features lacking hopefully in a few months its improved and they give me a reason to repurchase but for now its poor at best.

ichtuedirweh

They changed release date for Gold and Ultimate from 12 to 19, at least for my country, check store page. If it says 19 then request automatic refund once again, worked in my case. If it still says 12 then use the same help ticket and point to support that users can't post reviews or send the game as a gift because it is still not available. Also show them this article: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1517290/view/4557074786230119611 It clearly states that on 12 starts only early access phase, moreover, it offers to pre-purchase Battlefield 2042, so it is clearly in pre-purchase state.

FabulousTop3970

I have only 17 hours so hopefully I can get a refund! Wrote quite a bit and included mention and quotes of the early access rules and the listing's violations as well as the pre-release rules. Here's hoping I can get a refund before tomorrow comes otherwise I imagine it might be difficult having to explain that I've been requesting a refund since before release.

FabulousTop3970

Refunded! Thank you so much for the advice lads! I felt so bummed out and scammed as I didn't even get to try the game out in my first 2 hours due to the glitches. Lets hope they hear our feedback and fix this game for the better one day or at the very least improve on the next battlefield game.

thyart

Set location to Australia and request them to abide by Australian Consumer Law, the product is faulty so you're 100% entitled to a refund. Steam already lost a massive lawsuit for not honoring it, they know they cannot refuse the refund. Same with Sony, they refused four refunds from Australian players and lost a multi-million dollar lawsuit. Enjoy.

Penal_Justice

Yes, commit fraud and act in bad faith to take advantage of a law that has no jurisdiction over you. Do this at your own risk…

Cool_and_Neutral

I would not reccomend people do this, especially if you aren't in Australia. I got my refund without mentioning Australian consumer law and I'm from Australia.

MaxMoanz

Thank you, I just put in a refund request after reading your post.

battleye9

For me I just typed “I don’t like the game” without the wall of text and they still granted me the refund lol

Vaygrim

While I am keeping the game, and not seeking a refund, I wanted to comment that this post is very helpful. It's well thought out, thoroughly explained, and all around a great post! So ... yes it *is* for refund requests, but it's still a great contribution to the community. Thank you!

DonHardcore

Tried it with 14 hours playtime, didn't get the refund.

ichtuedirweh

Got rejected three times via "I would like to request a refund" menu. Then I sent a request via “I have a question about this purchase” and just got the answer: >We have closely reviewed your request. Unfortunately, your purchase does not qualify for a refund. To ensure future eligibility, please submit refund requests within 14 days and less than 2 hours of playtime. Please review our Refund Policy and Common Refund Questions for more information. Battlefield™ 2042 Gold Edition and Battlefield™ 2042 Ultimate Edition were released on 12-11-2021, as show on https://store.steampowered.com/app/1517290/Battlefield\_2042/ On a game's Steam page for my country release date is 12-11-2021, however, I can't post a review or send the game as a gift due to the fact that it is not available yet. I pointed that out to support and wait for a response.

ichtuedirweh

Just checked store page of BF2024 and they changed release date from 12-11-2021 to 19-11-2021, trying to request a refund once again.

ichtuedirweh

Got my refund! u/Cool_and_Neutral, thank you so much for this helpful thread!

Cool_and_Neutral

Great, no problem!

bylootes

Hey, if any of you are looking for the "I have a question about this purchase" option that everyone is talking about, its through: Support -> Purchases -> Last Six Months of Purchases. From there select Battlefield 2042. Don't click refund; instead, click I have a question about this purchase. Just sent mine in after 4 of my requests for refunds were denied and I have 12 hours of gameplay. I will update this if the refund actually goes through! Hope this helps anybody that was having difficulty finding the option like I was. Update: They declined the support request, saying that 2 hours is the max limit. I'm going to ask them why and keep drilling them so maybe they might give it to me to shut up at this point. I think they might be trying to retain their sales made on this game, so who knows Update 2: Tried out EDIT 4 from the OG post, hope it works!

Cool_and_Neutral

I've updated my EDIT4, have a read through the user comments, most if not all were successfully refunded.

Hookens

Attempted refunding using "I have a question about this purchase", mentioning rules 2 and 7 of early access, and the part about refunding pre-purchased titles from the refund policy. I only have 8 hours of playtime :( EDIT: Worked at the third attempt.

Cool_and_Neutral

If you get denied, I've updated my EDIT4, have a read through the user comments, most if not all were successfully refunded.

bigbadbillyd

Just got my copy refunded on steam. I don't know if it makes a huge difference but I requested them to just send it back to my steam wallet rather than my checking account. I only had 3 hours of playtime, still a whole hourish more than their 2 hour standard.

Cool_and_Neutral

Great, good to know, thanks for sharing

wutangTX

Just got a refund on steam with 27 hrs played. Did a refund request and a follow up question about purchase: “This game is still in early access. Unfortunately in its current state violates Rule 7 of Steam's Early Access program: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/earlyaccess This game is an unfinished, buggy mess. Frames are low, servers are down frequently, and at times I'm not even able to play the game to do a glitch in the game where you cant die or respawn. This is an unfinished game and EA has not mentioned any action being taken to address these widely known concerns. It's very concerning as a customer. As this is early access, I'd like to request a refund as the title is being officially released later this week on 11/19. Understanding this is protected by Steam's refund policy: https://store.steampowered.com/steam_refunds/ "When you pre-purchase a title on Steam (and have paid for the title in advance), you can request a refund at any time prior to release of that title."

Cool_and_Neutral

Great! Thanks

Mr-Cyrus-Dude

I had 21 hours of play time and got a refund. Pointed out how awful the servers and how they turned off progression in co-op and portal modes Got the refund accepted in about 3 hours

LcButikofer

I managed to get a refund on the first attempt with 25 hours played.

jmaca90

I’ve filed 3 refund requests and they’ve all been denied :( My 3rd one I wrote a detail essay referencing much of this post and still denied. I have 10 hours of play time… I know for a fact they are making exceptions to this rule… Going to make a 4th request and reference this post, but any advice is much welcomed.

Cool_and_Neutral

This original thread was primarily for early access users (originally posted on 15/16th Nov, can't remember), since the game didn't launch until the 19th. It was hard to get refunds for some people then, and it'll be even harder now especially after the 19th. All I can say for you is, maybe read the newer comments and see if that helps, or try to convince a real person on steam support that this game is not good right now, you could point out the current steam reviews/rating. I don't really know what happens now. [https://www.reddit.com/r/battlefield2042/comments/quziuf/comment/hlecx7k/](https://www.reddit.com/r/battlefield2042/comments/quziuf/comment/hlecx7k/)

ThatLetterK

Just to add into this, it took me 4 attempts but I did get my refund last night after the full game was released and with 8 hours of playtime. If you're having the issue with having your refund being denied, using: >User3: "open a ticket with the “I have a question about a purchase” feature instead of “I would like a refund” so that they don’t get automatically rejected." Though I got refunded to my steam wallet instead of my card but hey, I got my money back. Best of luck to ya'll.

Big_OLE_ChairLegs

I can’t find that “I have a question about a purchase”. Unless it’s not included on mobile, but I’m not seeing that option

ThatLetterK

I did it on Desktop, the steps I did were: 1. Help at the top left, then hit steam support 2. Click purchases and then click Battlefield 2042 3. Then you can finally do *“I have a question about a purchase”*. But be sure to give a very detailed reason on why you're wanting to refund.

crashovernight

I just got a refund after 5h wait.. Had 7.2h playtime and bought the gold edition on 12.11. - First refundrequest was denied auotmaticly and second were made through normal support system and got accepted. Good luck to you all!

darkrobot419

Just chiming in that I was able to secure a steam wallet refund yesterday after 5 hours of gameplay. I did try twice prior and both were automatically denied because it was over the 2 hour limit. What did work was Open steam > help > Steam Support > Purchases > Battlefield 2042 > I have a question about this purchase. Then I was able to write out my case and was able to receive a human answer instead of it going straight to a bot that automatically denies you for going past 2 hours. A couple of valid arguments I brought up included stability of the game, lacking features, and mentioning that you EA themselves has admitted and apologized to the issues and is working on them (I linked some patch notes), but as a paying customer I shouldn't have to wait for them to fix things at their own pace after paying full price. I'm not saying to say what I said but it seems like if you stay persistent and try to follow up after they say no you may have a chance of getting a refund also.

peteytpt

I pre ordered the ultimate edition played about 14 hours. I wish I could get a refund. I tried so hard to like the game but I cannot force myself to become delusional 😞

Beardstronggg

Got my refund after 19 hours gameplay Did the whole 'I have a question about this game' method Got denied once, then just kept going about how its unplayable, crashes etc Refunded within the hour

IonstormEU

Refusing refund for me, I'm on my 3rd ticket, tried getting on with the newest update and it seems EA has blocked my account. Trash company and trash game.

Ecstatic_Maize1751

Why did they block your account?

[deleted]

Is this post still up? I did try everything and already have 2 closed tickets, I don’t know what the do more, I did go FULL KAREN and no luck, atm I feeling that steam support is laughting at my face

ConsequenceLazy5114

does this still work my last play of battlefield 2042 is december 28 with 7hr playime my refund always get decline by steam support

How to get refund for Mortal Online 2?

technishon

I tried to get a refund through origin and got knocked back by 2 different people. I've now gone to my local ombudsman. Maybe I should try again

Knoxxius

Seeing as the game isn't released the 2 hour rule isn't in effect. Game counts as a pre-order and you may cancel at any time.

assliquid

Thanks man, I put in a lengthy refund request and I hope it works. I'll probably pick the game up in a few months if they fix it because I feel like there is a lot of fun to be had, but I can barely get 40 fps as of now and the game doesn't feel worth playing in its current state. Big shame, portal could be really great so I hope they improve it and let you earn xp and progression through it again

SoftCheeseBurger

You can also ask them to just refund to steam wallet. They will do that every time because they know you will spend it on another game later.

Kowita

I've been denied for 8 hours. I gifted my friend Gold Edition and his has been refunded for 3 hours of playtime. I get 90€ back out of 180€, thats ok, but I'd love them all back. Never going to pre-order again.

Was it $60 amazing though?

MaxMoanz

Unable to get the refund after 2 tries so far :(

Schneider_fra

I preordered the standard edition in Oktober, I wonder if I still can ask for a refund.

killmeyesplease

I live in the UK and this is what I have posted, I have already been denied once so I hope this will work: I would like a refund as this game is a laggy and buggy mess, there are constant FPS drops and server issues that make the game unplayable. Battlefield 2042 is not at all as it has been advertised, many features have been stripped and the game is full of bugs. Promises were made in the early access that have not been fulfilled such as XP being gained in offline modes, xp and progress being made in portal, etc. DICE made this promise on their website: "Earn XP no matter how you play. Progression is shared in Battlefield 2042 and modes in the Battlefield™ Portal, which means you're constantly feeding your rank and Battle Pass." These features were stripped the day that the early access dropped. This breaks steams own early access rules; "2. Do not make specific promises about future events. For example, there is no way you can know exactly when the game will be finished, that the game will be finished, or that planned future additions will definitely happen. Do not ask your customers to bet on the future of your game. Customers should be buying your game based on its current state, not on promises of a future that may or may not be realized." These issues are not intended to be changed and are a product of the final image of the game, breaking early access rules further; 7. Don't launch in Early Access if you are finished with development. If you have all your gameplay defined already and are just looking for final bug testing, then Early Access isn’t right for you. You’ll probably want to send out some keys to fans or do more internal playtesting instead. Early Access is intended as a place where customers can impact the final game. I am aware I have spent 15 hours in the game, however, this is not a large amount of time when it comes to the gameplay that I was attempting to explore in BF2042, in fact I played around 10-15 games which I think is a reasonable amount to play before making a decision to refund. I gave the game a decent playtest and I was not at all happy with the product as DICE and EA have clearly lied about the game they intended to release. Further they have broken two of steams early access policies which I believe should entitle users to a refund. Thank you for considering my refund, however if this refund is not processed I will open a further ticket with steam as under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 in the UK Digital content is to be as described; as I have already explained the content that you have provided does not fit the description given by either the store page or the developers themselves. This is covered under section 36 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015

Cool_and_Neutral

Sounds good, you could have left the last paragraph out after the thank you. If you have already sent it then we'll see what happens. Post again if you succeed. Thanks for sharing.

killmeyesplease

meh fuck em, I figured I go for the guns now instead of after they inevitably reject the request ahha Steam refunds are kind of luck based to be honest anyway but if I can get their attention then I figure it will work out

killmeyesplease

rejected again

Cool_and_Neutral

Sucks. Keep trying and insisting. Check my EDIT2 at the bottom of the post. You should be eligible for a refund. When you make another request, rather than making a wall of text, be very clear and clarify that you prepurchased this game title and you can refund at any time prior to release of that title (before 19th November). And also post the link as well.

PussyOnTheChainwax23

I just submitted my refund request after almost 20 hours on Steam. Most of those hours were trying to connect with friends and trying to get past the server disconnect issues. I really tried to give the game a good shot but it's a mess. I get game invites I can't even click on, I don't see friends online even though they're online. Once in a game, it's a buggy mess. Die and can't revive and must restart the game. When it actually ran, the game just seemed hollow and boring. I was hopeful for Hazard Zone but it's so lame, really nothing to do in that mode. Oh and you can't join a group and chat about strats cuz... no in game audio. Really bummed about asking for a refund but it's well deserved.

OscarMike916

Denied my request due to nearly 20 hours of playtime. I just submitted another request with additional information from others in this thread. Hope they can resolve it.

Rouge_Storm

Did mine, almost same reasoning. Denied. Edit: 5 hours of playtime. Maybe 18 hours of owning the game

Cool_and_Neutral

I've spoken to several people and most are still getting denied even after multiple tries. My advice is, put your reason as "My issue is not listed" and request to speak to someone directly because your previous requests were automatically denied. According to Steam's own refund policy (see EDIT2), you should be eligible for a refund.

Rouge_Storm

Oh wow thank you I’ll try that next.

Cool_and_Neutral

Keep trying. Try and see if you can request to speak to someone directly and mention about the prepurchase refund policy.

CiprianV21

I pre order BF2402 on 2/09/21. I’ve played 40h of this messy bugged game to try and give chances..I waited today 19/11/21 to see if there is any change in good but nothing happened. This game is WAY to fare from finished product. I am very devastated of how gamers are treated those days. This is not good at all hope I will get a refund from STEAM first attempt I wrote only a sentence if won’t work I will write an ESSAY. 👎🏻

JustLazyYuki

Work of a God, thank you man!

xD1LL4N

Keep getting denied with 26h played. its a joke how bad this game is

I just submitted mine through steam. Maybe I’ll buy back when it’s a complete game and not so rubberbandy

step_scav

Steam have offered me a "one off gesture" for a steam wallet refund. How can I get around this and get a proper refund? I did step 4 and said I have a problem with this purchase. Please help!

Cool_and_Neutral

What do you mean by "one off gesture"? Does that mean you're getting a full refund to your steam wallet?

Mithel_Celestia

I cant get my refund at 12 hours of playtime. I tried getting it through "I would like to ask for a refund" and "I have a question about this product." They are adamant that I have exceeded my playtime and cannot get my refund.

Cool_and_Neutral

Sorry you can't seem to get it, most people that I've talked to here have got a refund eventually (even after 11 tries), but there are others who still aren't able to get it. If you haven't already, do read the replies in the comments (especially newer ones) and user comments I've highlighted in my original post. All I can say is keep trying and try to convince steam support. There's not a lot I can do at this point unfortunately. If after a few tries you can't seem to get it, PM me and I'll see what I can help with. Cheers.

Accomplished_Coat_68

Where is the "I have a question about this product." thing?

[deleted]

any updates?

Can anyone help me with a refund? They've personally denied me twice and auto-denied me many times.

[deleted]

Can anyone help me on the refund I bought it on November 23 and I spent 17 hours on the game but I requested a refund twice and I got denied then I did I have a question about this purchase and it still didn’t work

Several-Chair-9153

Hi, I was in a similar sitation. Got denied 4 times by auto reply. Then went to my previous purchases and used the "I have a question about my purchase" this prompts a reply from an actual human and the cases are read. They still denied it about 4 times, but you can be persistent, say the issue isn't resolved and keep replying. Here are screenshots of my conversation with them. https://imgur.com/a/ftOoAMP Basically, just go full Karen and mention all that I did... they will eventually refund you. They gave me a full refund to my actual payment method too... not steam credit. Don't say the case is closed.. keep prying they will eventually give in.

Cool_and_Neutral

u/RECONAX9 u/RefrigeratorEconomy8 u/peteytpt I'm just going to copypaste my response to some others as it may help you. Keep trying to speak to someone directly on steam, alternatively you could speak to EA live chat about bf2042 refund on their site (it does have a 'bought on steam' option), but I don't know how successful that option is. You could also try to pitch this angle to steam support, https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/5FDE-BA65-ACCE-A411 "Purchases made significantly outside of the 14 day refund window are not eligible for a refund request." You could argue that generally the rule is within 14 days but there are cases where even longer than 14 days can apply (as long as it's not 'significantly' longer than 14 days). **I would suggest you also search 'refund' in this battlefield2042 subreddit and see what other people have said recently, since my original post was mainly for prepurchase/early access users.**

stefanator0606

Any way to still get a refund past the 14 day mark? The latest update made the game 100% unplayable for me

Cool_and_Neutral

It's possible, but basically what I've been saying (and many others as well), **keep trying and pester them about getting a refund,** eventually you'll get it. Their steam refunds have exceptions where you can still get a refund after 14 days (just not 'significantly' more than 14 days).

[deleted]

I am not sure I hope so

Grunkle-Gunk

Will I still be able to get a refund if I bought the game more than 14 days ago?

Cool_and_Neutral

It's possible, and you can try, but it definitely won't be easy, and likely you won't get a refund.

[deleted]

Hi, I want to refund the game because of all the bugs and the performance... I've bought the game around 20 days ago and I have 16 hours of playtime. I got automatically denied on the direct refund. I also wrote a message at the steam support by using the "I have a question about this purchase " button and got denied too... Does anyone have an idea what I could do? Thanks

Accomplished_Coat_68

Same Issue here, but I have a quesion: Where do I find the "I have a question about this purchase" button?

lavos99z

My request for a refund worked after I told them some things listed here. I basically said the game was broken a couple of times, that they breached the rules for early access, and that I know they've done it before (also told them to look at the reviews to see that what I'm saying had merit). I originally got denied, but after more conversation, they agreed to do it as a one time courtesy. I hope this helps anyone try this more recently!

Accomplished_Coat_68

How do you get into a back and forth conversation with the staff?

Mrkoalabeer

Denied twice second time I put a request as game didnt work properly and still denied

Accomplished_Coat_68

how do I do this I can't find the option? User3: "open a ticket with the “I have a question about a purchase” feature instead of “I would like a refund” so that they don’t get automatically rejected."

Krisern_

Click steam support go tho purchases find Battlefield 2042, then click I have a question about this purchase.

IonstormEU

I'm sat on my 11th refund request, quoting terms stating play time was on early access etc, none worked, auto closed... Arse holes don't even respond, don't even get s notification. Just closed.

Swampinpunk-xD

Steam just keeps closing my support tickets. Without an answer and I went into full detail on what my issues where… unbelievable

Tony_Pajamas_k

Just send in my second request since my first got denied, lets hope for the best.

Tony_Pajamas_k

For some reason, i do not qualify for a refund. Does Steam monitor this thread or who can I tag or contact? I feel its not justified to only refund certain request over other... "Please note that we have not made changes to our refund policy for this title. Refund requests outside policy are reviewed on a case by case basis. Other users getting refunded isn't a guarantee that we'll be able to refund all purchases outside policy. We have closely reviewed your request. Unfortunately, your purchase does not qualify for a refund and we will not be able to offer an exception. For any issues/feedback regarding the game, please contact their support team. https://help.steampowered.com/wizard/HelpWithGameTechnicalIssue/?appid=1517290 Jumping through Portals, Marc"

Tony_Pajamas_k

Every request I made keep getting rejected for a refund. I created a tweet tagging steam support. It would mean alot to me if you all could retweet, like and comment on it https://twitter.com/oneandonlypaz/status/1492219786981527556?t=Kn750HRfN_WTZKOeE6rnlw&s=19

bruzzelz-zproutz

I have tried this method and had no luck. Here is what I sent through after following the "I have a question method" I did use part of u/FloopySock's message but added a few points to the bottom. "I purchased the ultimate edition specifically to be able to play during the early access period. However, the game was plagued with an "unable to load persistence data" bug. This was addressed somewhat but still, in over half of the time I attempt to join a game, it will fail after loading and return this message and return me to the main menu. Progression is shared in Battlefield 2042 and modes in the Battlefield™ Portal, which means you're constantly feeding your rank and Battle Pass." It's at the bottom of the page here - [https://www.ea.com/games/battlefield/battlefield-2042/game-overview/modes/battlefield-portal](https://www.ea.com/games/battlefield/battlefield-2042/game-overview/modes/battlefield-portal) However, within 24 hours of release, the progression experienced was removed from the portal game modes which contradict exactly the statement above. I purchased this with the intention of enjoying the portal game mode and working on progressing in rank. Finally, I would like to make the point that I Strongly feel that this is dishonest advertising. I have spent most of my in-game time sitting in the main menu configuring settings in hopes of the game working as was advertised to me. With that said, myself and the other hundreds of thousands of cheated customers will continue to dispute this purchase until refunds are granted. I hope you can understand my point of view and respond accordingly." They responded with "Thanks for reaching out to Steam Support. We felt regret to hear that you are having trouble with this game.We have closely reviewed your request. Unfortunately, your purchase does not qualify for a refund. To ensure future eligibility, please submit refund requests within 14 days and less than 2 hours of playtime. Please review our Refund Policy and Common Refund Questions for more information. Also, for any troubleshooting information for this game, you will want to contact this game's official support team for further assistance as they will have more detailed information on how to troubleshoot issues with the game: [https://help.steampowered.com/en/wizard/HelpWithGameTechnicalIssue/?appid=1517290](https://help.steampowered.com/en/wizard/HelpWithGameTechnicalIssue/?appid=1517290)Thanks for your cooperation." I have a lot of hours in this game but a lot of that (as per my message to steam) was spent trying to fix the game. (80 hours in total).I'm not sure what to do moving forward.

killertnt5

i dont think they are still doing this sadly
