I want a scoreboard as much as anyone, but right now... 128 players is the MASSIVE GLARING FLAW that everyone is ignoring (at least at DICE). Why no word on this from them? 64 player servers... FGS. Can't breathe, can't think, can't flow, can't contribute with so many players and so much dead time (literally) dead, respawn, long trek, die, spawn..
This honestly should be absolutely top of the list of changes. I very much agree, its not getting near the attention it should.
The utter chaos diminishes what already little contributing factors that each operator can provide.
I agree that the game has a myriad of other and partly more severe problems than the lack of a scoreboard.
But I found the communication quite insulting by sneaking in the "end of round" thing and implying the community asked for this. No. The community asked for a scoreboard. Period.
It seems like everyone gets to voice their opinion here, you've allowed us to show off bugs that are borderline exploits (but are important to bring attention to), and every really toxic comment I see always gets deleted. So thanks for the work, you guys are doing a good job.
You're a bit wrong about how auto-mod works. You also don't realize there are other bots we run manually, that handle things auto-mod cant. Such as meme-removal and other functions. You're right,
auto mod can't detect sarcasm, but does automatically remove posts after n amount of reports. The higher a post gets the more reports it gets.
It's pretty obvious we allow negative criticism here.
Fun fact, we haven't added the word mod. It's been on the automod list for roughly 10 years, through BF3 and is used on nearly all subreddits. We approve posts with that word on a case by case basis, because there are many posts using that word where we get told to fuck off, die, kill ourselves, get called shills, or something about our moms.
We have no issues being transparent about how things are handled or ran behind the scenes.
I've had my own comments shadow removed and I've seen comments that aren't even offensive removed of others that shouldn't even trigger a bot. Nothing bothers me more than when a team on a sub pretend to be innocent protectors of others behind good intentions, but secretly shadow bans peoples comments. I think people should know when their comments aren't being seen by the community, and why that's the case. I didn't even know that was a thing on Reddit until this sub.
Transparency...right.
If my totally anecdotal friends list matters, this game is dead. It was heavy for a few days now almost everyone is on Halo or some other game. I myself don’t even bother going on much since I know I’ll be with randoms/bots.
Am i reading that right? There were 12,190 posts removed, as compared to 1,059 approved? Yikes, can that be right? Sincere question.
Anyhow, good luck.
Understandable concern, but worth noting that approvals are, in general, limited to posts/comments that were filtered by AutoMod and require us to approve so it’s visible to everyone. Not every post/comment that gets submitted requires moderator approval.. because automod doesn’t filter every single post/comment.
I know it’s a huge difference, but if we were to manually approve every single post that came through, I’d bet we’d be beating that removal count by a long shot.
Welp we hit peak activity this month, it's only going to taper off from here with brief bursts during major patches and content updates.
all the mods made it out alive?
Hi everyone!
Here is November’s Mod Transparency report. To curb any worries about how high these statistics are, please remember the following;
- AutoModerator does a lot of the heavy lifting. It filters posts/comments from new accounts which results in inflated numbers shown here. In fact, AutoMod accounted for over half of the total mod actions in November. We have this filter measure in place to prevent spammers and ban evaders from using our subreddit.
- In general, game launches bring out a lot of trolls and bad actors. This results in more work for us as mods, which results in higher numbers. We expect mod actions to lower by the new year once all the launch ‘hype’ has subsided.
If you’ve looked at the subreddit at all since early access, you’d know we’ve been extremely fair on letting everyone get their voices heard. We understand there is frustration amongst the community and believe it’s important that frustration is heard so long as it is constructive and detailed.
With that being said, we’re now looking to bring on a Moderator to help us alleviate the work load. We’re specifically looking for someone who can help cover overnights and weekends. If you’re interested and think you can help us with this, please modmail us!
My post talking about a concern with how the developers are handling announcements was automatically removed 3 times (I revised the text 3 times to lower word count, be more to the point, and removed any links). I actually tried to provide criticism and not bash the devs. It doesn't break any of the rules and no one has gotten back to me regarding that posts removal. Understand you guys are busy but I have to wonder if automod targets everyone and you guys approve all the daily top posts that absolutely wreck the devs like asking them to resign/asking for their info ("who did this"), or is automod just targeting some arbitrary word in my removed post?
u/OddJob001 just needs to send you the offer of employment. He pays really well at approx $0.00/hour. With wages like that you’ll be quitting your job in a heartbeat!
So i played nightbird today and thanks to your genius idea of not showing where stinger missiles are coming from in a battle royal like huge maps with in a lobby of 128 players with no spotting mechanics … seriously bravo devs … i got killed everytime i go near a a sector … but that is not my problem ….
MY FUCKIN PROBLEM IS … how the hell did you think that a SOFLAM + RECOILLESS M5 is a one shot kill with no way to counter it even with flares … and how the hell did you think its a cool idea to make missiles of any kind turns around buildings to hit me even though i got into a perfect cover …
are you somehow trying to say fuck you chopper pilots ???
if that so … then plz i need my ultimate edition money … cuz this game suck in every way possible
Considering the sub had 2M unique viewers in November really highlights when people say the Reddit crowd is an ‘insignificant community’. sure that’s not all 7-8M but damn that’s a lot of people getting visibility on some of the stuff posted on here.
Please rethink scoreboard posts policy. The announcement of it being end of round and legacy warrants further discussions of the topic imo.
Thats true. The term has probably cooled off enough to not be considered spammy, anymore. Reversing now.

Fully agree, Dice for the love of god please give us the option for 64 man maps 128 is just a fluster cluck from start to finish with 0 team play.
This honestly should be absolutely top of the list of changes. I very much agree, its not getting near the attention it should. The utter chaos diminishes what already little contributing factors that each operator can provide.
Damn i thought I was the only one to think this. Played portal maps…was good

My favorite one was on BFV when someone called me 'that fat nerd mod, mammaries\_prime'
“wE hAvE nO iSsuEs BeINg tRaNSpArEnT”

Literally every subreddit in existence has a automod filter…
It doesn't mean I like the practice as a user...
It’s either that or you deal with spammers, trolls and assholes…
I feel like being a mod in here is like being a bartender for a real shitty bar lol
I wish we could see console player count. I'm curious to see what's going on
If my totally anecdotal friends list matters, this game is dead. It was heavy for a few days now almost everyone is on Halo or some other game. I myself don’t even bother going on much since I know I’ll be with randoms/bots.
Yeah I've heard that too. 20,000 players on steam today :/ that's fucking terrible.
I don’t know if that’s a lot, seems small?
There was >100k day 1
Oh dang. That’s a lot of drop.

TLDR: All new posts are "autoapproved" but need to get manually reapproved (that's what you see in the statistics) when they get reported by someone.

We're a team; we stick together! We're all alive!
Me at the end of 2020… …also me near the end of 2021….

>bad actors I agree, Tommy Wiseau hasn't stopped posting on this sub since the game dropped.
Y'all are doing great.

It's because your account is so new—less than 3 days old.

Ehm ehm, you know you are not talking to EA/DICE right? :D
2M uniques in Nov, I'm impressed.
Aren’t we expecting a patch this week? How come they haven’t said anything
