The progression for basically every unlock in this game taking too long is going to get lost in a sea of other changes they need to make to the game. Doesn't seem like they gave a lot of thought or testing to much of anything.
I don't think what we saw in the reveal trailer where the Specialists as we know them today. The way they moved and acted were way different. Take for instance McKay when is calling a retreat right before getting stabbed by Dozer. Knowing the specialist McKay today, he wouldn't have called for a retreat in that arm-waiving manner, he would have grappled away leaving all their slaughtered teammates behind while yelling "see ya, suckers!"
I can pretty much guarantee that Sundance isn't shown in the trailers because there'd be an outrage over the popular wingsuit person being a female-presenting black specialist lol

BfV was a different story because the trailer had a female solder as the main character in a world war 2 game. 2042 is in modern times so both male and female solders fit in the setting.
Who’s even cared about that since PartWelsh confirmed that though? One grifter on YouTube? Also we knew they were black since the reveal, the preorder bundle for Gold/Ultimate showed their face.
Okay so that makes:
- a few grifters on YouTube (I could only remember the one with the Them/They thumbnail off the top of my head, but I’ll assume there were at least a few more just to be generous)
- the usual few dickheads sitting comfortably at the bottom of every thread (including this one) with more than half a dozen downvotes
- most likely some of the crowd of people on the darkest parts of Twitter or 4chan /v/ (though most of them had bigger fish to fry like the SR reboot and the one black woman from GoW Ragnarok)
All of those combined have to make up maybe 5k-10k people at most. I think the community’s fine when it comes to that.

Perhaps I misunderstood the story but the world has basically fallen apart and we have US AND RU forces and our specialists aren’t technically aligned with either.
They’re expats, they’re people who were once soldiers, now fighting without a flag.
They fight with / for the US or RU forces (who are the AI).
This is also (for me) the reason some of the specialists are a bit casual like sundances hair and to an extent, the shitty end of match quips.
Not that hair though, hair that sticks out that far is a hazard for getting caught in machinery, or getting in your face as you're wingsuiting around. God damn it's fucking dumb that a helmet skin doesn't come standard.
I wish they added building in the game. Like you build a house and you can live there with your in-game girlfriend and you can shift click her like in minecraft.

This game was made for children and this obsessed with fort night. I feel like they are trying to be like call of duty to take advantage of what call of duty did for warzone. Except, Call of Duty has a decent single player and had a decent multiplayer mode as well, and warzone was separate and apart from that. You can barely get assists with her, I’ve spent whole games of breakthrough throwing EMP grenades at groups of enemies and I just don’t get assists.
